Really nice motel and the staff were really nice, however there was no restriction on the use of the very noisy laundry rooms. It would be much better if the use of these items was restricted to reasonable hours, or that the equipment was replaced with much less noisy ones.

Good value for a quick and fun overnight stay. Enjoyed the pool (especially because no one else happened to be there).. Pool was heated just enough.. A pleasant surprise, but not sure if they keep that up 365. Even better was the super hot, good pressure, spacious shower afterwards.. (bc it was dark/cold by the time we got out). Surprisingly bigger property than expected so kudos to all the staff keeping it tidy and clean.

We opted to have room cleaning daily (not automatic) and it did not happen every day. Fixtures in room are extra tall (shower shelf, clothes rail in closet, mirror in bathroom). I am an average height woman and had a hard time with this. A full length mirror in room would be nice as well, especially with how high the mirror is in the bathroom.

The hotel was very clean but very tired. The carpet needs replacing and the curtains needed hooks replacing. There is a basin under the sink to do your dishes in. Its very noisy with road noise and other occupiers

Easy walk to beach and activities of Tahunanui. Could definitely do with some upgrading.Large comfy bed, shame that the other single bed took up space too. While it was noted at the time , the room smelt so heavily of bleach we had to air it.Yes, I spoke to staff the next day and they said we could have been moved but assumed it was over zealous cleaners.

Great location, relaxed vibe. Perfect for a short stay. Friendly housekeeping staff! Missing a full length mirror, shower pressure was poor, we didn’t enjoy washing dishes in a bucket and using bathroom vanity to drain and rinse.

The pool and proximity to the beach was great. The shower was a continuous problem with the water changing between hot and cold constantly, and just a bit of a struggle getting to sleep at night with guests above us thumping around heavily late into the evening. Other than that it was a nice stay.

The Beachcomber is an excellent place to stay. Aleisha and her staff provide excellent service, and go out of their way to look after their customers. I left my cell phone in the room. When I was at the airport, I realised my error in leaving my cell phone in the room. I contacted Aleisha, who went to the room, secured my cell phone, and then brought the cell phone to me at the airport in time for me to catch my flight. That to me me, is going the extra mile in providing outstanding service. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Beachcomber should they be visiting Nelson.

Rude and argumentative staff member at reception (older woman). There was an issue with Expedia/Hotel. Expedia quoted me one price, the hotel then charged me a higher price. The staff member blamed Expedia, then blamed me for using Expedia and said it’s not her problem. I haven’t had this issue with any other motel/hotel. She was unhelpful and seemed to enjoy being confrontational. I stay in Nelson 15-20 nights per year. What could have been a simple $12 credit is now a loss, upwards of $3200 per year for them, plus negative feedback. The hotel itself is nice but not worth this hassle in my opinion.
