Location is ideal, 10 mins from everything and I do mean Location is ideal, 10-15 mins walking from everything Cleanliness yes! Breakfast above average. Service very good Room size is decent Junior Suite balcony if you get what you requested. We had some issues with our room reservation which I found to be totally unacceptable for this class of hotel. This was extremely disappointing. Annoying in what they tried but they fixed it after I spoke up. AC worked fine Now the part that needs updating again for our room (101) was the bathroom shower. Not acceptable especially the combo bathtub/shower setup. Dangerous to get out with the bathtub being so small and steep. Expected a lot better. PS put a bar or something to hold on to. It’s obvious everyone needs help they must keep grabbing the towel rack for support which has dislodged from the wall. 2nd hotel noise, not from outside the street but within the rooms. Paper thin walls and pipes clanking, doors open close. Some better soundproofing is a must. Lastly, if your a 5star, in May the pool should be opened and the gym a bit more posh but its a city hotel and I was there for 4 nights so definitely not a deal breaker but worth mentioning for folks that must have these two features. All in all I would definitely consider the Villa Real and stay here again but not expecting it to be anywhere near a 5-star hotel 4 yes but not 5. The location would be the #1 underlying reason

I must say this hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel. Missing out all nice things that 5 star hotels are having. No “making up bed” in the evening, no nice toilet articles, no extra touch in bathroom. Positive was our etage room with a large therrase. The pool was closed and thats a big minus. We booked this hotel because the pool was open at this time of the year, confirmed by phone. The entry does not make you feel its 5 star.

Excelente experiência em termos de localização e atendimento. Comida muito boa também. E quartos super silenciosos. A única inconveniência foi saber somente ao chegar, que a piscina não fica no hotel. A piscina fica a uns 5' a pé, em outro hotel do mesmo grupo. Como nós escolhemos o Gran Via pela localização e pela piscina, isso teve um impacto negativo.

J'ai passé 5 nuits dans cette hôtel propreté bien chambre assez spacieuse et assez calme pratique coffre et frigo dans la chambre,vue sur la place et le congrès .Personnel à l'accueil aimable et serviable .Très bon petit déjeuner varié au buffet ou à la carte, serveur aimable la décoration de l’hôtel avec une collection de mosaïques antiques exceptionnelles.personnel très actif car le premier jour petit problème avec la douche résolue dans l'heure. Emplacement exceptionnel proche de tout pour bien visiter à pied.Très proche des monuments Point négatif : Dommage que la piscine ne soit pas dans l'hôtel : à 3-4 minutes à pied de l'hôtel du coup pas évident dit y aller. Les lits jumeaux dans la chambre supérieure sont un peu petits pour un hôtel 5 étoiles dans les autres hôtels que j'ai fait de ce niveau les lits étaient plus grands. Petite déception pour la salle de fitness 2 vélos et un marcheur et aucun n'avaient un conteur qui fonctionnait une déception pour un hôtel de ce standing je pense que beaucoup de clients n'y vont pas car tous les jours quand je faisais mon sport je voyais personne.

La chambre n’était pas prête à 15:00. Il n’y avait pas de 3ème 🛌 lit. Par contre il y’a un canapé convertible sans aucun confort. Une fois ouvert, le canapé faisait du bruit et nous a empêché de dormir ! Hôtel mal entretenu : les plaintes se décollent ! Attention il est écrit Piscine extérieur : cela veut dire dans un autre hôtel à 200 m. Pour se changer l’autre hôtel propose les toilettes !

A pampering hotel, in an excellent location. High level service. Free mini bar in the room. Remember it was my birthday and sent a bottle of champagne and a cake to the room which was impressive. The only thing the cleanliness of the bathroom was horrible.

The property is in an ideal location and the staff was second to none! The room was a bit dated and the bathroom could use some real derp maintenance! Bed was comfortable and noise level tolerable! I think some deep cleaning in the room would help a bit too! But overall, I would use it again for sure!

Great location close to museums and Retiro Park which is huge and amazing - why go out for food when the chef at the hotel is astounding- try Risotto/ lamb ravioli/ Spanish omelet- salads are all very especially the tomato/ avocado with black olive dressing!Junior suite is spacious with an unfortunate sofa bed- very plain- bedroom is a good size with wonderful pillows and bedding- bathroom could have been cleaner- hairdryer seemed to have a short in it and kept stopping Staff is unfailing helpful- remembers your name! Travelling solo I felt extremely safe - if feeling energetic walk up to Chueca- wonderful small boutique shopping and a great wine st

Everything about short 3-night stay here was perfect, from the staff, to the facility, to the location. The only thing we didn’t like was that our room had a step down to the sitting area and that step was close enough to the foot of the bed that it could be dangerous if you needed to get up in the middle of the night. That said, we would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are poorly designed. The bed is up 2 steps and getting up during the night can easily lead to stumbling down steps as they are immediately adjacent to the foot of the bed. Room was also noisy, you could hear people in other areas of hotel

The Staff were very good however the rooms are not insulated good and you can hear everything from other room and hallways I had to change my room first night because it’s was too noisy from the outside and also the next room They changed my room to the highest level but I still had issue with the e elevator bell and cleaning stuff when they start early morning I paid a lot per night and I was expecting to sleep well at least but unfortunately it was terrible

This was my third occasion staying at the Hotel Villa Real. I've always liked the location close to Atocha station and the museums and galleries. For these reasons I have recommended it to friends. On my most recent visit I was severely disappointed. I had booked and paid for a superior room with a city view. I was initially pleased to be given a room on the first floor as soon as I arrived at about 1pm. However for the first time I experienced the noise problems mentioned in many reviews of this hotel. I could hear a guest sneezing in the next room and could clearly hear their telephone conversations. The walls are thin. the floors are timber and the corridors floored in marble so there is continuous noise from all sides. My attempts to sleep on the first night were frustrated by what sounded like the electrical motor of a lift with loud banging at the end of each episode. I thought that there must be a service lift nearby but no sign of one the following morning. My attempt to have a nap the following afternoon failed because of the same noise. It turned out that my room was directly over the entrance to the parking garage and the noise was from the mechanical opening/closing system. I was given another room to sleep in for my second and final night. I cannot understand how a room in this location could be described as "superior". The hotel is tired and old fashioned and needs a complete refurbishment.

He was obviously busy but didn’t need to slam a menu down in front of us and all but tell us he was too busy for us. This is, remember, a 5* hotel we are in. We left and didn’t return to any dining options at the property. I told the front desk staff but never heard anything back. Great location, near the Palace Hotel. Very walkable and safe. Room was lovely.

Sehr sauber. Einrichtung old school aber sehr gepflegt. Pool ist eher eine große Badewanne. Hellhörig….Service entspricht definitiv keinen 5 Sterne Standard. Nicht besonders zuvorkommend. Habe mich ein paar mal geärgert. Höflich um was gebeten. Man lies mich lange warten in der Hoffnung ich gebe auf. Als ich nochmal gefragt habe, kam eine konfuse Antwort die ein Nein bedeutet sollte. Ich bin Spanierin an der Sprache lag es nicht. Diese Unterkunft werde ich nicht mehr buchen.

Great location - conveniently walkable to all the touristy areas but a little removed from the chaos of Gran Via/Puerta de Sol. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Great AC which was important during a heatwave. Rooms were not totally soundproof which was the only downside when neighbors came in very late. Nice view from the room as well.

This hotel is amazing, both the facilities and personnel are top class. We stayed at the family suite (4 people) and had a great time; suites are clean and spacious and hotel employees will make you feel special. The only issue we had was driving to the hotel as the whole area around it is going through lots of construction and many adjacent streets are closed, we called reception and they provided some guidance to us. Keep up the good work folks and I hope to come back to this classy hotel in the heart of Madrid.

Hotel Villa Real is definitely very beautiful. One of my favorite rooms! The hotel property itself is on an interesting area; there was a commotion like a protest or something going on every morning lol. But I loved that it was a close walk to the Prado Museum and public transport. Breakfast was… okay. Not many choices but it was modest. I had a balcony and I appreciated the views of the front snd especially the sunsets. Checking in and checking out was very easy.

The level of service at the hotel was really wonderful. The staff made us feel welcome as well as very comfortable. The East 47 restaurant associated with the hotel is a major asset; we found ourselves taking many of our meals there.
