Arriving was difficult as tree and bushes block sign until its to late to turn. Car parking there is a lot but i wax never dure if it was 2 way or just one. Garden nice but the concrete hairs etc were filthy. So no wsy could you sit out id like to have but couldnt even see how to get tound there. Room was nice i wadnt keen on the tiny loo claustrophobic... i also would not have stayed. If id realised dogs were allowed into hotel and resteraunts. Dog by me seemed small but bitey. And i certainly didnt feel it appropriate in resteraunt.. there was no information in room. Re meal times , menu. I wanted a light snack on friday but there were no sandwiches orl ight bites. So i had a breakfast bar from. My car . I was disappointed in breakfast. Bacon had been kept hot so long it was dry and the sausage tasted cheap and nasty . On day 2 buffet breakfast dried beans.. bacon solid and all lukewarm. its fair to say i was dissapointed. May be worth a look at other places breakfasts. I regularly hotel stay around newcastle as a geordie i live away and visit... but sadly i was not as thrilled with my visit to novatel. It was not as good as visits for meals that ive had in the past.

Kettle in bedroom had intermittent electrical on / off fault and a VERY short plug lead. Menu for supper in evening VERY LIMITED with no pre warning. Vehicle bay parking spaces VERY tight for modern, mainly SUV style VEHICLES. Inadequate signing off highway to gain entry and access to hotel site. The advertising blurb mentioned a swimming pool but we were informed that this had been discontinued in a recent hotel revamp. And a gym. Disappointing, we were looking forward to a swim and / or work out on arrival. The outside sitting area, to the right of the front door, was littered. Obvious to staff as well as visitors. Untidy. Some breakfast ‘kept warm’ buffet items needed refreshing, eg fried eggs and black pudding. The coffee machine liquid portion was a bit big for the cup / beaker and overflowed. Generally a lack of attention to detail was apparent which was disappointing for a mid-range hotel looking to attract more clientele, particularly at the week-end. Most items above could be sorted and improved by shift managers / supervisors encouraging working staff to take some time and pay attention. Generally staff were friendly when asked for something. Bedrooms were quite smart.

The hotel was in a good location for Newcastle City centre and NCL airport. The breakfast was good, but the same food every stay. The TV remote was difficult to use and there’s only one lift working. I would stay here again.

We stayed here one weekend when we wanted a night away, this hotel was lovely and had great parking, it was in a good area with shops nearby, we got a taxi into town which was only £10 however on the way back it was more at rush hour on a sat night. In a quieter area if you don’t want to be right in the middle of town. Great spacious rooms room.

It was much better value than Premier Inn and only minutes from the A1 with plenty of parking. The only thing that let it down was that the cleanliness was a bit substandard. In particular the carpet was not properly cleaned.

Arrived very late from a delayed flight at Newcastle Airport (3.30am). This was no problem for check in and the person on the desk was so lovely and cheery considering the time. Gave us help with parking the car and then got straight up to the room. Big room, very clean and a super comfy bed and pillows. Slept very well in the room despite people coming and going. Didn’t hear too much. We opted for the breakfast for convenience when we booked. Breakfast was great. Lots of choice and GF options. Coffee machine and cooked breakfast all good. We would recommend and come back. Thanks so much!

Our room was lovely, modern, stylish and spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. Bed was so comfortable. Immaculate bathroom with rainfall shower AND bath including lovely toiletries which are refillable so no single use plastic. Great blackout curtains. Nice size tv too. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful and when I booked an extra night, very helpful guy on reception matched my booking so we could keep the same room. He had done it before I even asked which was much appreciated. Will definitely return.

A very comfortable room, large and bright, a separate WC and shower room, which is handy. Very good quality bedding, lots of lights (once you figured out the control!, air-condition/ heating was simply to use and very quick to control the room. The reception was comfortable with a well stocked bar and friendly staff.

In the unseasonal heat, the aircon of the room struggled to keep the room cool, but otherwise no complaints. Having inclusive breakfast proved exceptional value, as it was very well stocked.

It was my first stay at Novotel Newcastle and I enjoyed the experience. From a very polite and helpful check in to efficient friendly restaurant staff. Decent dinner choices at good prices great veg cooked just right and I really enjoyed the cottage pie. The room was clean and functional and had a comfortable bed I'll stay again and would recommend

Good experience prior to flight from Newcastle Airport. Postcode finding hotel could be more accurate. Food, drink, customer service all very good. All stay were friendly and professional from signing in to meeting night porter as leaving in early hours. Bravo!

The place is in need of refurbishment. It could be a fantastic place and grounds, but it’s run down and not well maintained. Staff were nice but things like food is only available from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and the lack of a room service menu make it feel like the hotel is being kept at minimum staffing to just keep the doors open. The cooked breakfast wasn’t great either, very greasy.
