Rooms on the back side overlook a dirty green zone and our room was placed in the newer building while we would have preferred being in the old building. Access to spa and swimming pool has to be made trough the entrance and the lobby plus the bar, not very adequate in bathing gown. Otherwise, very nice staff and good kitchen. Service at the bar a little too superficial.

I gave this hotel a 4 because the room was very noisy and next to the elevator. The elevator started running early in the morning and was very loud; the hotel amenities close at 7:00. As we travelled from a different time zone, I would have appreciated a quiet room in am and being able to use the pool later at night.

The food in the restaurant is great. They also have a one star michelin restaurant. The location is very nice close to the lake with the street in between. Rooms are old, tapestry partly with stains and uneven, shower in the bathtub with shower head at ~1,7m (difficult for larger people) and water is leaking. Elevators are old, the left one takes the guest up and down many times but not to the ground floor. Service overall slow, e.g., coffee took more than 15min at the breakfast.

I have to admit being completely confused as to how this hotel has such raving reviews. It is indeed a very beautiful property, possibly with the best view in town, with a lot of history and prestige, but in quite bad shape, rooms very outdated, everything with a moldy smell, very disappointing. Staff was lovely, really tried to accommodate our shock when we were showed to our room, especially as the pictures can be a bit misleading. Breakfast was quite bad too, as in low quality of ingredients and not very diverse. As i said, staff was lovely and extremely helpful, the view is stunning. The pool area also seemed very nice but didn’t get the chance to enjoy it. But in my opinion, not a very premium experience, beside the fact that you are sleeping in a historical building. We are regulars of another 5 star hotel in Lugano which is, in fact, way better.

Stunning hotel on the lake, convenient walk to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurants delicious. The only downside was that the air conditioning did not work in our room even after staff assured us, it was fixed. It was over 26 and was cooler outside. No accommodation was given.

Wow! This is a magnificent hotel in every way! It is beautiful, luxurious and filled with old world elegance. Our room was beautiful with lovely views of the lake. The breakfast was one of the most expansive and delicious spreads that I’ve seen. I could not recommend this more highly!

It's a beautiful hotel overlooking Lake Lugano, just 10 mins walk from Lugano. The staff was friendly and courteous. Our suite had a number of issues - the TV didn't work, the bathroom door didn't close, the A/C didn't cool the room adequately, and the curtains did not close.

The receptionist Maria was fantastic at checking us in! She showed us around, was very pleasant and enthusiastic and we really appreciated her care when checking us in. The valet parking was ideal for us. Sadly one of our bags was left when reloading by the valet gentlemen but the hotel kindly sent this to us the following day so we have to mark them 10/10 for their service and for how they dealt with the scenario

Good hotel, but not worth the money. In our experience a 4 star hotel, not 5 star. First, at welcome, receptionist refused that we had prepaid our stay. We had so this was vert unorofessional. We were also told the Michelin restaurant thst we had booked only had tables inside. This was not the case. But it made us cancel our reservation and we had to rebook. Breakfast was only average. We experienced very slow service at breakfast, coffee or eggs typically arrived after 10 minutes. The wsiters seemed unorganized and stressed. Sun beds and the gym vas good. Out room was old fashion style, but high quality. Very good bed.
