All staff was amazing! The only thing I would say is there isn't parking which was a challenge, but I would highly recommend this beautiful little place. The restaurant was the best food we had for the entire three days that we were there.

Easy to walk around Old Quebec City from this location. There are a number of stairs and no elevator. The staff helped bring up the baggage. But would not be convenient or desirable for those with mobility issues.

The location across from Holy Trinity and the staff were both great. The digital key did not work the entire weekend so I had to call a service desk in order to get into room. Once is annoying, the whole weekend?!

Great stay! LOTS of stairs (4 levels) however it was not a surprise as it was stating that they did not have an elevator! So I do not recommend for people having a hard time with that. But nice place around lots of fun stuff.

This hotel is in a great location, we had a view of the Chateau Frontenac and a park. The parking situation was a little confusing-there is an underground ramp approximately 1 1/2 blocks away off of Rue Pierre Oliver Chaveau. There was no one at the front desk or answering the phone to verify we could park there-it was $20 per day. The cleaning staff was great and we enjoyed some fine dining in the row of restaurants in front of the hotel. I would definitely recommend-if they had more detailed info about parking on the website, that would be helpful for first time Quebec City tourists, otherwise, perfect stay!

Good hotel, although rooms are a bit small. I’m not tall (5ft. 5ins) but I still hit my head on the deeply recessed eaves. Getting in with a digital key was a pain — had to find the right email with the correct URL. But, location of hotel is superb, worth the hassle of no reception and no elevator. Also, the digital reception people were very responsive, so in the end it was ok. Restaurant below hotel was very limited in its breakfast menu (but lots of other options steps away) and their staff seemed consistently overwhelmed. I rated the whole experience at 4 stars — good, but not great.

The check-in was all digital so I didn't deal with staff or service, but the place was wonderful, just steps from restaurants (in fact, you enter kind of through one), the Chateau Frontenac, the Funicular and steps up to the Plains of Abraham. It was beautiful, quiet, roomy and comfortable. A real treat! I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Location of hotel was perfect, the room needed some work. Carpet was wet in spots and stained. Mattress was a little saggy in middle. Bathroom lighting was orange. The door did not lock and there were lots of excuses. 24 hour to fix it. Could use a few more hangars

Amazing staff- especially Charles Corsiez. Charles went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The room was very clean and we had a nice view of the courtyard. Restaurant at the hotel had amazing food and the waitstaff were excellent.

Great location. There are no receptionist at the hotel. Room was dirty. Smelly bathroom. The AC didn’t work, so they installed a temporary AC that took one of the windows and room we could use.

My wife and I had a pretty good stay here for a weekend away in QC; There were definitely a few things that can be improved upon, but first the things we liked: - Perfectly located in central old Quebec City; Old Quebec City is very busy during the day with tourists but gets VERY quiet after 10PM which is ideal for rest and sleep; - Our room (#7) was very clean with a rustic / quirky decor we really liked; - Self Check-In was easy and while we did not need any assistance, we had a sense the staff were ready to assist us anytime if we had any questions or concerns; A few things could definitely have improved our stay as well: - The bed and bedding were not particularly comfortable on our room - even for me, who prefers a firmer mattress, I was walking up stiff and uncomfortable; This would be the number one thing that would have brought our stay closer to 5 stars; - The room has a beautiful bath tub, but we couldn't figure out how to operate it - not a big deal, but it's definitely a cool feature that seems under-utilized - While the room was immaculate where it mattered, it is carpeted with a carpet that was stained / ready for replacement - we though it odd that the room was so well curated save for this one item; Overall, would stay again - provided they update the beds/bedding

LOVE the bed area of my room (#21) and the exposed brick wall, but the room itself was disappointing. I looked specifically for an older styled room. Bathroom modern and ugly (imo), missing shelf, shower door wouldn’t stay, poorly lit. Suite door didn’t have security lock, and the cleanliness of the carpet in the room looked badly stained and the carpeted stairs looked in bad need of a deep cleaning. Having said this the bed was very comfy.

The tv unit wasn’t work properly. We had to as for. Kettle which we had 2h later. We couldn’t watch the tv at all even after we told them this need sorting they never did. The room was ok.

The room was spacious, had everything we needed, was clean, but heavier/thicker curtains would help as the light from the Christmas Market illuminated the room all night long, so room felt like it was afternoon all night, but would stay again for sure

I’ve been to Quebec City seven times and have always stayed at Auberge Place d’Armes. I absolutely love it! Everyone is so warm and welcoming. From Virginie at the front desk who is so helpful, to the waiters in the restaurant who provide friendly service, to Chahira who does a beautiful job cleaning the historic hotel, the staff once again made my stay memorable! Communication was excellent before we checked in. After we checked in not so much. We had a few requests that we were told would be no problem but these requests never happened . I don't mind not seeing hotel employees when staying at a hotel but not when requests are not met.

Absolutely fantastic! We were braced for a more touristy experience but what we got was a beautiful room in a historic building right in the heart of the historic center that added a sense of genuineness to our visit. Interactions with staff via text messaging was easy, efficient and pleasant. Overall, a very low stress, high satisfaction experience.

It’s a beautiful quaint building in the middle of everything. It’s walkable to upper and lower Old Quebec . However there was no one at the front desk ( which looks like part of the restaurant in the same building). We had to make a phone call which the woman from the restaurant gave us. Then we had to wait for someone to talk over from wherever they were.

Some of the other reviews made me a bit nervous about this property but I have to say I was so happy with my choice! If you want a typical hotel then I’d suggest the Hilton down the road but if you truly want to experience the Old Quebec City then this would be a perfect choice! They have done an excellent job at taking a 400 year old building and making it so warm, cozy and inviting! We stayed in the loft and no there’s not an elevator but it wasn’t a problem!! The location is perfect! Right in the center of town, we waked to everything. We loved our time there and didn’t want to leave! We are already planning our next trip!

Location was convenient to yummy restaurants, transportation, shopping, etc. The restaurant at the hotel was great too with people lining up for a table. We loved the front desk staff, especially Virginie - who always had a smile for us, and a quick response to our questions and advice. The stairway was steep but a second less steep stairway was available when needed. We hope to stay at this hotel the next time we are in Quebec City.

The location was great, close to the boardwalk, Le Fontenac tourist information office, with lots of restaurants nearby. The cafe in front of the hotel, La Buchette, had a wonderful happy hour and breakfast. The room was charming but it needs a refresh. The furniture and bathroom were looking tired and worn.
