The hotel is being remodeled. Despite what was said about the hours of construction, the workers started much earlier than announced and were very noisy. The gym is also very difficult to access and needs an update too. Otherwise loved the hotel and will return.

The stay was pleasant but I had no idea the renovation was so extensive. Every thing in the hotel was gone a there was one makeshift restaurant and one makeshift bar. Disappointing but my room was superb.

We were not told the hotel was under renovations. It is not our first time staying here so we know what this hotel is like. To say uncomfortable is an understatement. Two elevators to access the rooms is ridiculous. Things never seen at this hotel, was a large coffee spill in between the elevators (1st to go from the lobby to the 2nd elevator to access the rooms) which remained uncleared all day. From time we left the hotel to go explore the city to nighttime when we returned to the hotel. The New Year’s Eve buffet was shamefully bad. Food was cold and lacked flavor

Even under construction this hotel manage to deliver 5 star service. Accommodating in every way. Finally a gym that is actually a gym within a hotel. Good job on putting the gym together.

The property is under complete construction. They mention refurbishment of their Dome. It is not just the Dome. The lobby bar, main restaurant and breakfast area are all set up in a temporary area. That being the hotel conference facilities. There is no direct elevator to the rooms. The entire exterior area is under construction as well. We had a beautiful renovated room but the staff outside the room were very loud. We had a service door by the headboard of our bed. They constantly slammed the door. We voiced our concerns after the first night. It continued the entire stay. This was not good for sleeping it happen at late as midnight and as early at 6 a.m. The last day there was loud banging above our head. Would not recommend staying till they complete their renovations! Not refurbishment as stated by the hotel.

Very expensive for a hotel under renovation. Most of public rooms were blocked off. Staff was unapologetic for the construction site atmosphere of the property. Not worth the price.

Reservé el hotel por ubicación, y por las instalaciones. Nunca fui informado que estaba en remodelación. No se podía observar el lobby y el restaurante que son el atractivo principal del hotel. Solo había acceso directo a la habitación por un pasillo oscuro. Había ruido por la noche por las remodelaciones lo que impedía el correcto descanso. El baño de la habitación no es correctamente desinfectado ya que emanaba un olor desagradable desde el día.

歴史を感じる建物、受付等のサービスは素晴らしかったのですが、アメニティーの件で伝えたことが伝わってなかったり、使用はしていないものの、ミニバルコーナーには埃があったりと少しがっはりな点がありました。30年ほど前にまだウエスティン系列ではないパレスの頃に泊まった際、感動した記憶があったため、少し残念でした。マドリードでも歴史ある建物でもあるこのホテル。ドームの改装（修復）工事後含め、今後に期待します。

Beautiful hotel with professional and helpful staff. Concierge recommended amazing restaurants, health club was well equipped, the actual rooms and bathrooms are large, bar had good cocktails and the restaurant was gorgeous with nice selection of food. Loved the location too. Very walkable to sites

The hotel is beautiful and it is being remodeled, I can't wait to stay when it is completely done! The staff are well trained, friendly and accommodating. The one thing I didn't like is that our window didn't seal well, so I got to hear everything going on outside my window (and there was a terrible accident at 3:00 am one morning).

I loved the room set up. Lovely in every way. Bellman were fantastic as well as concierge, front desk, and room service. I stayed two nights and didn't want to leave. Super clean rooms with stunning tile floors and modern, sleek gold fixtures along with some traditional furniture. Light and bright with heavy blackout curtains. I loved how the modern light switches allowed a dusk/night vibe with just one tap of a button. Room service starts at 7am. Bed was very comfortable. I had no trouble sleeping. I liked the sitting area with love seat and chair and table for easily entertaining two other guests. Wine in bar was excellent and loved the crystal wine glasses. The room has everything, including lavendar scent for sleeping. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. I hope i get to visit Madrid again.

There were many things to like about this hotel but there were just too many things that were weak to give it more than three stars. What is to like: 1) location is great, 2) most of the staff had excellent service skills (for example there was a problem with our room when we checked in (lights in cupboards would not turn off) and they immediately moved us to a new room with an upgrade,3) beds are extremely comfortable, 4) quality of the refurbished rooms was very high. What did not work so well: 1) rooms facing the roads are can be noisy at night (bring ear plugs), 2) the hotel is under going major refurbishments, so it will be extremely noisy in the room during the day and there are teething problems in the new rooms too (note light issue above and TV worked but no channels after the first night, 3) some staff at breakfast do not speak English which resulted in my partner missing breakfast due to a tight check out time we needed to make our trip work. All in all it was fine, and I am pretty sure it will get better post refurbishment, but you do expect better given the price

Property is undergoing renovations. Our room was recently remodeled and looked great but the hallways and lobby are very antiquated. Certain portions of the hotel were also closed due to this reason. Buffet breakfast was included in our package and the spread was very good. Staff and service were also good.

The hotel was great, except the service was atrocious. For example, when we arrived, we waited a half hour in line to check in because the check in desk staff were taking their time chatting and wasting time, then when we did get to the front of the line, the person behind the desk told my wife and I we would have to stand aside and wait while he checked in other people in line behind because he couldnt keep them waiting, although he had no problem making us wait. Eventually someone from the concierge desk saw us waiting and came and checked us in. Absolutely ridiculous behavior for a supposedly "elite" hotel.

It was impossible for me to figure out how to use the phone in the room. I was disconnected three time trying to contact the hotel operator. I finally gave up! Also I had to ask for coffee cups to be brought to the room twice during my stay so I could use the in room coffee machine. The staff took the used cups and didn’t replace them.

No bell aid at curbside. We have expedia gold. We were not upgrade as we should. Hotel ins’t full. After complaining they changed us to an even smaller room. It was late we accepted. No bottle of wine that was supposed to be givem to us. Terrible seevice for a 5 star hotel of more than 700 euros a night

It was an excellent five night stay. The location is close to the centre, yet away from all the noise and bustle. The rooms were very good, food was excellent and the bars were great too. There was no one to receive us or carry our luggage at the front door when we arrived. Madrid Marathon was on the same day that we were checking out. The concierge was unhelpful with any suggestions for getting to the airport from the hotel as several roads were blocked

Hotel location was not good for me and my wife. We feel better when staying at the Gran Vía area, where we need to walk less to access our sites of interest. Breakfast options could be better. Access to Hotel is limited during weekends, where many city official activities occurred. However, this Hotel is beautiful and very well operated.

El hotel es maravilloso pero lo que antes era una ventaja se ha convertido en algo negativo y me duele decirlo, la ubicación. Siempre cierran las calles porque la gente de madrid sale a manifestarse, a protestar, a correr en un marathon a lo que sea, el caso es que cierran la calle y no llegan los taxis. La gente de servicio de afuera de mal humor te tratan en tono de enfado y la policía que cierra las calles te trata peor. Una lástima porque en verdad amaba este hotel, pero así es imposible disfrutar la estancia.

I am so thankful we decided to stay at The Palace as we were considering two other properties. It provides the best location in all of Madrid close to everything and within walking distance that makes the city so spectacular. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, and the beds heavenly. The bathroom with double vanity and expansive shower was also great for a family. The reception, valet, restaurant and bar and cleaning staff were all kind, service oriented, helpful, and knowledgeable. The Palace is truly an exquisite property and we will return to Madrid and stay there again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

To paraphrase the old Rodney Dangerfield joke; when you look up a 5 star hotel in the dictionary you get a picture of the Westin Palace. This is the very definition of 5 stars, it is perfection brought to life. Our second stay here, and we were thrilled to be back. Gorgeous rooms, amazing location (10 minute walk to the Prado), the GOLD standard of breakfast buffets. Fantastic concierge service, always helpful finding great dinner reservations OR dine under the rotunda at the hotel restaurant, which is wonderful

The area around the outside of the hotel, and inside, were under construction, so there was some noise and construction debris on our floor, though the workers had it all cleaned up by the end of the day. The breakfast buffet was not the best I've had (dried out hashbrowns, potatoes chronically almost gone), though it was still very decent. The room was elegant and comfortable, and the staff super helpful, especially the concierges, who were very friendly and helpful and directed us to some excellent nearby restaurants.

El servicio fue en general muy bueno. En el restaurante podría mejorar porque la atención fue lenta, además de que en el menú las opciones eran limitadas. Nos hemos hospedado aquí desde hace ya muchos años y ahora el bufet no fue como era antes.

Loved the new rooms, excellent! Service, perfect. Coffee, poor (in comparison to the rest of Spain), Jamón Ibérico, was not, at best it might have been Serrano. Otherwise, beautiful property.
