Hotel Chateau Bellevue

We stayed at the Château Bellevue for two nights after a cruise and absolutely loved our stay. The added value of having a back door entrance to street level was important to a member of my party with accessibility issues with steps. Many hotels in the area do not have this feature!

Conveniently located, the spa service was spectacular!!!! Pascal is highly recommended.

Where to start? My husband and I love this property! It is our first choice for a place to stay every time that we come to Quebec City. It is so conveniently located... on the beautiful St. Lawrence River between the Chateau Frontenac and the US Consulate, positioned halfway between the top of the Haute Ville and the bottom of the Basse Ville. This makes it a very walkable location for seeing the Old City, which is great, because parking is almost non-existent. The ambiance of the hotel reminds us of our favorite small hotels of Paris. Nothing glitzy, but lovely and functional, and exceptional value for the price. The self-serve Continental breakfast is good value, and since it isn't included in the price of the room, you can choose every morning between the convenience of a quick bite at the hotel or a splurge on a fancy breakfast somewhere else in town. The 24-hour coffee bar is also very nice to have available. The lobby area with fireplace is stocked with books and games... and a reasonably-priced wine bar! The fully bilingual staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can book a massage on the premises (I didn't have time, so can't comment), and despite the historic building, a helpful elevator has been retrofitted (there are four levels in the building). There is limited car parking; if you need to park a car, you need to request it well in advance. Parking is only available via valet service, and they're usually very quick. There is an extra charge.

Just blocks away from the port, The Citadel, popular dining street Rue Saint Louis, the funicular to Rue du Petit Champlain, and the Museum of Civilization. 24-hour complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby, and wine dispensary at reasonable cost.

Great location to old town. Dog friendly and right next a large park. Valet parking with easy access to the parked car. Breakfast was adequate, great coffee options. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and bathroom supplied with soap and shampoo. Wine bar in lounge was a convenient option.

The pictures online do not do it justice. You feel the warmth the minute you walk in the door. The staff were all kind and welcoming and explained everything with ease, switching to English when it was clear our French is not great. The room was spotless and we had everything we needed. Our room had glass cups and wine glasses and a corkscrew, which was a nice touch we don’t usually see in standard rooms. They also offer reasonably priced valet parking onsite with in and out service, though we didn’t need our car while we were there. You are literally a 5-10 min walk from everything. They also offer a continental style breakfast that’s priced well you can add each day, but have coffee, water, and juice available all the time complimentary. We were very pleased with our stay and will be back.

Outstanding location and friendly staff. The room was small but confortable. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby(not in the room), but the machine broke down a couple of times. The onsite valet parking was full, as was the closest parking structure. We had to park a few blocks away but didn’t mind the extra walking through this wonderful quaint old city.

Hotel is situated in close proximity to the Citadel, fine restaurants, historic sites and the in view of the St Lawrence River. Easy walking distance to many points of interest in the Old Quebec City and Montcalm areas. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is very friendly. I would note if you have limited mobility, the front steps can be a challenge easily solved by entering through the back door where the cars are parked. I would give 10 stars if possible.

Room was spectacular, very quiet, breakfast was great.i only wish that the pool and the fitness centre were on the premise and not 10 minutes walk away. I will certainly come back at this hotel.

my rating would have been higher if it weren't for the cleanliness. Our room was clearly not done properly or cleaned before we checked in. Towels were dirty and stained, the floors still had feet marks from the last guest who stayed there, the cups they gave us in our room were clearly dirty and used by the other guest, we got new cups but it's just an inconvenience. When we asked the cleaning lady for new towels she said no and that she didn't have more. Lastly the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything that's going on from the guest across the hall from you. Other than that the staff was great. They have a valet service which was really convenient.

Room was spacious, very clean. Staff were welcoming and ready to assist. the location is perfect, right near the Chateau Frontenac and the boardwalk near the river. we walked everywhere, for dinner, etc.

There was a fair amount of hair on the bed when we checked in. Also, it\'s not a great look that the front desk agent was belittling "English people" as we were going to check out. A lot of "English people" keep your hotel in business, and provide you with a job. Not a great hotel.

The location is excellent!! Loved the coffee machine in the hotel that you can use all day! Cleanliness is so so, there was hair in the shower and a bottle of soap from previous guest, pretty disgusting :( the day they cleaned the room they didn’t even swiped under the desk, same stuff on the floor from the day after…. Hope they improve that!!!! Overall good option for what you pay! Parking not included and only with valet, if you have a motorcycle you have to go park in the public parking which is not convenient at all.

The rooms were small but clean and thoughtfully designed. This historic hotel is in Old Quebec but just out of the hustle and noise due to a park out front. The staff is helpful with recommendations and transportation options.

We absolutely loved staying here. The room was very comfortable and clean and the location was perfect. Close to the Chateau but far away enough to be very quiet. Breakfast was just right to get us started on our day. We stayed 3 nights.

My only complaint is the queen room was very small and didn’t have a fridge in the room. Our friends booked the king room and the room was double the size and had a fridge in the room

Lovely hotel and area. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, valet parking made life easy! Good breakfast and nice lobby/seating area with drinks and games to borrow. Room was petite but had all essentials, bathroom a little tired but the only real issue was the thin walls; could hear what our neighbours were saying - used the air con to drown out the noise.

The property was in the center of everything, the staff was amazing However the hotel is outdated, AC is too loud and the rooms and bathroom is too small

Great location and the building is a real treasure being a chateau but we found it to be quite noisy. Water pipes and thin walls. Felt some things need to be upgraded. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel and staff are amazing! Our room had a very low slanted roof on one side which was a bit annoying at times as we are tall but beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were well stocked. Fantastic location!!!

The only complaint we had was that the wifi was so inconsistent that we couldn’t even watch the news on tv.

Very clean. Location was near all of the old walled city in Quebec. Lots of stairs to get inside with your suitcases. Rooms very small and some electrical outlets needed replacing so we’re not useable.

Great location that we added an extra night to stay. Friendly helpful staff, from the concierge to the cleaners. Would definitely come back since we feel that we haven’t quite explored all of Quebec City during our stay.

When we arrived after a long flight they informed us they had a room confirmed for us but did not have a room. We booked through Expedia and had a confirmation as well paid for in advance. They offered to move us to their other hotel via taxi that they would pay for, but it was a kilometre further away and we specifically chose this location because we wanted to be close to everything we wanted to see and have the flexibility of coming back to the room because it was cold out. We were tired and it took some time trying to figure everything out, and we felt that they were forcing us to move to the other hotel. After we insisted, they said it was fine for us to stay. This did not make us feel welcome, but the hotel over all was fine and the location was good. It was a little bit of a bump to the start of our vacation, which was disappointing.

This charming hotel is very convenient for exploring old Quebec by foot. Very close to historic hotel Frontenac and beautiful views of the river as well many dining and shopping options. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and very helpful with all my questions. The breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh and local food options, the room was very clean and accomodating and the valet parking was super helpful if you're bringing a car. I would highly recommend it if you like a quiet and quaint hotel with all the modern amenities- even a wine vending machine in the lobby with real wine glasses!

Very convenient location. All staff were helpful and the hotel was great, had a nice charm. Parking was easy because it was valet. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay to another night!

I hung do not disturb sign on the door, but hotel staff still went in my suite without letting me know. I complained it shouldn't happened and staff said to me what do you want me to do? I told staff if you must enter the room, you should call me I was worried when I found out someone entered my room while I was out even I have do not disturb sign on the door.

Very nice staff, room was clean, charming hotel in a perfect location in Old Quebec. Helpful with walking directions,etc. About a 15 minute walk to the cruise terminal. (Use the funicular!! The stairs will kill you)

We loved our stay at the Hotel Chateau Bellevue. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, a suggestion with respect to the breakfast. There are limited options in the area for hot breakfast especially when you don't have a vehicle, are walking most places and the weather is not co-operative. Perhaps they can offer hot meal options (ie: such as you would if you were going out for breakfast in a restaurant). The charge was $15.00 however the cold breakfast options were minimal (ie: cold cereal, toast, cold hard boiled eggs, fruit). We would gladly pay more for breakfast if there were hot meal breakfast options.

Hotel Chateau Bellevue is perfectly located for a trip to Quebec City. The hotel is located next to the Le Château Frontenac and Dufferin Terrace, so the location is great. The staff were lovely, very helpful, and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was nice. All around a great place to stay with clean rooms.

Great stay in the perfect location to explore Old Québec! Quiet, clean, good guest service. I loved all the free coffee, tea and juice whenever you wanted it. The only downside was breakfast. I had it the first day and opted to go out after that. I would definitely return.

The location was great and the staff very helpful. The room was a bit smaller than I expected and I would have preferred to be able to make coffee in the room, but that was minor. The breakfast was good and the lobby very comfortable.

Wonderful location! It is located across from the park overlooking the river. It is a short walk to restaurants, the Citadel, Hotel Frontenac, the Tourist Center, the tour buses, and the Funicular. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The breakfast offered is satisfying with multiple options: fresh fruit, breads, croissants, cheese, cereals, coffee, juices. As I am gluten free I was pleased to find even gluten free bread. Many wonderful restaurants, even with gluten free options, are within walking distance. We loved our stay at Hotel Chateau Bellevue.

Love the location! Free 24 hr coffee, Juice, a bonus! Maybe provid shuttle to sister hotel? Wish breakfast was included, as parking is extra already. Staff friendly and helpful.

Cold water and coffee always available was a nice surprise. Room very clean with a wonderful tub/ shower. The breakfast for $15 seemed pricey for your options as our Montreal hotel served similar breakfast included Lovely helpful staff at the desk especially on our last day… I wish I remembered his name.

This quaint gem of a property is perfectly situated for visiting Quebec City. The staff, especially Emilie and Julien, were exceptional. Breakfast option was a very nice plus. Complimentary coffee and juice in the lobby is wonderful. And the automated wine dispenser with glasses if wine for $6.35 CA is cest magnifique! We highly recommend it.

Although I was on a business trip, I selected this hotel based on its proximity to the famed Chateau Frontenac, the primary tourist sight in Quebec City, as well as the main street for shopping and dining. In fact, the Hotel Chateau Bellevue is within a city block of the Chateau Frontenac and at the base of the citadel, which is just a short climb up the street from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was a traditional French assortment of baked goods, crepes wtih maple syrup, cheeses, and fruits. The hotel desk staff also serve as the parking valet. The room was small and bed was only a double, but it was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Very friendly staff, great location we were able to walk to most the carnival locations. Chateau Frontenac just around the corner Breakfast at a cost of $15 was good, they had crêpes, cereal, croissants, etc. Free coffee and tea, 24 hours. Our room faced the boardwalk and the river. Would definitely stay there again.
