Insgesamt ein sehr schönes kleines Boutique Hotel. Tolle Lage nah am Bahnhof und der wunderschönen Innenstadt, sehr gute Restaurants und Bars in der Nähe, trotz der Straße am Hotel, ruhige Zimmer. Kleines aber zweckmäßiges Fitnesszimmer. Kleines Manko ist das Frühstück. Es wird per kleiner Tasche in der Art eines Lunchpakets an die Zimmertür gehängt, für den Kaffee geht man an die Rezeption, wenn man die Kapselmaschine nicht nutzen möchte. Somit ist die Auswahl der Speisen in fremder Hand und muss nicht unbedingt dem eigenen Geschmack entsprechen. O&G waren nicht dabei. Etwas verwunderlich, da ein Restaurant dem Hotel angeschlossen und per Tür verbunden ist. Des Weiteren wurden wir jeden Tag beim Verlassen des Hotels gefragt, ob wir nicht abreisen würden, was etwas seltsam wirkte. Wir würden wieder buchen.

We planned a very last minute stay in Quebec City. We were pleasantly surprised how perfectly situated it was for us to walk to all locations that old Quebec City has to offer. Parking was an extra fee, but conveniently located right across the street.

Great hotel - however, we were unaware the location was at the bottom of the city and a long walk up to the central part of Old Quebec. The Hotel also states that it has a restaurant but does not. There is a restaurant next to the Hotel.

Mathew at the front desk was excellent in advising restaurants to dine at. The breakfast was superb delivered to your room allowing guests to chose when to eat. Parking across the road was convenient. The old town can be accessed by walking.

Great little hotel just outside the walls of Old Quebec. The room was comfortable and clean with good amenities like fluffy robes and rocking armchairs. The breakfast delivered to your door was a useful perk. There was always a croissant and another pastry, jams, orange juice, sometimes a yogurt cup. There’s a Nespresso machine in the room and a water bottle station in the lobby. Downstairs is a Michelin-starred restaurant Legende, with lots of other cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel is downhill from the center of town where the German Christmas markets are, but you can go around using Rue St. Paul, Rue du Sault-au-Matelot, and Rue Notre Dame to get to Rue de Petit Champlain where there’s a furnicular you can board if you don’t want to climb uphill. Overall, good service and convenient location with a public parking lot across the street where you can leave your car for the day and have the fee be included in your hotel bill. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to QC.

It was good overall. We didn’t like having breakfast delivered at 7am to our room. We thought it would be a sit down breakfast. The advertisement and photos say it has a bar and restaurant…not true they are next door at a completely different name and facility!

Well appointed hotel with very nice breakfast delivered to the room. Parking not close but just a short walk. Ice machine was broken, and all day construction on exterior walls. I’d stay here again and hope the construction was over. Good value for the comfort and breakfast

The hotel was in a good location, but I would not stay here again for the following reasons: a roach was in our breakfast bag with the croissants in the morning, we had to ask for the bed to be changed because hair was on the sheets, luggage has to be hauled up stairs in the lobby before you can get to an elevator, and parking is in a separate lot across the street.

The tiny and musty lobby was disappointing. Our first room was both musty and moist. I have allergies and was stressed about staying in our room. Front desk attendant brought the large dehumidifier from the lobby up to our room. So much moisture that by morning it shut off because tray was full. They moved us to another room which was better. Room was clean and staff great. Breakfasts were nice and convenient.

Our first room wasn’t as expected (dark, seemed older, smelled of mildew), but Justin was very receptive to our concerns and moved us to a brighter, more updated room with wood flooring and brick walls. The free continental breakfasts were a bonus. The staff was so friendly and kind. The location was on the edge of Old Quebec which made it convenient to get to. The bar next door was also a convenience for just relaxing.

Our group stayed here during our time working at the QC Auto Show. The hotel was lovely and staff and service was great. The only criticism we have is that the rooms are not well insulated for sound so it was not the most quiet hotel we've stayed in. But overall it was a very good experience and we'd recommend it unless you need a very quiet environment to sleep.

We selected the hotel for the proximity to the train station, it was perfect. However, the location offered so much more. A variety of restaurants were a short walk away and the staff readily shared recommondations. A wander around after eating was a great way to begin our exploration of the city. We couldn't adjust the room temperature and found the room a bit too warm for sleeping. The desk clerk said there were preset limits but he would adjust from the desk.

What a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. It was incredibly clean and the service was spectacular. My wife and I loved our stay here. My only small issue was the room was warmer than we would have liked at night. The room was well equipped and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast delivered every morning was our favorite part.

The staff was incredible. I needed to visit the ER. and Hardielle called for a taxi and took care of everything. On our return to hotel she greeted us we a hug and inquired how I was doing and if there was anything she could do.

Wonderful stay … clean room, comfortable bed, fresh breakfast, everything worked, good assortment of drinks and snack foods. Staff very competent and helpful … carried our bags, knowledgeable about area, stored our luggage. Hotel foyer had comfortable seats, a cosy fireplace and had fresh fruit, drinks set out. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend!!

We stayed at this hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. On the first night, we couldn’t sleep until 4 a.m. due to extremely noisy neighbors in the room above us. Before the second night, we asked the staff to resolve the issue. Their solution was to move us to a smaller, simpler room with a smaller bed and half the size of our original room, located on the side facing a noisy street. Although we agreed to the change, it was only because another sleepless night wasn’t an option for us. The staff mentioned that the price difference between the two rooms was minimal, and since we had already paid in full, they offered to waive the $17 parking fee for the three nights as compensation. However, when we repeatedly asked for a room of the same or better quality—even stating we were willing to pay extra—they didn’t offer any alternatives. At checkout, the staff attempted to charge us for parking despite our prior agreement. After pointing out the arrangement, they then asked us to pay for two out of the three nights instead. We had to explain our dissatisfaction and reiterate the earlier agreement before they finally waived the parking fee altogether. However, we still ended up bearing the cost and inconvenience of staying in a far less comfortable room. Regarding the comfort of the rooms, both had old, uncomfortable mattresses that left even two young guests waking up with joint pain.

Justin was amazing when we checked in late yesterday for a quick getaway. Not only did he help us in english, as my french is not fluent. But he was able to get us on a tour on and off bus, since we were limited on time to view the area. We decided to stay a second night here to view more of the area.

The staff, especially Pauline, went far beyond service expectations. An already lovely hotel experience was about to be ruined by my discovery that I had left our passports in Montreal and we were to be flying out of Quebec City to the United States 2 days later- including the next day which was Canada day, a national holiday! Pauline heard me struggling to communicate effectively with our Montreal hotelier, asked if she could help, arranged use of Expedibus and I had the passports in hand early the second day- 7 hours before our flight! That and the location 3 min walk from the train station made taking the train in a great choice, location across from the port and easy walking to Lower Town, Old Quebec City (Upper town) St Jean Baptiste, and Montcalm. Great city for walking and enjoying the people, food, and sights.

Hotel des Couterllier is located nearby high traffic tourist areas, but comfortably away from the high traffic. It is easy to walk to restaurants, art galleries, and shopping, but the hotel itself is quiet. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We quite enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location, we walked 5 minutes from the train station, 10 minutes to town. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Beautifully appointed rooms with all the thoughtful extras including minibar and even breakfast served to your door! As well as crescents/pastries, and apples at the door for a quick bite when on the run for sight seeing in this beautiful old city! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

We stayed here for three nights and it was fantastic. The service is impeccable, rooms are beautiful and we loved the thought and care put into our breakfast packs. The costings were very reasonable for laundry and some mini bar items. It is in a great location with only a short walk to the funicular. Highly recommend.

Das "Frühstück" im Zimmer ist nett gemeint, hat aber den Namen kaum verdient. Kaffee und Tee ist tassenweise an der Rezeption zu holen, Müsli, Rührei Marmeladennachschlag sind Fehlanzeige. Ein solches Frühstück erinnert an Corona-Zeiten, ist heute aber komplett aus der Zeit gefallen. Leider führt das Frühstück zu einer deutlichen Abwertung des ansonsten guten Gesamteindruckes des Hotels.

A well-appointed boutique hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Good location on the edge of the old town. Convenient parking lot across the street, with in-out privileges. Lots of dining options within easy walking distance — both in the upper and (closer) lower town. Nice gym. We had an issue with a noisy air conditioning vent that kept us up all night, but the front desk staff efficiently moved us to another room the next day. There is a bar next door to the hotel that was noisy if one’s room is on that side. Be prepared also for construction underway on the other side of the hotel. Rooms could have better lighting. Breakfast in a bag hung outside one’s room (consisting of a couple of croissants/muffins/scones and yogurt or apple sauce) was not up to the standards we have seen in similar boutique hotels around the world.

The property is in a lovely area in Old Quebec, walkable to great restaurants and shops and the harbour. A near by parking lot was a bonus. Our room was small and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Our only disappointment was the breakfast- the pastries weren’t fresh and we would have liked a few healthier choices.

I was quite surprised that, when the description said 'breakfast included' it would consist of an insulated bag hung on the room's doorknob. It contained 2 cold croissants, 2 cold scones, 2 yogurt, 2 orange juice, 4 cold pats of butter and 2 small pots of jam. This is something from the days of COVID! In addition, when you enter the property, there is a small vestibule and then about 6 very steep steps to the reception desk, requiring one to haul their bags up and down. Very difficult especially for an older person.
