Decent size room, room was clean, breakfast buffet costs 15 euro for one, and offers a great varieties, it’s close to metro, but it’s far from the city center and touristy spots. Arrived early before noon, before Checkin time at 1pm, was told early check-in costs 30 euro then, opted to wait till 1pm

I chose Chamartín the One as I wanted somewhere easy to get to from the airport terminal 4&4s with a connection to the Metro. I don’t know Madrid that well and while the centre seems to a few tube stops away the metro and trains go in lots of different directions so this turned out to be okay with one line taking me into the centre. The hotel was nice and clean and comfortable. There’s a nice looking restaurant and I found a nearby restaurant and tapas bar called La Taberna de Baco and their burgers were delicious. The train station area is under construction so to find the hotel you need to go up a set of escalators. If you come out of the metro or trains station these are just along the wall straight ahead of you. Small signs have been attached all along this wall to show you the way. At the moment this does the job as a nice hotel but in a weird entrance through all the exposed concrete and works. I’m sure it will look amazing when finished. Had a reasonable sleep on the 7th floor. Reception is on -2 and the lift you need to put in your floor number and it assigns you one of 4 lifts. There are no buttons on the inside of the lift so make sure you are in the right one.

The hotel is on the Chamartin station that is going under mayor remodelation. The hotel did send the notification about that. It might be noisy during the day, but they stop the work in the late afternoon, so it was much calmer. On the other hand, rooms are run down, with quite uncomfortable beds, but the biggest problem is that although windows can be opened (still during the day it is quite noisy), there is no air circulating in the rooms, and the AC, even on a hot day like it was when I stayed, was not turned on. I was suffocating in the room when I entered, and I was informed that due to hotel policy, the AC (cold) would only be turned on after May 15. Still, the outside temperature was 27 °C. The wifi in the first room I was assigned was not connecting, but after coming down twice to the reception to complain, I got the new room, with a better connection (but not a better air circulation). Anyway, it is just an OK option if staying for one night. It is well connected with the center of Madrid by metro and suburban train. The station is just 2 min walk from the hotel.
