This is a bit of a run down former Manor House. I got to my room in the neighbouring building after being spanked for £5 to park, accompanied by a completely illogical excuse for the charges. (Apparently it’s to stop locals filling the car park, but they already require registration of number plates and fine transgressors, so if that doesn’t keep spaces available I don’t see how £5 will.) Dorgard device in corridor was beeping due to a low battery, they already knew about this when I phoned down as I could hear it from my bed. Despite it being a non-essential fire safety device (I know of what I speak) and a very easy fix, single screw to remove battery, they said they couldn’t do anything. So I unpacked and got ready for bed, whilst watching the terrible to signal. They then opted to come to my room and offer a swap, labelled an “upgrade”. I got dressed and crossed to the main building, climbed to the second floor and the new key card wouldn’t work! Back down and another apology that room 14 needs the key issued as 50-something. When I finally got to my room the curtains were hanging on by a thread, bathroom was dated and floor was squeaky and uneven. Breakfast was rubbish. Bacon and sausages were inedible and tough. Coffee was stale and tepid.

Delightful and very helpful staff. Hotels.com need to make clear that the parking is now chargeable. Good breakfast.

Great place, lovely lodge clean quiet and very spacious. Staff were very friendly helpful and accommodating. On check in they were so informative and offered a free drink at the bar. Parking on site and near lodges. Area quiet historic and beautiful with good retail facilities about 10min drive.definitely will be returning for a longer visit.

The hotel was ok, the room was good, plenty of space, comfortable bed. The issue we had was that they had a wedding there. They only told us 2 days before we stayed that the restaurant was shut and there was a wedding. We had to walk through the wedding guests to get to reception, the bar was packed with wedding guests. The party went on until 1am. The only good thing about the restaurant being shut was that we found a fantastic pub across the road, The Anchor. I would never stay at this hotel again, we felt cheated, but we would definitely go back to The Anchor

Room smelt musty and of smoking!! No tissues,poor lighting, cost 5 pounds to park. Restaurant steak meal was very poor.

Friendly staff, easy parking. Basic accommodation in need of a refresh, lI stayed in the past and was hoping it may have been refurbished but the cottage rooms are quite dated. Lovely village setting. Good breakfast.

First room on the front main road had no hot water at all. Reception said they had issues earlier in the day but thought it had been fixed. No problem a move was sorted and was better overlooking the pool at the back. They seemed to have issues with getting the rooms serviced. 3 days and no one came near for cleaning replenishment of tea or even a biscuit, even after hanging the please service signs. Email sent after booking to say no restaurant on the Saturday evening due to a function and they don’t serve food on a Sunday anyway. Stayed here years ago on business and it’s no way near as good as it was. Not the usual standard for a Best Western

Room was clean and tidy however could do with a refresh. Staff friendly and helpful. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but menu looked good. Only gripe, parking, you are charged an extra £5 on top of your bill to park overnight in the car park. Not sure why this is being implemented because there isn’t anything around the area that would cause people to park there overnight other than the hotel residents.

Hotel is a little dated but well located in the village with a restaurant and pub within a couple minutes walk away. Service is a little erratic with occasions where there was no one serving at the bar with a few customers waiting.

The area was amazing, the Restaurant staff (especially the head waitress) was so lovely and helpful. Our room was lovely but had lots of cobwebs everywhere you looked in the bedroom.

My main issue was with cleanness of the room, carpet was vey dirty with marks all over . I put the “do not disturb” on the door but staff still did come in when i was not there and moved thing around and changed the bedside lamp which i ask reception and they could not explain it, the old lamp was working and the replacement was dusty and grubby so i dont see the reason!! The double bed was consist of two single bed and one was broken ( had a deep in one end) so totally should not have been there. Some more info issues which i dont cant bother to explain. Sadly not going back. They may may nicer rooms as this is a big hotel but my issue is if they give this room to customers that doesnt tell a good story.

For the price very happy. Was upgraded too which was a bonus. Nice clean hotel and next door to a great restaurant Blue Orchid.

It was a lovely hotel to stay in, nestled in a beautiful little village. The hotel's history was just as impressive. The breakfast there is a must and I really recommend it! On the not so good side would be the cleaning... we found dental floss things under our bed, as well as some yucky hankies, so not the best... what's more our room didn't experience house cleaning despite being there two nights. So overall it was a lovely experience, it's just the cleaning that could be improved (regarding our experience there).

Very clean and very quiet

The cleanliness of room could of been better. Net curtails had black mold along with both windows. TV didn't work. Early morming disturbance (3.00am) with Night Manager knocking loudly on near by door.

We had booked a suite with a king sized bed and were advised a couple of days before arrival that there was a wedding at the hotel and our room was above the disco that was playing for the wedding until midnight...

We had a lovely time at Best Western Moore Place Hotel in Aspley Guise. The room and bathroom were a good size, but the floor was on a slope (it was an old property) and I felt as though I was rolling out of bed. There were also a few cobwebs about, but other than that it was clean.

The room was in an annex which was very poor for noise and size. Also the heat was over powering and the window opened directly onto the main road which was quite busy during the day but thankfully quiet by night. The shower was over the bath and because there was no shower matt it was very slippy which meant it could not be used without sitting down. Overall a lovelly hotel spoilt by the rooms in the annex.

Room was tiny and dated. Toilet flush was broken and plumbing made very loud noises

The staff at the Hotel were great especially the lady on Reception who was very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel bedrooms are a little outdated but perfectly fine. We stayed in the cottage and I found the walls were very thin and I could hear the people next door and above.

Stayed in a cottage, but should point out it’s nothing like a cottage. Noise from the upstairs room due to squeaky floorboards and then they snored all night!

Apart from having to change rooms later in the evening because of no hot water, apart from the it is a very nice hotel, close to Bedford and amazing staff, definitely worth a stop over

Shower cold but otherwise as expected

Quick night at hotel. Out in one of the cottages. Seemed fine. Bathrooms def need updating. Can’t change the temp on the shower.

Breakfast was good thanks. Room could do with an update. My business colleague said his room (60) was not ideal with no room to move around the bed! Could only access from one side. My room (51) was OK, but certainly now needs an upgrade. Looking a bit tired, and for the price per night paid, expected a bit more. Staff all very friendly, check is was very slow, through no fault of the person on the desk.

Frequent visitors to this hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful especially Angie.

I have stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights, most weeks for the last 3 years. Service always impeccable. The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared.

Cracking hotel the staff were excellent and the breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time at a hotel stay. The staff made it they were so attentive and vibrant.

Excellent service - had an issue that was dealt with brilliantly - thank you very much! Great night's sleep so booked another night the next morning. The area and building are fabulous - highly recommend a stay here.

Stop over prior to early hospital appointment. Room was spacious and very comfortable. It was a cold winter evening but heating was excellent and we were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and there was no shortage of hot water for bath or shower. Breakfast was available for our early start and we both had full English. One of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a hotel. Cooked and presented perfectly. Staff in all services bright and friendly.

Staff were attentive and helpful. Lovely hotel with spacious and clean rooms. All my group of friends commented on the quality of the breakfast and the staff on duty in the restaurant.

The room was much better than expected for a 3-star hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent - not greasy

Room was nice. But the toilet was not working properly, receptions toilets were down for maintenance. Breakfast was bad, crossings were burnt, muffins were dry and refills took a while. Evening meal was not worth the cost of £28.00 each.
