Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and pleasant reception staff with a. Great central location to the centre. Couple of issues: lifts where very temperamental not stopping at the right floor, then one of them breaking down. Breakfast was not good at all. It was cold due to the heaters not heating or keeping warm food warm. However, reception acted upon this and refunded us the breakfast off our final bill. Hopefully if they do sort that out then we would certainly stay here again

Great hotel, staff were fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great in quiet area but in 5/10 walking distance of everything. We managed to get parking at the hotel however there are limited space first come first served. But over all a fabulous hotel.

Amazing room. The river view suite. With a separate lounge. Absolutely stunning views. Room Was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Location is perfect and very central, free car parking. Bed was so comfy. Visited above the rooftop bar which wa great.

Great location and within walking distance of the town centre. Great roof top bar. A little tired looking hotel so could do with a little spruce up. Depending on your room you will hear the trains from VERY early!

Comfortable and warm, 11th floor therefore quiet. Reception, concierge and dining room staff all very friendly and helpful. The lift is a big problem, just doesn’t seem to operate efficiently. Evening meal dinner service was extremely slow, apparently skeleton staff due to illness. Food, could not recommend. Nut roast e.g. was floating in gravy, root veg, and roast soggy so basically inedible. Sliced sirloin similar. Unfortunate. Stayed many times before and no doubt will have a return visit.

Our booking was with the Vermont hotel and that's also were we were lead, but turns out we were in the aparthotel, which was a walk away from the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped out with everything.

Unfortunately we found large black hairs in the bath. Also the table tops behind the bed were extremely dusty. These hadnt been cleaned in a long time. Overall very disappointing stay in the Vermont.

Concierge was excellent and overall service was very good. Super location and we parked for free which was a treat. The room was spacious and well furnished but it was roasting hot. Two windows but one wouldn't open and the other had a broken catch and wouldn't stay open. We ended up wedging it with our own items. We did report this to reception. Breakfast was good overall but bacon rock hard like leather on the buffet. Everything else was very good and we did enjoy our stay.

We were able to check in an hour earlier which was handy. Wasn't the cleanest, stain on duvet cover and the room was dusty. The hairdryer in the room was broken. Location is good, very walkable. Bed was comfy. Haven't received my security deposit back yet...

The location is fantastic, firstly. The apartment was a good size, and was pretty clean. The bed was comfy, however there was a small blood stain on the duvet. There was also no cold water from the taps, and the ice machine wasn’t working, so we had to buy bottled water to keep in the fridge. The air vents were rather noisy, I could still hear them while wearing ear plugs. The staff seemed friendly.

Hotel is in a great location with free parking available. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are nice but a bit on the small side, OK if only staying for a few nights. The biggest issue was the heat in our room. It wasn't a particularly warm evening but our room was like an oven which meant a very uncomfortable night. There was a fan in our room but all it seemed to do was blow the hot air around. We had the window open all night but didn't make a difference.

The apartment itself was really good. It was spacious and clean and had a fully fitted kitchen. The location was good for what we needed however it was a noisy area on a Saturday night. The only bad points were the WiFi did not work on our floor (we were on floor 2) and the TV was not a smart TV and didn't have a casting device either. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.

Fantastic location our room had a bridge view. The hotel is located at the top of a hill but once you’ve checked in there’s another entrance at the bottom of the hill that can be used it saved our legs. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is delicious I would definitely stay there again

We stayed here for one night and had a great time. The hotel was in a great location and we really appreciated the fact that the lift went down to the quayside as we had a pram with us so the steps would’ve been very difficult. The hotel was beautiful and we managed to park in the car park which was very convenient. The concierge was very helpful and staff were all very friendly. Our quayside view was also great! The only issue we had was that the room was very hot as the window only opened a couple of inches and there was no fan. Aside from that it was perfect.

I often stay at The Vermont and have always had a good experience. On this occassion, Daniel (don't think iv seen him before) at Reception was amazing. We had a very early start and were tired from our journey. Daniel swifty took care of our bags and bought us some coffee. Helped us with suggestions for Brunch places. Overall, Daniel was very kind, helpful and has amazing front of house presence.

Ridiculous check in/out procedure. Insisting on taking £50 on a bank card. I dont ever carry physical cards!! The beds were as hard as stone. The mattress is the most important part of a hotel. Having to queue for 15 mins just to check out is so outdated. Use a key deposit box like every other hotel

Took nearly 30 minutes to check in. Appreciate it was check in time for everyone at 3pm. However, service from the staff member who checked us in was fabulous. Great room. Generous sized. Comfy bed. Great bar service and ambience. Lovely breakfast. Speedy checkout.

The hotel seems to have lost staff members which they havent replaced as a result when you get to the hotel there was no one available to help with parking where as in the past this was dealt with by very helpful concierge staff. I was then queuing back to the main entrance for half an hour plus to check in albeit they had a large work party checking in but this could have been dealt with separately and organised away from the reception area if planned correctly and more reception staff on duty.

Love this place, it’s in the heart of Newcastle, has it’s own car park, is well priced but…the hotel has seen better days (our AC died on the first night) and it can be loud, particularly during the weekends.

Great friendly staff, located in the heart of Newcastle City centre. Rooms very mucky decorated. Food has some room for improvement. Breakfast was a buffet style full English with the addition of a continental. However the full English was put out and forgot about. Bacon like shoe leather, sausages shrivelled and dry. Two tone scrambled eggs. We looked ordered a light lunch from the bar to our room. Only we couldn't raise anyone from room service, bar or reception. So I had to walk down to order. When at the bar I found out the hotel had changed the menu and the choice I wanted wasn't available. Small point I know but they add up and lower my rating from a 5 to a 4

We love staying at the Vermont. A fantastic location, love the bar and the rooms and lovely. We would have rated it 5 stars but the breakfast is not great. It’s not because it’s buffet style, it’s more the quality is not great and it’s not kept well either. We still love it but would be 5 stars once the breakfast is better

Impressive hotel, super for direct access to city centre. This is our second stay and will stay again the future. Our double room was a little tired looking and the pillows lumpy. The mattress was good and supportive. Breakfast was disappointing. Cooked English was dried out and eggs watery. Mashed avocado was slimy. Chopped fresh fruit had lost any bite, was going mushy/ translucent. All the food seemed to have been prepared far too far in advance and had lost any freshness. The fruit could have been chopped a day or more in advance….a shame as this hotel has the potential to be really good.
