NH Madrid Nacional

Excellent hotel in a great location, parking right underneath with direct access to the hotel. Located right on the main tourist bus routes and a 10-15 min walk up to Plaza Mayor and then shopping areas.

The hotel room is nice and big for that area of Madrid. Everything was clean and the area around felt very safe. The hotel restaurant, Tablefina, was good, maybe a bit pricey compared with other places nearby but the food and drinks were very good. If you have a car, be prepared to park in an underground parking which is accessible with the elevator from reception but that is not own or affiliated with the hotel. Need to be prepaid on-line (did not work for me) or pay every time at the exit (max 31Euro/day).

The room was very clean, the bar had excellent menu choices and the hotel staff was very professional.

This hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Atocha train station and conveniently located near the metro station and many restaurants. Even though the front of this hotel can be busy and noisy, mix of people hanging out due to the buses stop is right infront. The hotel itself is quite safe thanks to the hotel security who watch everyone at the lobby like a hawk. This hotel provides welcome drink during the day at the lobby with fresh apples and oranges, this is a very nice touch! The lobby is very cozy and clean, they have a restaurant right by the entrance serve very good food and provide great service with a reasonable price. The hotel has buffet breakfast in the morning but with a price tag of 26 Euro, I will pass. The elevator, hallway, and rooms are clean, and no unpleasant odor, beds and pillows are clean and quite comfortable. Temperature control in the room, however, is quite difficult to adjust, it seems not responding to adjustment in temperature. There are rooms with window facing the street which can be noisy at night, and I mean throughout the night! and rooms with window facing the inside patio of the hotel, these rooms would be ideal for light sleepers. Right across the hotel is the botanic garden, the Cascada Parque El Retiro and the Crystal Palace. Museo Nacional del Prado and the Reina Sofia Art Museum are also few minutes walk from this hotel. The Cibeles Fountain and it's nearby attractions are also within walking distance.

Hotel excelente, bem localizado. Como fica numa area movimentada, o barulho de carros e sirenes é constante, mas nada que atrapalhe a estada. Equipe muito solícita, atendimento nota mil. Quarto super equipado. Cafe da manhã com muitas opçõe. O único detalhe que poderiam melhorar é a academia. Nota 10 em todos quesitos.

Gostei bastante do hotel. Localização boa. 200 metros a pé da estação da arte, perto da estação atocha e do parque del retiro. Quarto limpo, confortável e com tudo muito novo. Banheiro muito bom. Apenas um ponto negativo: a academia minúscula. Não dá mais que 3 pessoas treinando. Não tem aparelhos de musculação, apenas halteres até 16 quilos e 3 máquinas de cardio.

Awesome location, modern and spacious. Restaurant in the hotel offers wonderful options for breakfast and a full bar service to relax after a day of tourism. Highly recommend it

Nice, modern, clean hotel in an historical building. The service, lobby restaurant and breakfast buffet are all good. The location is very convenient as it is about a 5-minute walk to/from the train station, a couple of the major art museums, and Retiro Park. Plaza Mayor and most other city center attractions are about a 15-minute walk. Our room felt a little small and cramped, but I know this is common in Europe. We did enjoy the balcony. The hotel sits on a busy street, but we did not hear any noise from our room.

Excellent location close to Atocha. Each superior room has coffee machine, bottled water and they even have complimentary fruits and water in the lobby. Spacious room with all necessary amenities

Great hotel, clean rooms. We were there with our dog and the cleaning lady arranged our room with everything we needed for the dog. I would like to thank her again for her help and dedication.

The inside of our room smelled like cigarettes, the bathroom at times would smell like sewage. The doors to the rooms slam when they close so you can hear everyone shutting their door. The location is good and the service was great. I just wasn’t satisfied with the condition on the room it could be because it’s an older building.

Refurbished and clean. Rooms well insulated and quiet.

Standard room was clean and comfortable with good linens and towels. The staff was helpful. The lobby restaurant was good for dessert and a nightcap. The location is very close to the Prado as well as many restaurants.

Great location. They serve a delicious breakfast. The bed was clean and comfortable. Lovely balcony! I think the room needs a bit of deep cleaning. I did yoga in the floor and noticed the edges were dusty, not very clean, needs cleaning and new paint to keep the 4 stars hotel standard. Not very green friendly. Should give guests the option to accumulate hotel points by having the sheets / towels not replaced on a daily basis when staying for a week like I did. Overall a great place to stay!

Very quiet, nice, clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Convenient for walking to the museums and shopping. I would stay here again.

Clean room

Nice hotel very well located near Prado, Reina Sofia and Atocha station. The windows are super thick but there is still some noise coming from the street. The beds are a little too hard. The personnel is extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is very clean, pleasant and modern. The restaurant in the lobby is excellent. Good experience overall.

I highly recommend this room with the cute terrace and peaceful view of the park.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The room was spacious and quiet. However, there was no tea/coffee maker - an unpleasant surprise from a 4-star hotel. They only offer complimentary water in the lobby till early evening. Breakfast was very good. Though one has to keep in mind that on the weekends it is available only from 8am. If you book any local tours (most start around 9am with meeting points not anywhere close to the hotel), you literally have no time to use the breakfast buffet the property offers.

The internet was very slow

We were offering a room on 6th floor with view to park and VERY NOISY street – I Was told this was upgrade room – little more extra space and one extra chair. The noisy was just too much so we go with 8th floor standard room with NO view. Quiet – YES and extreme tidy bedroom and almost no amenities mean NO kettle or Coffee/The and one chair. Absolut NOT worth the 230 Eur per night here even the reception lady on Oct 13 was really friendly and try to help.

Great location. Short walk to transportation, park and museums. Incredible balcony on 7th floor. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The apples and water in the lobby was appreciated. Fantastic water pressure and abundant hot water in the shower. The only downside for us was the mattress was uncomfortably hard. Would recommend to anyone visiting Madrid.

Its a good location and quiet at night and nice however was disappointed that for a 4 star does not have a bath, ability to log into netflix on the tv and really bad plumbing noises. A bit expensive for what you get.

Room too small even for european standars, bed small for a queen size

We had a room on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy. Street noise all night (Sat/Sun). Didn’t like this. Beds were good and hotel was nice. For the price, I expected better soundproofing than a 3 star hotel.

Really wonderful staff in all departments. Beautiful lobby and common spaces to lounge or work. Oversized room and really appreciated a free upgrade with views of Retiro park.

Knowing we were flying in from the US and would arrive early I emailed the property to request and early check in. Never received a reply. When we arrived around 11:00 we were told we would have to wait until 3:00 to check in. After a long flight we were exhausted and my husband was not feeling well. The sofas in the lobby were miserably uncomfortable. We sat for about 3 hours before my husband pleaded with the front desk staff to let us into our room. This was clearly not the best way to begin our trip. The rest of our stay was fine. The room was nice and the staff was pleasant enough. The woman working at the guest relations desk was very informative and helped us make the most of our 1 day in Madrid.

Excelente estadia, excelente localização, excelente café da manhã, excelente estado, ambiente etc mas excelente mesmo a atendimento da equipe de front desk todas as vezes que solicitei, informação ou precisei trocar a chave do quarto ou até mesmo fazer checkout fui tratado com cordialidade e empatia. Quero parabenizar essa equipe deste hotel. De nada adianta quarto bom, café da manhã bom, localização boa se as pessoas não são educadas e cordiais. Parabéns equipe NH Madrid Nacional

Friendly staff, very accommodating Convenient and close to many attractions

My stay at the NH Madrid Nacional hotel was very pleasant; upon arrival our reservation was not appearing int he system but the front desk staff helped us sort this out. Overall the staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was very varied and enjoyable and the area is very close to a subway station, the Atocha station and the Royal Gardens, which makes it very convenient. There are also a variety of museum close by. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would highly recommend this hotel.

The reception people were really helpful finding a place to eat

I will start by saying this may be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I am a business traveler and due to my constant trips, I am a Titanium member of Marriott Hotels. Since NH was started by the same developer that started the AC Marriotts, I decided to give it a shot. This is no 4 star hotel at all. It is 2 at best and that is pushing it. The staff were very rude and slow. The room barely had a bed with a hard as a rock mattress, a chair, and a desk. All these pieces of furniture were damaged and looked like purchased from IKEA or something cheaper. There was no complimentary water, no coffee maker and the toiletry items were not replaced and of very low quality. I asked for water and they charged me 4.5 Euros. I will never again stay at an NH property and will advise my friends and colleagues to refrain from staying in them. I am not looking for refunds, apologies or points. I just want to express my disappointment and warn anybody that considers staying here.

Wonderful staff, caring and attentive. Special thanks to Tania. I needed help printing special documents and she was a great help. Rooms are big enough. With all the necessary amenities. Always a security person in the lobby. Makes you feel as save as one can be in the center of Madrid. Excellent location. Close to everything.

Está muy bien ubicado, y por donde está el Radisson Blu hay unos restaurantes con buena comida y calles donde se pueden encontrar bares y restaurantes. Y está cerca de muchas atracciones de Madrid a las que se puede llegar caminando.

Walking distance to many of the main attractions in Madrid. Prado museum, parque del retiro, cybeles fountain, anthropology museum. Etc

Zimmer modern und Badezimmer groß genug, jeden Tag Reinigung. Zahnpflege, Lotion, Wasser und Wasserkocher und 3 deutscher TV Sender -) Hotel ist in beste Lager zu Fuß an vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten. werde immer buchen!

Location is great, across from the Atocha train station where we arrived after taking the metro from the airport. Walked up a ramp and crossed 2 streets to get to the hotel. About a 15 min walk to city center. Across the street from the beautiful park. Lots of restaurants in the area. If you’re a light sleeper there’s a lot of noise from the street, people cars etc. we had a balcony room facing Atocha street on the 4th floor. Beds and pillows comfy and very clean room. You have shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion and dental kit.

This property is conveniently located near the Atocha train station, the Estacion Del Arte metro stop, the Prado and Reina Sofia art museums, and a wide variety of dining options. The staff at the property were all kind and helpful.

Lovely historic hotel, very convenient for the Atocha main rail station and Art Triangle museums. Right by the metro for getting to other parts of the city.

Fantastic location. Across the street from a botanical garden and just s couple blocks from fantastic museums, including The Prado. About a 5-10 minute walk from the metro station. Beautiful hotel with great views and friendly staff.

Great location close to all the major museums

Very convenient location: close to Atocha station, across the street from Prado museum and the botanical garden….A delicious buffet breakfast with a beautiful view on a leafy street. I would stay there again.

I not only stayed here, but took most of my meals here. I found the staff universally friendly, but the real standout—who made a huge difference in the success of my stay in Madrid, and onto Cordoba — was Alvaro, the Guest Services Manager/Concierge. He’s not only thoroughly competent and professional, but even volunteered on some things that made my whole Madrid experience so much better. The restaurant was a challenge for me — the food is excellent, but it is understaffed — I had to wait at least 45 minutes each time to be served — even late night,and it’s hard to order a ‘light’ meal here. They need to expand their offerings and have a few items that international travelled s want (EG. Salade Nicoise; a range of soups; simple sandwiches; even an omelette) I know they are proudly Spanish, but due to ther time it took to get served and fact it was hard to order “light” I twice went out and purchases lunch elsewhere, nad gtook it to my room to eat. To repeat this is NOT a criticism of the quality of the food — just the service, and the range of choices. ALSO CHARGING 4 EUROS FOR A SMALL BOTTLE OF SPRING WATER IS SILLY (AIRPORT PRICES).

Always enjoy staying with NH Hotels and this stay was amazing. Fantastic breakfast buffet everyday.
