Trevlig personal på hotel med bra frukostar och rent. Baren var stängd men det gjorde inget. Läget bra intill slottet och rätt nära att gå till både Gran Via, eller Plaza Mayor

This was an average 3 star property at best. No bar or restaurant facilities except breakfast which was quite disappointing. Would choose another hotel on any subsequent visit to Madrid

We live in Spain for context. The hotel build is nice and the people, but there are some very disappointing things for a hotel that is expensive. The Hotels.Com description says a Bar. There is NO bar. It has been closed for Two years and it now a sad corner with 20 bottles on a wall. The pillows are horrible. Long hard tubes. bring your own Pillow as there are no other types available and reception says that everyone complains and the owners do nothing (very Spanish attitude). There is NO hotel room service. They use a third party company that you call and order like uber eats. We called a few times and no one answered so we gave up. To Sum up, it should be 65 EU a night.!! Better options for the money elsewhere.

Heerlijk hotel. Om de hoek vh paleis en de Gran Via. Bus en metro ook dichtbij. Hotel mooi, ruime schone kamers, fijne badkamer. Parkeren in garage naast hotel, 24 euri per dag. Uitgebreid ontbijt met genoeg variatie. Personeel zakelijk bij receptie, mag iets hartelijker. Personeel ontbijt wel hartelijk. Maar al met al top hotel op top locatie. Tip diner bij Restaurant Botania op 5 minuten lopen. Zijn al 3 keer in dit hotel geweest

Overall cleanliness very poor There was a used cotton bud at the wall floor junction in the bathroom on entry into the room The grouting on the walls of the bathroom and wall floor junctions were very dirty The hotel was overall very worn The bar and restaurant was closed which was disappointing Staff were not very helpful and we were never asked if everything was satisfactory during our stay

O hotel tem muitos pontos positivos: localização (próximo a pontos turísticos, estações de metrô, shopping center Principe Pio, parques e mercados como Carrefour Express), além de um café da manhã bem variado, com frutas, cereais, sucos, pães, queijos, presuntos, panqueca, máquinas de café), e o quarto tem camas e espaço bem confortáveis. Os defeitos são um elevador pequeno, com capacidade para 5 ou 6 pessoas, e um dos recepcionistas com claros problemas de comunicação. Nota 9/10.

Very nice location expected laundry facilities Spain rarely has these just 24 hr laundry service. Hotel tried to accommodate by finding me an apartment but no washer there so stayed . They assisted in offering other laundry services but Sunday closed and Monday too late . Gave me an address to laundry facility. They tried to be very accomodating Laundry mat

Great value for money. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. If your room is at the front of the building, you'll have a view of the palace. There are a few metro stations within a ten minute walk and Gran Via is less than a 15 minute walk. There didnt seem to be a hotel bar and the roof terrace is more of a roof corridor but other than that we had a really nice stay here.

Very clean, good location and lovely staff!

The staff was lovely. The breakfast buffet was excellent. What a way to start the day! Beds were very comfortable. The only issue we had was with the pipes in the bathroom. There was a ghastly sewer smell coming uo. We closed all drains and covered them with thick towels and the smell was contained. I don't know if this was because of all the rain recently or a more seriousissue.

Very clean and comfortable! Had everything we needed. Easy walking distance from some main attractions and nightlife in Madrid and to the metro. Would definitely stay here again!

La habitación está muy cómoda lo único que no me gustó es el baño, siempre tenía mal olor a drenaje muy desagradable

This hotel is located just minutes away from the Royal Palace. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The one thing I found very inconvenient was the awful smell that came from the bathroom’s bidet. We had to cover it with a towel.

It smelled great in the hallways and in the room. Check in was quick and welcoming. The look of the hotel was colorful and clean. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the mini fridge and assortment of teas to make in the morning. We would stay here again.

Very disappointed with the service. The room cleaning was done without actually cleaning anything — they didn’t even change the towels. We had to call and ask them to replace the towels, which should have been done in the first place.

Nice hotel in close proximity to royal place and train station. Room was nice and clean with king size bed and view of palace. Breakfast was superb with great selection. Only negative for hotel was inconsistent water temperature in shower.

Location was amazing. Our room faced the palace. Large room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Parking was next to the hotel. Very convenient. Will come back for sure!

They have the AC setup and you can't adjust the temperature you like. Very disappointed!!! I made the claim and they made me think it was issued but it wasn't.

Good location,, very close to the grand via and metro station. There are option of restaurants and small shops nearby. Very friendly and attentive staff , room was comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious . The only thing in our room the air conditioning wasn’t working. The breakfast ( buffet style ) was excellent .

The hotel is located in a great area, easy to walk to most tourist sites; lots of shopping and food near by. Breakfast is very basic for the price they charge so its not a good value. The main issue with this property is how old everything is. I've stayed a couple times and the rooms are very outdated. Beds are very comfortable.

It was the second time we stayed at this hotel (this time 4 nights). Towels were coming apart unstitched at the ends. Three (3) of them came like that, to our bathroom. Really Hot water would appear all of the sudden while taking a shower and burn us. Worst than that, we depended on internet for work and to make reservations and it was not working every day the staff would say the same since we arrived, "we're having problems" which was never solved, while we were there. Very very disappointed. Not to be recommended. Staff very nice.

Nice location close to the sights. Room to the street was very loud. Air conditioning didn’t work at all. The room was very small. Still very friendly front desk and excellent buffet breakfast, enjoyed omelette machine. Good price for short stay, pay more and get quiet room to inner court.

The place was clean and walkable to many sites. However the room was about 80degrees F when it was 65 degrees F outside. They told us to just open the window. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Water temperature was either ice cold, luke warm or scolding hot. Looks like the side wall next to the toilet was not cleaned. Everything else was great!!

Very convenient, close to many Important attractions. Food was great and the staff very helpful. I would stay again!!

Excellent room! Easy check in. Doorman Thomas is an excellent addition to your staff as he is very helpful and very nice personality. Front desk people may need a little bit more personality, seems to be very uptight.

Genuinamente no entendí por qué este hotel está tan bien valorado. Llegamos y la habitación tenía un olor a alcantarilla muy fuerte e insoportable. Me quejé y fueron a la habitación a rociar un aromatizador de ambiente FUERTÍSIMO, lo que me desencadenó una alergia y fue especialmente absurdo porque estaba con un bebé de nueve meses en la habitación. El olor solo empeoró y la situación se volvió muy incómoda. Finalmente nos cambiaron de habitación, pero el cambio se hizo de forma desorganizada y poco cuidadosa, obligándonos a gestionar el traslado prácticamente por nuestra cuenta, lo que resultó muy incómodo después de un viaje largo. Además, el equipo está grotescamente mal preparado para recibir a un perro guía. En el check-in nos preguntaron dos veces por el pago de la “mascota”, incluso después de mostrar la identificación oficial del animal. Más tarde, un empleado empezó a reprendernos a voz altísima desde la recepción (a varios metros de distancia), sin preguntar ni pedir que nos acercáramos, de forma grosera y discriminatoria, por haber dejado al perro en la habitación. Hablo español, vivo en España y mi enfermedad está acreditada oficialmente aquí, por lo que toda la situación era perfectamente inteligible para un equipo preparado. Nunca hemos tenido ningún problema en otros hoteles, incluidos hoteles en Madrid, y además habíamos avisado previamente por mensaje sobre todo, incluido el perro guía. Aun así, la experiencia fue tensa y muy decepcionante.

Had a terrible customer service experience here. Checked in to the room in the morning and already realized the hair dryer is broken. I immediately brought the attention to the front desk and they gave me the spare. Later on that night, my girlfriend was trying to use it after she showered, even the spare one didnt work. I brought it down to the front desk and they said they will bring me another one. 30 minutes passed in the room, there was no response no phone call for any updates. I had to go down to the front desk again to which they told me that theres nothing they can do and i have to wait until the morning. No call, no knock on the door, no apologies while my girlfriend’s hair is still wet. A hotel with 3 stars has worse customer service than a motel that costs less.

The hotel is very clean. Our room was spacious and airy. The location is unbeatable. < 5 mins to the Royal Palace and Plaza de España.

Great location

Very close to metro and access is to Gran Via. Airport access via metro as well and located in center of Madrid next to one of the Royal Palaces.

I believe this was the best place to stay in Madrid. Ten minutes from the Palace, market, Flamenco dance, nice dining, metro, bus, etc.

I have been staying at this hotel for more than 20 years but not since the pandemic. They have beautifully restored it and I loved it! Great location right in fron of Plaza España. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, museums, etc.

Séjour très agréable à l'hôtel Principe Pio de Madrid. Très bon emplacement, juste en face du Palais Royal et à proximité immédiate de la Plaza de España, au coeur de Madrid. Très bon accueil lors de notre arrivée, réceptionniste très aimable et professionnel. Nous n'avions pas choisi la chambre avec vue sur le Palais, notre chambre donnait donc sur l'arrière, au 7ème étage, avec vue très dégagée sur le grand parc Casa de Campo un peu plus loin. Et très calme, aucun bruit de la rue. Chambre très agréable, très propre. Petit-déjeuner servi avec des horaires très étendus, de 7H à 11H en semaine. Type buffet dans une jolie salle, mais en sous-sol, donc absence de fenêtres... Notre séjour à Madrid s'est très bien passé en partie grâce à l'hôtel Principe Pio où nous nous sentions très bien. Nous y reviendrons sûrement lors d'un prochain séjour dans cette magnifique ville.

Super good breakfast with great variety, staff 10/10, excellent location

Brilliant location for Palace, parks and Plaza España. We arrived into Chamartin train station and it was easy to get to the hotel on Metro Line 10 and a short walk. The hotel is unassuming on the outside, but once inside we loved the sympathetic renovations, it felt cosy and comfortable especially the bar area which is beautiful. Our cool and quiet room was perfect, very comfortable bed, twin basins and a bath in the large bathroom, loads of storage and a lovely dressing table with a lift-up lid. Electronic safe was easy to use and the little fridge perfect for keeping drinks cool. Housekeeping was excellent. The continental breakfast was delicious, particularly the brownies! The dining room was calm and relaxing. Overall our stay was perfect and we wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel.

Excelente location, very helpful staff, good size room, comfy king size bed. Don’t recommend the buffet, not bad but too expensive for what they offer. Overall very good choice, close to everything. I do recommend it

Struttura comoda a pochi passi da Plaza de España e da Gran via La camera abbastanza confortevole ma nel prezzo non era incluso nulla. La colazione abbastanza triste per essere un buffet; il personale quasi sempre gradevole Costo esagerato per il tipo di struttura
