OYO The Baltimore Hotel

Nice hotel, clean and the staff were really nice. Night staff opened the main door and welcomed you in throughout the night. The room was very small but was comfortable for the two nights we stayed. Breakfast is included and was good choice of cereal, fruit and full cooked breakfast. The only down sides were that a double room only offered one bath towel for 2 people to have showers and no toilet roll in the bathroom. We had to find someone to get toilet roll and another towel.

This Hotel has a genuine Kerala experience restaurant that you could only experience here or in Kerala, India itself. You don't have to fly to Kerala to experience genuine Kerala food.

The hotel is clean and the facilities have clearly just been upgraded. The staff were very friendly and the South Indian restaurant in the building is really delicious. Breakfast was good, but it was quite noisy with other guests during the night so we didn’t get much sleep.

Great booking in, met by very polite young man who escorted us to our room and went thro the security system to our room. Bar service not available until after 7. We went to the bar at 8.30 for a drink and to order food but no-one around to take our order

Good free breakfast easy parking

There was plenty of parking, friendly reception staff took me to my room. Pleasant breakfast experience with boiled eggs.

We found the Baltimore a really friendly and exceptionally clean hotel for our stay. The staff were always available and ready to solve any queries we had , We would definitely use it again next time we visit this area

The room was the size of a cupboard - the shower was covered in black mould or slimie rust at one point I initially thought it was faeces (including the shower head) bedroom window could not be fully closed and was again surrounded by black mould

Our room was unhabitable, with urine and blood stains all over the mattress. We left within the hour (as soon as we uncovered this). The hotel have since refused to refund our booking, despite highlighting these health concerns. I would avoid this hotel at all costs!

It was an ok place to stay for working away. Cheap with early breakfast timings, the breakfast buffet was really nice and the curry I had on an evening was great. Several things really let things down, I had to stay in several rooms over the course of 6 nights as one had a broken shower tray, one had a childs toilet seat fitted to a regular toilet which meant I couldn't sit down on it and the other had no TV signal at all. They all had grubby shower cubicles with black mold all over the grout and shower heads and one released a drain smell when you used the shower. The carpark has several abandonded cars with flat tyres in it. I was constantly asked to leave reviews at evening meal and breakfast which was very annoying as I was trying to eat, the staff would bring over the 'tap to review' slate and stand there waiting whilst I was just wanting to eat and mind my own business. I said I would do it when I checked out but was still asked at breakfast all the time. The final night 2 members of staff started emptying wheelie bins into a larger metal bin at 02:45am and made a huge amount of noise. Smashing glass, banging and loud talking/laughing; completely unacceptable. It wasn't bad for what I needed it for which is a place to sleep, wash and eat in the morning, definately a hotel suited to tradesmen working away.

Mouldy, worn down hotel in rough hoods.

This was renovated around 5 years ago and looks to have been left to deteriorate, such that the original carpets are worn / dirty in hallways, room I stayed in; there was mould in shower joins; the fitted coffee shelves on the fitted headboard were literally hanging off, both sides; the mattress was very old, tired, with springs sticking through, the cushioning long since melted away; the shower soap dispensers were broken and empty. The shower sliding door hinges at the bottom were detached and not affixed, such that the door was loose. There was only sound, without picture on the room TV. Staff said they would come and see; but did not. The windows were dirty, still with remnants of Santa stickers, half peeled off from when I presume a family stayed there long term. The only positive was that there was a small bourbon biscuit for one, albeit it was a triple room. Turning to breakfast, it was so, so sad and depressing. It comprised rice crispies in 2 out of 3 dispensers and a museli in the 3rd. They all looked so tired and stale. There was beans, boiled eggs, tomatoes and sausages. There were nil fruit. Nil pastries. The staff did toast and coffee to order. That's it. The difficulty is that Middlesbrough has only 4 national chains, which are typically sold out with workers / contractors. Therefore this sort of "hotel" is the next available level. The price is relatively cheap. A member of staff helpfully ordered a taxi for me and provided hot coffee / toast - thank you.

Shockingly cold, the room was freezing, I've never been so consistently cold in my life, I then tried to get a shower to warm up, the options were cold water or colder water, the shower was mouldy. Thin floors, people were running about all night, car park was blocked for 30 minutes I had to sit outside. The room wasn't what was pictured. Would not return

I stayed here for my graduation and couldn’t believe how this hotel passed audits in the UK. Very deplorable and nasty condition. Musty and stinky bathroom. Looks like it wasn’t cleaned before they reserved for us. Room smells, wanky and broken tiles within the entire floors.

The exterior of the hotel was good. All downhill from there. Bedroom floor not cleaned properly, had to scrape something off! No decorations in room, not even mirror. Bathroom unbelievable. Notice on wall warning of delicate shower doors, black mould everywhere. Shower controls and head didn’t look safe to use. Toilet roll holder barely hanging on wall. Toilet seat not fixed. No famine personal hygiene disposal available. Only 1 open bin located in bathroom. Ceiling light not working over handbasin so very poor when using mirror. Handbasin was very shallow. Very poor cold water pressure but hot was good except when you turned tap on, with the shallow handbasin, the water just hit the basin and splashed straight out. Bar was not open. I saw a menu on reception desk with curry type dishes, but no info on opening times. In fact, check in consisted of handing me the key card, telling me room number and location and advising breakfast times. Breakfast very poor: cooked breakfast offered with boiled eggs (in shells). My husband asked for fried egg and when it came some 15 mins later, it bounced across the plate it was so overcooked. Poor selection of fruit - bananas were almost totally black. Pastries were dry. If you’re considering staying here, just don’t!

Walls are paper thin. I could hear someones pjone vibratinh doenstairs! People coming in and out at 2am, sat outside talking. Lumpy bed and pillows. Bathroom was clean and staff were friendly

Room has no table and chair, no top light, only weak light on small bed side table. It was not possible to close the window so was very noisy all night and thanks God it was summer, because with with always open window it must be freezing cold in a room from autumn to spring. last minute booking. Very small room. very dated. The bathroom was awful. Tile on the floor cracked and loose, the smallest sink I have ever used! Saff were however, very pleasent.

Staff really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was ok, could have been warmer. We were in room 101 which was a double despite booking a 3 needed room. It was very noisy, from outside but also noise inside the room. Walls seem thin so could hear others coming and going. Got no sleep whatsoever.

Much better than longlands 100yrds away . But whoever was running up n down the corridor all night doors banging .constantly i get no sleep which is why i rated it low.

Rather run down, absolute minimum and full of almost aggressive posters telling you how to behave. Sadly these didn't work, as the noisy guests in the room next to ours got picked up by the police in the middle of the night. The passcode to our room also expired after one day, and had to be reset. The breakfast buffet was lukewarm. But the staff was friendly and welcoming.

We came to stay cos of a family emergency and booked late in the afternoon arriving late that night at about 22:45. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, the receptionist booking us in was very kind and polite and walked us to our room ensure we could use the door codes and knew where we where going, the staff regularly checked in on us to insure there where no issues with our stay, breakfast was included and staff where very attentive making sure we had all we needed. Teas and coffees where brought quickly, The staff made the difficult stay the was needed much easier we no added stress

Upon arriving the building is very nice and is close to the park, takeaway shops and corner shop. Staff were lovely, kind and accommodating. Showed us to our room and gave us all info we needed. However, the next morning at 8am a staff member opened our hotel room door looked inside and closed the door. Me and my partner were very confused and felt very unsafe. Another issue that came up was from one of the staff members telling us that breakfast ended at 10:30am when it actually ended at 9:30am. However, the staff in the dining and kitchen area were lovely and still provided us with whatever food and drink we wanted. When me and my partner checked out of our room we spoke to one of the workers at the front of the hotel about the issue with safety and someone entering our bedroom at 8am that morning. The employee of the hotel stated that had never happened before and definitely didn’t happen. This made me upset as I was bringing up this issue due to safety and possible ill intentions for someone coming into our bedroom unannounced. The employee did not like that I had pointed this out and was not happy I reinstated that I would not have been complaining about the issue if it didn’t happen. I then advised they reviewed their cctv in their own time to identify this individual and why they had came into our room. Apart from this the stay was nice, however would not return due to safety concerns.

I'm not one to write negative reviews. However i believe it's necessary to forewarn others. The hotel is dirty, the room we were allocated had a faulty electric box, doors hanging off the wardrobe. It was dusty, smelt of weed. The receptionist follows you to your room, that was after taking my ID and a £50 cash deposit, this wasnt advertised. It was uncomfortable and unsafe. No surprise then, that we didn't stay. I left the property within 5 minutes. Never to return again. The rude, argumentative staff member refused to refund us, despite this we left, booked elsewhere and are out of pocket. 100% the right decision to leave. And we remained polite, despite their argumentative demeanour. We were told we wouldn't get the breakfast we had paid for, thry said it wasn't included. I had the booking details showing breakfast. It's worth paying more for somewhere inhabitable.

Where to begin… I booked one night in this hotel, was close to where I needed to be for work. Parked my car at 10pm, didn’t meet any staff as received check in details via text. Code entry to room. Basic but clean room. Left at 8am. Few months afterwards I receive a letter from a debt collection agency regarding an unpaid parking ticket from parking eye. I contacted the hotel, they informed me ‘it was nothing to do with them’ contact Parking Eye. In turns out parking eye manage the car park at the hotel. So I’ve received a 115 pound parking ticket for leaving my hire car in the hotel car park. Which is advertised as free parking. The hotel don’t want to know, have been extremely unhelpful and not apologetic. Now I either go down the legal route or pay 115 quid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on the lack of communication and general lack of interest in my predicament. The desk was unmanned on check in and no barrier at parking. Resulting in me receiving stressful communication threatening legal action if charges are not paid!!

Clean, staff are lovely, very helpful, accessible to the town

The property was well placed for the city centre. Limited on site facilities, but was reflected in the overall cost of the stay.

Came for football west brom vs Brough hotel 23 mins walk to stadium and quite area and good price

We were very happy with our room the staff were very friendly and supportive to our needs we will stay here again. And only 25 minutes walk to riverside stadium for concert. Breakfast was nice also and liked the tea and coffee in the room

Used the hotel as a stop over for a football game.Rooms are a little tired,but clean.Breakfast was very good.Overall good value for money.

We stayed for a business trip for 2 days, room wasn’t as big as we thought it would be but it did the job. The staff were very friendly, we had our toddler with us and they were very accommodating and friendly if we needed anything they would meet our needs straight away. Breakfast was fully halal and delicious, staff kept bringing us food out upon request as there wasn’t much out and they made it fresh. Overall a great experience and we will definitely book again

Very happy with our stay. Our room was very clean and had plenty of space. Shower was great and the added extras were there. i forgot shower gel but the was already shower gel already provided. I noticed a strong smell of cigarettes upstairs which is a no no for me, Fire hazard! Another negative was breakfast, I've never experienced hard boiled eggs to go with a full English. There was no toast and the bacon wasn't normal back bacon.

The staff were great nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good. I dined in their restaurant at night and the Indian food was excellent. Will be going back when up there again
