The lobby and the room was fine. The below level parking, which by the way was a $16 extra charge, smelled so bad of urine and human waste that I could hardly stand to breathe getting to the lobby.

Double queen room was crowded but clean, bed was comfortable, large TV, hotel was quiet, breakfast area was spacious, breakfast was good, hotel has underground parking ($16 HST in 2024), tent city not far from hotel, group of drug addicts beside building, one was hidden in a nook along the walkway between the front entrance and the underground parking. Hotel employee said that they don't bother guests. They didn't bother us, but we still felt unsafe, and as a woman, I would not have gone to our car alone.

When we pulled up to the hotel we were greeted by alot of homeless people, the 1st 1 we spotted had his pants down,i would not have been comfortable having a child with me. Thank god it had underground parking to put my mind at ease a bit. Then once we check in they tell us that its an extra $16 a car to park on the property, we selected this hotel because it was a bit cheaper but once that is added on all savings are gone and its not worth the anxiety of worrying about our vehicles.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Gated underground parking was very nice, it is first come first served. TV in room didn't work. Breakfast options included cereal, instant oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, tea, coffee, juices. Fitness center was spacious but minimally equipped - treadmill, elliptical, dumbells to 30 lbs. There are a lot of homeless folks in the area and people were openly using drugs on the steps next door, but I walked to and from the hotel as late as midnight and everyone just minded their own business.

I don’t usually have the need to send hotels emails however this warrants it. My employees experience at the Sandman Hotel in London, Ontario was so disturbing that I feel obligated to speak up. From the moment he arrived, the surroundings were unsettling—there were individuals clearly under the influence loitering around the property, making it feel unsafe and unwelcoming. Inside, things went from bad to worse. His room was infested with cockroaches. He spotted them crawling on the dresser around his food, I could only imagine how many were in and around the area. It is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The room felt dirty and poorly maintained, and I couldn’t sleep comfortably knowing the hygiene was so compromised.

I didn’t like that it was hard for me to get much sleep because of the noisy occupants that we could hear throughout the night, in the hallways on the floor that we were on. I also didnt like that i found use tissue paper under the covers in a bed that was supposed to be freshly made. Also as i was loooking for my hair cover ( which had drop down on the side of the bed) I saw 3 empty milk containers under the bed which indicated that the carpet may not have been vacuum. I must mention that the cost of the room was quite high but the reason I chose that hotel was because ir was close to an office where my friend had an early appointment the next day. However i must mention that the front desk staff was quite accomodating and professional on my entrance and departure. I was also disappointed that for the price i paid through Expedia, the hotel was misrepresented.

Water didn’t drain from tub as you were showering, an hour later, ready to go out and water was still draining. coffee cups were not sealed individually and noticed on cleaning cart, they were just laying loose on bottom shelf of the cleaning cart. loose not sterile.not a safe environment to be walking in very rundown area. Lots of homeless people around. Should have a restaurant or some fast food service brochures available so you know were to go to eat.

Found cockroaches in our room. Felt unsafe going out for a smoke with the amount of crackheads sleeping outside. Would never stay here again, the staff were very nice just not a good place to stay.

The hotel needs to add better security to this location so guests feel more comfortable upon arrival. The underground parking lot has a horrible stench of urine. while walking to the room the hallway also has a faint smell too. Guests were also being sent to rooms that had not yet been cleaned by housekeeping. The property needs to deal with several issues to increase customer experience satisfaction.

The room was clean but very outdated and needs some renovation/updates. Facing Dundas Street, it was very noisy. The black-out portion of the curtains to do pull shut, so too much light enters the room and makes it difficult to sleep. Arriving to the hotel was confusing in regards to how to access the underground parking. There are no signs, and no prior advice to indicate that you must park your vehicle in the alleyway heading into the parking lot, THEN go inside to check in to receive your hotelroom key cards which also activate the parking garage gate. That part was the most frustrating. There were also many unhoused and addicted folks around the property as there is a community centre/living accommodations for this demographic, directly next door to the hotel.

Three stars because our room's AC unit was extremely loud and so was the bathroom fan. Not to any fault of theirs but there's quite a significant amount of homeless people, questionable characters in the immediate vacinity and homeless shelter nxt door. When we mentioned the AC unit at check out, the staff offered us a discount to our room and comped us one night of free parking ($16 per day). We stayed for two nights. Just didn't want to complain about the room because when we checked in upon arrival it was almost midnight and we were really tired and had to be out early and back late again the next day. Overall, clean hotel. Locked gated area for the underground parking made us feel alot better getting in anf out of our car late at night.

Pretty clean considering it looked dated. However, even on the 6th floor you could hear people shouting. Also, the curtains could not close all the way so there was no way anyone could sleep in as the daylight comes in through the shear curtains.

Pros: Bed was comfortable and a wide variety of T.V Channels. The workout room was a nice compact place for some late night cardio. Cool little breakfast bar. The staff were very nice and a pleasure to talk with. Cons: The ceiling light fixtures were removed in my room, so most of the wall switches did nothing. There was blood on one of the light bulbs by my bedside table (didn’t take a picture). And it was a little weird having this closet in the hall right behind where my head would rest (no door in the hallway outside my room)

When I checked into the hotel and paid with my credit card. On the hand held transaction machine it showed my card was approved. The receptionist told me it didnt go through. I explained what it said on the device. They had me run my card again and I had the same message of it being approved. I showed them and they told me it never did and asked me to swipe a third time and i declined. They refused to give me any print out of the failed transactions and the manage Nikita then told me she wouldn't check me in. I then called my credit card and was told they charged me 4 times. I was told to calm down by the receptionist twice and i felt was uncalled for as anybody going through this would be upset. No sorrys or valid explanations were given. The staff poorly explained things and just said they were working in it with IT. I paid an extra $30 for early check in to only spend that time on the phone with my credit card company and trying to get an explanation from the manager Nikita. If this didnt happen, our stay would have been more enjoyable.

The hotel is wonderful and price is affordable. Unfortunately for this hotel, because of a recent neighbouring “shelter” of some sort the surrounding area is undesirable (blame the govt) this hotel is great otherwise and I feel badly for their business that they have to endure the unsavouriness outside. I recommend to Book here, parking is safe and hotel is good.,

Hotel was nice for the quick couple day stay which I wasn’t even in the room very much to begin with. The only issue, which I can see with many hotels in London, is the amount of homeless/drug addicts that linger and sit/walk aimlessly. It can be unsettling if you’re not used to it. From what I gather after talking to some local guards and officers is that they are bussed in from Toronto and dropped off in London. Crazy.

This is a clean well maintained hotel close to key places like the local arena, where they have concerts, wrestling shows, junior hockey games, and a 15 minute walk or short cab from the VIA rail station. It is next door to a homeless shelter which might bother some, but I didn't have any issues. I would stay here again if I was going to a show.

The hotel itself served its purpose of an overnight stay. Room with a king bed was comfortable and quiet. Staff was excellent and friendly and check in was quick. Paid secure parking available. Many homeless people were gathered on the street with a small encampment close by. As a single woman staying alone I did feel uneasy waiting for transportation out front. Doesn’t seem the hotel has much control of the issue but takes precautions with locked doors and pass card access. I would stay here again.

Our stay at Sandman was good. Our room was clean and the staff were great with check-in. The shower was great. Amazing water pressure. Just have to be careful when you walk out the hotel doors as right next door, there is a shelter with all kinds of people doing drugs or in a drugged out of state of mind. There's lots more all the way up Dundas St as I walked to the Canada Life Place building to see a show. I didn't have any issues - only had a few people approach me for money near the concert venue. We parked in the upper parking lot and it was completely fine. The one thing I didn't love was breakfast. There were breakfast sandwiches wrapped in plastic but only egg and cheese when I got there around 8:15 am. Also, just the usual cereal, toast, bagel, bananas, apples, granola bars, apple, orange, cranberry juice, tea, coffee. Other than that, our stay was comfortable and I would stay at this hotel again if I were to visit London.
