Amazing trip with my daughter. We celebrated her 6th birthday. The hotel kindly decorated the room which made it so exciting for the birthday girl. The staff had excellent customer service skills. We paid a couple of visits to the pool which was very enjoyable and they provided towels. Take a pound coin for a locker. Plenty to choose from at breakfast and the bar meals were lovely. A lovely, comfortable stay and very relaxing.

I liked that the pool and gym was free to use but the staff member at the desk for the facilities was not friendly or helpful at all and needs to work on his customer service. Also the pool area and changing rooms were poorly cleaned hair and dirt everywhere but I understand it was 18:00 so probably fairly used at that point. I was annoyed that I was charged for parking which I’ve never had to do at another hotel. It was a lovely foyer and lounge area really nice and spacious. The room wasn’t in the best condition and there was a few hairs in the bath but everywhere else was clean enough. The guy at the front desk of the hotel was very helpful.

Enjoyed my stay, pool was lovely, shame about the size of the changing facilities and only one working hairdryer. Limited choices on the dinner menu. Overall a good stay, good location, clean and spacious room, polite staff and good breakfast choices.

All excellent, clean room comfortable bed, quiet. Staff are great, very friendly . Particular thanks to Vincent on reception and Andreea in the restaurant. They all seem happy in their work which comes over to guests. Breakfast is excellent, loads of choice both hot and cold food. We would definitely stay again

Room had a damp problem. On arrival could see the carpet looked very worn and the room had a musty smell. (See photo) Was woken up early by a pitter patter of water which must have been from a shower leak in the room above. I did approach reception before going to bed to ask for a non slip bath Matt, they said that someone would come, they never did. Breakfast was no better. We came down at nine o clock. We were clearly the last people booked in for breakfast and all the buffet was empty and looking rather sorry and not appealing. We had to wait for individual items to be brought out so had to wait for individual breakfast items to be brought out and ate breakfast piecemeal.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Vincent on reception was great! So friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Bed was very noisy, i was reluctant to move in the night. Sink was cracked which is extremely unhygienic. Pool area was nice. Changing rooms weren't great. Shower cubicles small, only a rainfall shower head, and floors were dirty. Person is the spa wasn't the friendliest. Breakfast was lovely. Restaurant staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

We had a family room with a 12 week old and a 3 year old. We were in a family room on the first floor and had to carry the pushchair up 2 flights of stairs every time we left the room. The bathroom was dirty and it had faeces on the side of the toilet. My wife had to clean this up just before our 3 year old went to use it. It was a shame because it’s a nice hotel, it had a lovely pool area and bar etc.

The bath was dirty and had body hair in it, they came to clean it and just brushed the hair down the plug hole leaving the bath still dirty. The staff were amazing through, so accommodating and helpful, bar and food prices extortionate though and the menu said you could have certain food then when you tried to order it they added almost five pound on saying the menu needed updating.

The Doubletree is compact and bijou but also comfortable. The location right next to the M4 can’t be beaten for the traveller or visitor to Newbury. Clean room, standard buffet breakfast, friendly staff. Main down side when I visited was a cold room (it’s Winter). The duvet option was as thin as a sheet and the aircon didn’t heat so the solution was electric heaters in each room. This should probably be reviewed and the decor spruced up. However the hotel is convenient and also quiet, considering its location.

Very nice hotel, certainly feels special when you first walk in. The lobby and reception area is quite large. Room was spacious and clean with a large TV. The beds were pretty comfy though personally I didn’t get on with the pillow. Aircon system didn’t work, though this seems to be a trait in most places now that are a little older. Breakfast was a highlight in the morning, very nice spread of hot and cold food, not overly busy and service was efficient.

The entrance lobby, bar and restaurant area were great, and perfect for the event we attended at the hotel. The room we stayed in was certainly tired and in need of updating. The staff were great, communicating well and were very friendly.

Wow. Right on the moter way - we hadn’t realised- but we choose it cause it looked nice in the photos, and reasonably priced for our NewZealand $. It’s infact old and does need a bit of a spring cleaning. There’s no lift and the stair well has short steep steps. The bed was comfy, the aircon awesome but the carpet felt like it needed a clean. The pool pleasant and staff nice but not friendly. Breakfast was a mess as did dinner look.we decided to not go there. There was a bus tour, dinner was geared around them and they cleaned out breakfast which had us and others waiting for food which they couldn’t keep up with- it wasnt great. It seemed like it was a hotel, the gas workers used as there were groups of guys and tour bus passengers who were on mass. The parking was easy and included in the price. At end of day the carpark was filled with gas workers vans. An ok stop on route yes it’s a 5 from us. A shame cause it could be great.

Loved the customer service at this hotel, they gave our little one a goodie bag with colouring pencils and also some warm cookies for us all. A wonderful surprise! I asked for a glass of milk for our daughter which they brought to our room along with wonderful food we ordered from the restaurant. Easy check in and out and very reasonable. Will be staying again. To receptionists and baristas were super!

We felt the service in parts was very good however there were times when it was extremely poor. The most annoying incidence was when I asked at front desk if we had breakfast included. After some time, I was told no it was not included and had to pay an extra £18. We needed to get to work, time was precious. My colleague came down to check out and asked the same question and was told yes she does have it. I also did but was given the wrong info. All very annoying. Also, no plug in the bath which removed the option to take a bath. On arrival, the receptionist was quite unfriendly towards my colleague. Not a great experience. We also asked for wine with dinner but was given a different wine to what we asked for. Many dinner choices were not available including the mezze and halloumi tries. It was poor.

Reception gave a key to a new customer at 2330. It just so happened to be a key to our room!! We had a complete stranger enter our room at 11.30pm. This was not acceptable on any level!! Hotel apologised but didn’t seem shocked or appalled!!
Reception gave a key to a new customer at 2330. It just so happened to be a key to our room!! We had a complete stranger enter our room at 11.30pm. This was not acceptable on any level!! Hotel apologised but didn’t seem shocked or appalled!!

Overall this is a really good hotel to stay at and it was priced accordingly. The staff were lovely, kind and courteous and were always smiling. The room was better than a Travelodge and probably on par with a Premier Inn but without the price tag. It was over a hundred quid to stay at a local Premier Inn and this was perfect at £68 for a Friday evening. The bar area was really nice, spacious, comfortable and relaxing, add to that the bar food was equally as nice. It was a great location for my journey and right next to the A34 so only 20mins to my destination the following morning. I would definitely stay there again.

Overwhelmed of how rude the woman in the breakfast room was. Her name was Ana, the more and more she spoke to me the more she infuriated me. Constantly answering back and in my initial contact she accused me of lying because I said I have been waiting for some eggs for ages and she said, you can't have as I welcomed you in. I was welcomed in 25 minutes before and waited exactly 20 minutes for some scrambles eggs. I would have been fine with this wait but her answering me back was unprofessional, and really blunt and rude,. When I told her this she said I am not kind and all she cares about is the kindness of he staff. So within 2 ninutes of interacting with this woman she had acused me of lying and now being unkind, oh btw still no eggs, bacon or sausages. The heating didn’t work so it was freezing in the room, check in I waited nearly 20 mins for someone to come to the desk. I went to the bar to order a drink and the guy ignored me, order kept coming from the restaurant, and he prioritised them and left me waiting. The rooms were really run down.

The Doubletree is compact and bijou but also comfortable. The location right next to the M4 can’t be beaten for the traveller or visitor to Newbury. Clean room, standard buffet breakfast, friendly staff. Main down side when I visited was a cold room (it’s Winter). The duvet option was as thin as a sheet and the aircon didn’t heat so the solution was electric heaters in each room. This should probably be reviewed and the decor spruced up. However the hotel is convenient and also quiet, considering its location.

Hotel easy to find and very convenient for Newbury Showground. All staff very helpful and friendly. Communal corridors had a slightly musty smell, but the rooms were clean, functional and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of selection of hot and cold. Plenty of parking on site, but you are charged £8 per day All in all, I would stay again

Room had a damp problem. On arrival could see the carpet looked very worn and the room had a musty smell. (See photo) Was woken up early by a pitter patter of water which must have been from a shower leak in the room above. I did approach reception before going to bed to ask for a non slip bath Matt, they said that someone would come, they never did. Breakfast was no better. We came down at nine o clock. We were clearly the last people booked in for breakfast and all the buffet was empty and looking rather sorry and not appealing. We had to wait for individual items to be brought out so had to wait for individual breakfast items to be brought out and ate breakfast piecemeal.

Check in - didn’t even take AirPods out Cancelled last night of a 5 night stay - told would refund if sorted by 2nd night No refund unless cancelled the entire booking ( even tho I told them on the 1st morning ) Cracked sink - sealed with a nasty brown paste Long black hairs in bath ( no mine I’m bald) On a good note - breakfast staff , dining area and food selection and quality was superb Won’t be staying again

We felt the service in parts was very good however there were times when it was extremely poor. The most annoying incidence was when I asked at front desk if we had breakfast included. After some time, I was told no it was not included and had to pay an extra £18. We needed to get to work, time was precious. My colleague came down to check out and asked the same question and was told yes she does have it. I also did but was given the wrong info. All very annoying. Also, no plug in the bath which removed the option to take a bath. On arrival, the receptionist was quite unfriendly towards my colleague. Not a great experience. We also asked for wine with dinner but was given a different wine to what we asked for. Many dinner choices were not available including the mezze and halloumi tries. It was poor.

The bath was dirty and had body hair in it, they came to clean it and just brushed the hair down the plug hole leaving the bath still dirty. The staff were amazing through, so accommodating and helpful, bar and food prices extortionate though and the menu said you could have certain food then when you tried to order it they added almost five pound on saying the menu needed updating.

The AC wasn't working, so I was given a fan! The hotel manager was exceptionally rude to other staff members and some guests. We booked in the restaurant only to be told 3 times that we couldn't eat in there due to a large booking of 10 people!!
