Very nice welcome, very friendly and chatty lady. Sadly the first impressions were blown apart when we got to the room. Alarm bells start to ring when you’re presented with an actual key. I booked what was described as a superior one bed suite. I would not like to have seen a standard room as there was nothing superior here. The rooms are very dark and dingy, looked for bedding for the sofa bed and couldn’t find any. The housekeeping cart was in the corridor so I went to ask the lady, she came back to the room and pointed out a single blanket and a single pillow. If you want any more, you’ve to request from reception. I went down to reception immediately and asked if there were any better rooms available. I was told that as I hadn’t booked direct, ie. Hotels.com that it wasn’t possible to upgrade without them charging the rack rate. The “suites” are very basic, it would be very difficult to cater for more than two people if you wanted to cook, There are two small saucepans, one large saucepan and one very small frying pan. Only utensils are fish slice, a corkscrew and a can opener. one dishcloth, one dish towel. The bare minimum of crockery and cutlery. On the plus side, the noise levels were very good, the bed was comfortable and the hot water and pressure of the shower was excellent. Also good location for Parliament, Rideau Centre etc.

The hotel itself and the location was excellent. It is a great place to stay with family. My only issue was the parking which costs $40 per day, and hard to find parking sometimes.
