Good location, bad infrastructure. First room was a complete mess at check in no housekeeping, they gave us a new room. Parking lot is fenced off so we had to use the tiny little entrance by the lobby on Rideau street. Highly congested. Bad odours in hallways. Room keys were unreliable and opened our door 60% of the time and had to be swiped again at the lobby. No body wash in bathroom; shampoo, conditioner, and lotion? It’s a good location, but it needs more investment.

The hotel does not have parking for vehicles higher than about 2 m. I had a canoe on my car and could not enter the hotel parking area - I had to pay to park at a nearby private parking lot. It was noisy for about 30 minutes - loud talking in the parking area. Almost every light fixture in the room was either broken, the light bulb burnt out or was endless flickering such that it had to be turned off or eventually burned itself out (bathroom mirror light for example).

The property has not been kept up well. The carpets are disgusting. There are marks and drips down the walls. Our air conditioner just did not work. The TV did not work. The phone did not work. The security door outside our room did not work.

The hotel front door had a broken window. The keycard access to the lobby did not always work and this was acknowledged by the staff. The elevator was dirty and needed a good cleaning. The rooms were clean but dated. There is no restaurant / breakfast provided which is misleading from the website.

The room’s bathroom was going through renovation. There was a hole in the wall and wall paper came off underneath the sink. The AC unit was old and very noisy. The elevator was extremely dirty and stinging. I never recommend this hotel to anybody. Avoid it.

The surrounding area is not suitable for family vacation. The hotel is old and dirty. The door of the cabinet was broken before and no one came to fix it. One of bedsheets had blood stains. The hotel did not have paper cups when I asked.

The room was very dusty when I first checked in to the point where I had to clean it myself. I replied to the message I got asking if I needed anything saying that I need someone to come clean the room but no one ever came. The carpet is disgusting! I walked in it barefoot and it was damp, sticky feeling and just gross. I had to go purchase sandals from shoppers drug mart and made sure my feet never touched the ground. I honestly didn’t want to stay here for the full week, but I had no choice and the hassle of looking for a new hotel for the rest of the week was too much. I will never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone. Also in the advertisement on here it says breakfast included but that was a lie. There was no breakfast. They didn’t even have a kitchen in house to make breakfast.

I am usually not picky with the numerous hotel/motels stays and rarely make a complaint review but here i am. Room was filthy. Bed sheets had blood stains and other stains. Floor were not cleaned at all and it being a dark brown i am sure we missed a lot more stains. None of the counter tops were wiped with old piles of dust. Then we spoted a huge roach scurrying around the bathroom. The door key/door never worked and it took 3 times of reseting the cards to enter. Bith nightd we heard strangers kackling and screaming right outside our door. We had to make sure none of our belongings had any roached on them after seeing them on our floors. I would not be returning to this location and actually would like a refund at this point.

This property is in the deep inner city part of Ottawa. The hotel itself is run down well worn. Hallways are dirty and smell like smoke. Bed was clean. Furniture in the room was heavily syained. Bathroom had mold around the tub and in the grout.

The room was decent, and I was impressed that they had the tv station TCM, something in my experience many higher class hotels don't have. Also impressed that the bathroom has a bathtub, not just a stand-up shower. Not much view at the back of the building, but it was quiet. I did find that people on the street could get in fairly easily when a guest used a key card to get into the hotel through the sliding entrance door, and I did find a sleepy (fortunately not aggressive) fellow wandering the hallway hoping to find some comfort in getting into someone's room.

Although the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, the room was very basic, some dirty spots on sofa and wall. No recycle bin. All of the electric outlet were strangely loose so it was hard to plug in a phone charger as it didn't stay in the outlet. The surroundings of the hotel is not the greatest either. But at least, it wasn't that expensive.

Do not stay on the ground floor. The rooms open to the parking lot and are very noisy as well as dark since you can’t leave the curtains open for privacy reasons with people walking by. Our room on the first floor was very musty with a terrible fruit fly problem. The front desk staff was very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a room on a higher floor. Our third floor room was much better and solved all the issues we were concerned about.

The hotel was okay. I would not recommend this hotel to people I know. The hotel is very dated. Our room seem dimly lit. There was not a lot of water pressure and the shower curtain rod was not very secure.

During our stay, we lost power to the TV, fridge and outlets. After asking the front desk informed us that a neighbouring room had blown a breaker, and that power would be restored in the morning. We had to inform them that wasn't acceptable. Finally a new room was offered, on the 4th floor, which was very loud with mechanical noises heard from our room during the entire stay.

The good thing about the hotel is the location as its just walking distance from byward market and shopping area. The rooms are a bit spacious plus they have connecting rooms for a big family. The parking is additional at $10 per night. The bad thing is we booked a room for four but the towels provided are just for 2 and missing shampoo bottle wherein you have to asked the reception. And what's very inconvenient is that you have to go down the lobby (from 4th flr) to get your request as he said he is all by himself when we checked in (6pm). The place needs a total renovation. Find the place a bit dark, not sure if its the carpet or the lighting.

The Expedia should not cater this hotel with customers and the same with Wyndham. It's a total shame. Imagine you booked your hotel a month and half ago and when you arrive in the hotel the receptionist will tell you. Sorry we have no room available for you. You need to stay in the University of Ottawa Residence. The hotel is a total scam. I can stay in University of Ottawa for the half price of the charge with me. Never again will book this hotel and I doubted if I will book again with Expedia.

The bed was amazingly soft and comfortable. We liked that the air conditioner was already on in our room when we got in. The key cards were a bit finicky, but eventually worked. The toilet was a bit wobbly but nothing major. Staff were really nice and polite.

First day no coffee pods , phone not working l had to the front desk with my cellphone for 2 days , toilet not flushing had to wait until the next day for maintenance with waste in the toilet…disgustingly dirty carpets , spider webs on walls and ceiling. Never will I book a Days Inn again in any city. I’m an airline and travel frequently. I learnt my lesson..to never book a Days Inn again.

I recently stayed at Days Inn on 14-15 September and had an unpleasant experience during check-in. The staff member who attended to me was unhelpful and informed me that I couldn’t be checked in at the desk and needed to do so online, despite being physically present at the hotel. This lack of assistance was frustrating and unprofessional. I expect a smooth and welcoming check-in process, and this experience did not meet that standard. Needed a room, not many available. Location is on the fringe of sketchy neighborhood, lots of homeless people, but tons of shops and stores. Short walk to parliament, short walk to the Byword Market. The place is quite dated and a bit run down. I did have to ask for a shower curtain, perhaps the last guest needed to use it to dispose of someone. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were great. The room was affordable, so value was there.

Hotel was comfortable and clean BUT the area is scuzzy. It’s right on Rideau which is very close to the main homeless shelter in town. I witnessed 2 people have things stolen from their person in 1 day, 1 in the mall had cell phone taken, the other on Rideau had wallet stolen from backpack style purse. Do not stay on Rideau st if you want to feel safe.

The overall conditions of the hotel are just poor and rundown so the place feels sketchy. Also the area around the hotel doesn’t feel very safe. If you can afford an extra 50 bucks a night, stay somewhere else.

This property does have free parking… it’s also located in a very poor and dirty area with homeless people flooding the sidewalks. It had no breakfast, like it was supposed to, and we were sent to a restaurant that wasn’t even opened. Did not work out with our schedule.

Worst service! Had a problem getting the tv to start. Call downstairs and was told to figure it out myself. They finally moved me to another room after asking them to. Problem solving is clearly a problem for the workers at the desk. The door card needed to be reprogrammed more than once. The neighbour is sketchy. Never staying here again.

There were no coffee supplies in the room when we arrived. We had to ask for room service; for clean towels and coffee refills after the first night, and we were told (not very politely) that they could only give us two coffee pods per day (for two people) The carpeted hallways smelled terrible. The plugs were too loose to hold a charging block in, we had to prop them up with cups to charge our phones. No opening windows.

The website says they have free breakfast , but they have absolutely nothing. They don’t provide breakfast neither did they give us water bottles when we asked for it. The service was very poor as well . I will not recommend it .
