This was one of the worst hotels we stayed at in iceland. We were first placed in room mid hotel on the 5th floor. There was hardly any space in the room but it was clean. It was unbearably hot in the room & the window opened to a corridor in the hallway. We asked the staff to turn down the heat as there was no self controls in the room. They were able to move us to another room that had an actual window to outside & internal self controls. This is not reflective of the hotel itself but some warning would have been nice, there was about 100 youth staying at the hotel at the same time. They were VERY loud & slamming doors in the hotel until around midnight. They do have parking out back but this was the crazy snowstorm night & we were almost unable to park in the back. I asked for a snow shovel & was told they do not have any we can use, seemed odd. The breakfast was healthy & some options. The orange juice was very watered down. I would not stay at this hotel again & would not recommend. They do have a staffed bar downstairs & staff on site.

The hotel was nice, clean, and had friendly staff. Had a drink at the bar, that was lovely. The room itself was very small. For my family of 4, it was a pretty tight fit. Although I think most hotel rooms in Iceland are a bit on the smaller side. No dressers. Small counter in room. Small shelf in bathroom to put things, but had to live out of our suitcases which we had to open and close each time. A bit inconvenient, but doable. Sights in Iceland are beautiful and worth the trip!!

Great hotel and staff. Rooms are clean and basic. I booked a superior room and felt it was worth the extra money. Most tours pickup at this hotel, and there is a covered bus stop across the street to get you downtown. Breakfast is from 7-10 each morning, and is above average for the price. A smaller version of breakfast starts at 5am with limited items. Mini market is across the street, but a Kronan supermarket is one block, and has everything at a reasonable price. The nicest largest public geothermal pool is 6 blocks away. Breakfast includes; boiled eggs, porrage, cereal, breads, pastries, ham, salami, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, jams, peanut butter, oranges, yogurt, tea, juices, and coffee. Hotel had an evening bar, ample common area seating, and simple dinner buffet from 6-8. Front desk rep Lenny is awesome, and every other staff member so nice, too. Recommend

It was good transition from REY to Golden circle roadtrip. Otherwise just basic stuff. There’s no coffee in room or even hot water kettle. Limited parking spots esp if you arrive late.

Nothing particularly special. Typical smaller European hotel. But definitely above a hostel. Reykjavik is relatively small so everything is close. Restaurants. Walking areas. Tourist areas. Swam laps at nice 50m pool within walking distance. Parking filled both nights but I think it accommodated all cars. Many travelers on bus tours.

Though they mixed up with our reservation blaming expedia they corrected it next day. Staff was very pleasant. Good breakfast good location. However in comparison to room and car parking Ratio they are handicapped. We got lucky as we had handicap placard. We enjoyed the stay

Hotel was clean. They served breakfast and dinner. Location is good. My friend and I walked into town and it was about 30minutes walk. My only issue however was that there was an unpleasant smell in our room. I had booked a window room but it turned out the window room was in the middle of the corridor not a window you could view the outside from .

I’ve been to many places around the world and this was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in. INCLUDING smaller than an interior cruise ship cabin. It was really hard to maneuver with all the winter clothes and suitcases. Facility was clean, but the condition was poor. Scuffs everywhere, worn carpet. I would call this a private hostel at best. It did the job, but I would not do that again. Too claustrophobic with two people

Les chambres ne sont pas isolées ni pour le bruit extérieur ni les voisins ou même les gens qui parlent dans le couloir Les murs sont tellement fin qu on entends les voisins ronfler et bien plus. Il y avait des cheveux dans le lit. Chambres extrêmement petites moins de 9m carré salle de bain comprise! Petit déj: pas grand choix ! Très bruyant ! Je déconseille cet hôtel à qui que ce soit !

the room is a bit stuffy and got really hot at night. There’s no thermostat to change the temperature. The window opens but the room is facing a big street so it’s a bit noisy. It is convenient to get food from Kronan or the gas station if you didn’t get breakfast option. Breakfast items are ok, it was really busy and staff often cannot replenish cutlery/food fast enough.

The room was clean. Breakfast was added as upgrades. However the WiFi signal in the room we had was very weak. We were not able to use the hotel WiFi in our room. I told the front desk and they couldn’t fix it.

Rooms were incredibly small and there was absolutely no air flow. “Window” was covered with an image that allowed light in all night so difficult to get to sleep. It was however clean and the staff was professional. Breakfast was basic.

Basic hotel with very basic amenities, including very few in the room. About a 20-25 minute walk to central Reykjavik, but obviously a pretty one as you're walking along the Reykjavik waterfront for all of it. Certainly nowhere near the price paid. Could hear every word, snore, and movement of neighbours on all sides.

It was just for 1 night but rooms were so small. Bathroom manageable, location is ok. The staff that checked us in was nowhere friendly. Only shampoo available so be prepared. Bed super small and not comfortable. No air conditioning

I had booked two rooms for us and a friend traveling together. However they checked us in two different categories of room. Front office Maria was helpful but couldn’t do any thing. Her response was to contact expedia. Very embarrassing for me as my friend ended up in a very small room and i was helpless. However next day they mobed him to a better room. Saving my face👏👍

Staff wasn’t great. Completely MIA when answering questions ahead of the stay. Mostly disinterested at the time of the stay (the exception being the man who was working the front desk after midnight on November 14–he was excellent). Room was small even by Reykjavik standards but was mostly fine. Lack of a miniature refrigerator was a problem—first time I’ve stayed in a place in Iceland that didn’t have one. Breakfast was the same every day and a bit dull. Bar—I don’t know, it closed too early for me to try it. On the whole it was just sort of OK. I’m in Reykjavík two or three times a year and this is the only place I’ve stayed at that I wouldn’t stay at again.

The staff at Hotel Cabin are amazingly responsive. Maria Jose, Jón and Carolina responded very efficiently and with great courtesy and politeness to numerous emails that I sent when my plans changed. Great staff!

Slow check in. Bad staff. I asked to check in around 1:45pm because I was very tired. Overnight flight to Reykjavik. No sleep for 36 hours. Refused to check me in until after 3:00pm. Very small room. No coffee, no tea, no mini fridge, no hot water kettle. Nothing in the room.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, despite some issues with my booking, which were not my fault. I received a room upgrade and an invitation for a welcome drink. Everyone was super friendly, the price was very reasonable for Iceland, breakfast was also fine for the price. On my next visit to Iceland, I will definitely choose this hotel again, and for me, the parking at the hotel is a huge plus.

Great hotel for the price. We were looking for a hotel that wasn’t too expensive so chose hotel cabin. The rooms were small but cosy and comfortable. The location was great, around a 25 minute walk from the centre however bus stop 12 is nearby and all the local tours can pick up at this hotel which was really good. Perfect for what we needed. There is also a small food court across the road with cheap dinner choices and a supermarket only 5 minutes away.

Nice location but it is about 1.8 miles from downtown. There is a great walk path to downtown along the waterfront. There are plenty of electric scooters for rent. The staff is great and will help you any time

Nice hotel and good location. Our room was small but good. Clean, comfortable and a very good breakfast. If you like to walk it was close enough to the main part of town and an interesting walk. Very close to the water. Grocery store, bus stop and restaurants very nearby. It’s also very near Laugardalslaug geothermal pool complex which is a very fun place.

It's very close to the waterfront and lots of bus options right out front. The standard room is quite small and the shower stall is also small but it was clean and quiet. Would stay here again.

Found this property to convenient to downtown area and sea wall for a leisurely walk . Included breakfast was adequate, bar located in property is nice , large leisure area. Staff were very helpful , booked tickets etc through desk . Would recommend this hotel .

Hotel room was clean, and the walk to Laugavegur (the center/main shopping street) is about 10 - 15 minutes. Breakfast is limited, just bread, plain yoghurt, and juice, no warm foods. It would have been nice to have fruit, granola, scrambled eggs/pancakes or such. Nothing fancy, but it was clean, and our stay was good.

Easy walk into town, good location to walking path along the bay. Nice views, convenient to local shops and groceries. The dinner buffet was really good, we ate every night, nice options. This was a good value to price point option of hotel.
