Doubletree by Hilton Oxford Belfry

All lovely but really terrible that there is no pool available much of the time. You do not except to have limited use due to swimming lessons, then you allow children in and close it for aqua classes too. Couldn’t get a recent swim! Either advertise at the time of booking that the pool has very limited access or provide refunds.

Overall very good. Good facilities but it’s a shame that the steam room was out of action and some of the facilities need maintenance/updating.

Stayed at the hotel four times over the last few weeks due to some business trips in the area. The staff have been excellent and very friendly and welcoming, the rooms have been absolutely what I needed; big clean; comfy bed; and have an area to relax and know to work so really happy with the whole experience. The pool and steam room were in good condition and nice little bonus since I had to travel down on a Sunday for work! Restaurant was also lovely and the breakfast was brilliant with plenty of options

Every member of staff we came into contact with were wonderful and very helpful. The room was extremely hot and uncomfortable but that was due to the weather conditions and we were supplied with fans but didn’t help too much but again no fault of the hotel. We had booked these two rooms as a birthday treat for family members and choose your hotel purely on having the spa facilities. We went to spend a few hours in there but had a quick swim and sauna and left as the facilities were dreadful. Cracks on entering the pool, missing tiles in the steam room, broken ice bowl and unusable shower due to filthy conditions.

The hotel was very well presented and clean, staff were all very friendly. Accommodation was comfortable and the facilities were modern and well designed. The beds were comfortable, however some of the pillows were not firm enough for our liking. It was also a shame that there was no mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cool. The pool, sauna and gym area were great, but it was disappointing that half the pool was closed off due to children's swimming lessons - not something I would expect in a spa hotel and an inconvenience to paying customers. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but feel these details could make it even better.

Accommodation was great. However spa areas were a bit tired and need updating.

Great hotel. Room was spacious and nice to have doors leading to the courtyard outside. The bar staff were so friendly and welcoming and made a fuss of our dog, bringing him water and treats. The pool was lovely, shame there isn’t a jacuzzi though. Loads of options at breakfast and all well cooked and tasty.

Easy check in , ample parking and good facilities particuarly the spa area. Only negative its a big hotel and if your room is some distance away can be a pain.

The rooms are lovely, warm and very comfortable. We always have a good night sleep staying here. The pool area was a bit disappointing as the steam room wasn't working at all.

I find the place was not clean as it should be. Noticed in the dining room the carpet wasn’t clean and in the corridor either.

I was very disopionted with the Green Algi growing in the Steam room This was pointed out to staff on the first night of stay attemt was very poor in removing and I reported it again to staff which I hope does not cause me or any others any health issues in the future

Delicious buffet breakfast - don't very often see fried bread these days. Our spacious room was immaculately clean but it is obvious that some of the fixtures and fittings are a few years old. Reception staff were very helpful. The hotel arranged our taxi to a very remote location with no issues.

Hotel was very clean and main areas were excellent. Room was clean and largely well maintained but the floorboards were creaky in some places, the shower wasn't always hot and the bathroom extractor fan was pretty loud. Receptionist when we checked in was fantastic, but when we checked out the receptionist (different person) was on the phone, which wasn't a problem, but the other staff member stood at the desk just stared at us and didn't speak. Bar staff, although efficient behind the bar, left tables to be cleared for some time and were not verycommunicative. Good hotel, can't fault the cleanliness, but customer service was lacking ever so slightly.

First impressions were great, the staff were helpful, and the room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed (although I would take my own pillow next time). The room had everything you could need; a dressing area, full length mirror, safe, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, even an ironing board and iron. But, then you start to notice little things like the limescale and heavy water marks on the chrome fittings in the bathroom and around the shower heads. The shower screen wasn't wide enough and the floor got very wet, also, the hand rail isn't in the best place as I kept knocking my elbows on it. Initially, it looks clean, but it could really do with a deep clean. There were also several stains on the bedroom carpet. In the bar area, some of the chairs had food stains on them which would probably have been quite easy to clean off. We had a light lunch in the bar on the Friday, and dinner for 5 in the evening. The food was great and we were all very happy with our choices. We all had breakfast on 2 mornings which had a huge selection, including fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fresh muffins and pastries, and a full cooked breakfast. Throughout our stay there were painter/decorators working in the corridor with wet paint signs dotted around but it didn't create too much of a problem. Apart from a few small niggles, the hotel was better than expected, all the staff were really helpful and friendly, and we would definitely stay there again.

Upon arrival, I found a significant amount of hair in both the shower and changing cubicles, and the steam room had a strong, unpleasant sewer-like odor. While swimming, I repeatedly came across hair in the pool, and the general poolside area was also unclean, with visible hair scattered across the floor. In the restaurant, there was a leak affecting the carpet, which caused a noticeable odor. Unfortunately, we were seated near this area during lunch. Later, during our dinner reservation, we were again placed in the same area with the lingering smell. Part of the lunch was overcooked, and the main dish contained spoiled lettuce hidden beneath the other ingredients. Additionally, the cocktails we ordered appeared to be missing key ingredients. Avoid!

Majority of staff were excellent, friendly and polite. Unfortunately check in was an hour late and there was a resident mouse in the bedroom :(

Room was very clean and well presented. Had a free upgrade when checking in and the minibar was a nice added touch. We only stayed for the night as attended a wedding at the hotel, managed to make use of the spa facilities during our stay, which at the time were quiet and relaxed.

Nice enough hotel just off the motorway a few miles outside Oxford. It's more of a 'venue hotel' than anything else (weddings, corporate events etc) although nothing wrong with that For the price there were a number of niggly things about the room - no airconditioning, extractor fan in shower did not work (which made whole room hot after someone had been in the shower!), no towel rail near sink, very low water pressure in the morning (shower dribbled out), no fridge. Overall, not 'show stoppers' but just below the standard you would expect for the cost. Room was clean and comfortable, though

We were checked in by Emma, who was excellent. Polite, friendly, and efficient. Everything was done quickly, and she explained everything well, even showing us the way to our room. The room itself was clean and comfortable, though it was very hot and there was no fan, so we had to sleep with the windows open. The only issue we experienced was with breakfast. We arrived at 9:15 (service ends at 9:30). By the time we had served ourselves tea and cereal, it was 9:30. I then asked for scrambled eggs, only to be told that the chef was no longer available as breakfast had finished. We were never advised to prioritise hot food first, and for the sake of just one minute, it was a little disappointing especially since we had arrived within the stated serving time.

Faded glory, would have seemed luxurious in the 90s. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, but no fridge (definitely a cupboard where it used to be), no cast facility on the TV, tv had a damaged area of the screen. Fantastic visit, stayed in the St Anne’s Suite this time. Staff were really helpful, room was great and slept well.

Nice location just south of Oxford with easy access to M40 highway. Room - large room with large bathroom. Very clean, able to open the windows (no AC), and had a fan we could use which made sleeping in the warm room much more comfortable. No fridge. Pool - well equiped locker room with private showers, changing rooms, lockers (£1 coin deposit), baithing suit spinner and hair dryers. The pool area, sauna and steam room could use a little scrubbing to bring it up to standards. Dining room - we did not have a reservation, but the staff accommodated us. They were short staffed, took 30 minutes for beverage order. Received our food which was good, thankfully! Prices are on the high side. Our server was very apologetic for the delays. Other - cool coffee machines in a couple of locations that will whip you up an espresso, latte or hot cocoa. Loved this.

Hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were not very helpful in both the spa facility and reception Manger of the bar was very helpful though. This was the hotels saving grace

Reception staff were outstanding, friendly and efficient.

I was was welcomed by Lucja who was absolutely amazing, warm and friendly.

Very dissapointed overall, shower gel empty, spoke to reception late afternoon, not refilled until the next afternoon after again reporting it in the morning. Next day bed was not made found it as we left it, had to ask for towels as only one left for 2 people. Next day bin not emptied and twa cups not cleaned, again not enough towels, had to collect at reception so house keeping was poor. The bar £15 for a double gin??? A bottle is £30, £12 for a large glass of wine and this is with Hilton Honours, really not impressed at all. Breakfast was good and thats the best bit. Overall not impressed at all. Staff were ok but got fed up with apologies, just provide the service Hilton used to be known for

Staff at check-in was not very friendly or service-oriented. Power went out on Monday morning for 1-2 hours (including no water) causing delays. No concession was made by the hotel, e.g. a discount or free meal etc. Surprising that a big hotel like this has no proper back-up solution.

It was a few days away for my wife and me and Antja, the trainee receptionist, was really helpful . She upgraded our room without any hassles . That’s excellent service. The waiters at breakfast were nice and there was one very kind member of your staff (didn’t get her name) who was really pleasant. We quite enjoyed our time there.

We booked a table in the restaurant for the first evening of our stay but were unfortunately disappointed by the poor service. Although the restaurant did not appear to busy we were ignored for long periods even though staff were scurrying about. We were told by one member of staff that this was due to a large number of hotel guests requiring bar service.

Waited 15 mins at reception before anyone turned up, despite calling on phone with our mobile. No one answered! Room was ready early but we were told extra £30 to pay for early check in! Ordered coffee, waiter forgot milk. Wine glass had lipstick on it. Only 1 camomile and 2 decaf tea bags in room. Fortunately I have brought my own! Waiting to see how breakfast is.

Nice room in a quite part of Oxford. A 5 minute drive from the nearest town which offers lovely pubs and places to eat.

Excellent overnight stop en route to the south right beside the 40 motorway.

Clean and comfortable. Excellent stay near Oxford but away from the bussle of town. Abundant safe parking well suited to larger vehicles.

Lovely place as a base for going into Oxford and Bicester Village.

Great Hotel, conveniently located, good parking. Beware of the potholes in the road leading to Hotel from M40! They are shocking!!!

Very nice property. At times it was hard to find staff at the front desk. Keep in mind this location is away from the larger town area of Thame - so if you don’t have a car you will be relying on taxis. The food in the lounge was good and the separate restaurant seemed busy. Be sure to pack swimming clothes to take advantage of the spa amenities!

These faults were minor though and would have given 5 stars if not for this. Really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Dinner menu choices not so good for a vegetarian who doesn’t eat mushrooms. Staff were all helpful. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Also conveniently located only a short drive away from the park and ride to Oxford, much easier and cheaper than parking in the city.

The hotel was located in a good place the stay was wonderful everything was located with 5-10 miles driving range . I to small villages surrounding. Will definitely stay there again

The hotel itself was nice, staff are really helpful however we were disappointed that there was no in-room dining despite the website advertising this as well as the information channel on the TV in our room. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance so if you don’t have a car you will have to eat at the hotel restaurant. That said we found a lovely farm shop which opens on a Saturday which was a 15 min walk.

I rarely do bad reviews but this restaurant is one of the worst that I have ever visited for value Not the chef or staff, I hasten to add but the value of the food £26 for a piece of steak, a few French fries and a piece of shredded lettuce They were cooked ok, but £26 really ? You can go to almost any restaurant/pub in the country and get the same meal with the usual accompaniments like mushrooms, onion rings, tomato, nice proper chips & some veg for a far better price So, management, I suggest that if you aren’t going to serve a proper steak lunch, don’t charge for one

Property is a bit of a maze, a few more internal directions needed. Pool area a bit cramped. Meal ‘deal’ option was not adequately explained which led to confusion at checkout. Evening meal tables could have had table cloths so as to take away the ‘canteen’ feel. Staff were however overall excellent.

Staff were nice, breakfast was amazing as was the bedroom. The rest of the building was a bit tired however. Plenty of parking which was good. The main meal we had mixed reviews on our table, the fish wand chips was over cooked but the burger was delicious. Limited drinks menu, we wanted cocktails, most of the ingredients were unavailable. The breakfast however was the highlight, after spending a week in different hotels, it was refreshing to see so much choice.
