Beautiful hotel with a great staff. We rented one of the 4 bed family rooms. It was a great price, very clean, and was perfect for our family for 1 night after arriving in Madrid..

I had a bittersweet experience. More bitter than sweet. The hotel had a great location and staff were gentle. The bed mattress was old and very uncomfortable but we did not complain. The drama started when I requested to iron my clothes for a series of business meetings. They shrunk the clothes (I.e they washed and dried them in machine against our request or label instructions). When we complained, the front desk manager indicated that it was not the hotel’s problem as they outsource the service. When I indicated that the order form has the hotel’s logo and not the third company’s, he insisted it was not his problem. They called the manager of the third company, and she indicated that the employee who made the mistake was going to pay for the clothes. We said it was not acceptable as companies have insurance and employees are covered by them. Rather than punishing employees, they should train them. Furthermore, paying for the clothes would reduce significantly the employee’s income for that month. They asked my account number so that the employee could transfer me. I said no. Not sure that’s even legal. Instead, we asked the hotel whether they could offer an alternative to compensate for the damage (e.g a courtesy night). They said it was not possible. When we checked out, they even wanted us to pay for the laundry service! Which, eventually did not charge, after we objected. Conclusion: if you stay in this hotel and you have a problem, good luck! - you are on your own.
