The Spa Hotel

Great stop and better than expected. Everything worked, easy check in and Parking. 10 mins walk from the town. Shame there isn't a hot tub/jacuzzi in the spa but other than that, all good.

Nice hotel. The gym was well equipped.

Staff not very friendly or accommodating. Room comfortable and clean but I could hear very noise the people in the room next door made. I used the spa in the evening and the steam room was far from clean. Very limited facilities for a hotel called Spa Hotel, not even a jacuzzi- only a sauna, steam room and small pool.

A good hotel. Only items to note would have been dedicated towels in the Spa for guests and consider installation of a swimwear spin dry machine in changing rooms.

I thought the hotel was quite grand and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I very much enjoyed their thermal spa, pool and gym facilities.

Great room with garden view. Think we got a room upgrade. I liked the SPA, sauna good and pool really nice, bit small but nice with good ambiance and views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, maybe could be slightly more variety in terms of the cold options. Lounge area was nice. Gardens very pretty. Overall nice relaxing stay

Hotel in great location. Lovely characterful building. Great grounds. Well decorated reception areas and some rooms. One of our rooms was quite newly decorated, one not. Both comfortable and clean. Spa area needs renovation, some old and tatty areas. Some bits not that clean. Great treatments though. Service in the hotel restaurant was slow, especially at breakfast. Breakfast expensive if you are paying on the day and it’s not in your room rate.

comfortable, relaxing hotel. Robes and slippers in the room, which is great if you want to wander down to the spa, and/or chill out. The breakfast was lovely, a good selection and good quality. All staff from the reception,spa and breakfast were professional, friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept with nice seating areas to relax and enjoy the views. The spa is small, however they are up grading this and im sure it will be amazing once completed.

Great hotel with great Gym/Spa facilities. Grounds were lovely to walk around in the sun. Bar & restaurant great. Staff very friendly & helpful.

Lovely place with super gym and pool. Very clean throughout and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and bar waiting times a bit long but we were in no rush. Great value for money.

Bathroom area was lacking the attention to detail regarding cleanliness that you would expect of a hotel of this calibre. The long dark hair o the bathroom floor was the trigger, then whilst sitting on the wc, the crustiness of grime around the base of the shower was a shock and whilst the chrome sink trap was nice the black grime or mould around it has obviously built up over time. I was quite surprised that this grime appears to have been allowed to become so established, it must have taken some time to do so, and alas there are still slight isolated spots that remind you that the floor grouting was once white!

Very disappointed with the state of the hotel and the attitude from the reception staff. £225 for a single night for this hotel is a rip off. We have been given an attic room which needs to be accessed via various staircases. When requested for a change of room, the reception staff had a blunt No with an excuse “Hotel if fully Booked”. I did not feel this was the case as the footfall was quiet on a busy hour such as dinner time/breakfast. Inside the room we felt claustrophobic and Bathroom was dirt too. The facilities were inadequate and not sure how it is a 4 start hotel. Their swimming pool, gym, steam room are open for public and smelt rotten. I have never felt so ripped off by a hotel ever. Will never visit them again.

The room was a little frayed around the edges with scum on the glass door of the shower and paint chipping on the bath pannel. The fan in the bathroom sounded like it also wanted to take off. After having a shower i was horrified to find a long brown stain on my towel. As per house keeping rules i put the towel in the bath to request it be changed. After voulenteering at Sissinghurst house and gardens for the day i retuned to the room and the towel had not been replaced.... i had to go down to the front desk after a hard days gardening to request one. Both nights also as the bedroom was situated above the kitchen i awoke at 3am as the aircon couldnt keep up with what i believe must be the begining of breakfast service prep. I spoke to the member of staff on the desk when checking out about the issues i had and she was very dismisive and said i should have come to the desk during my stay and asked for a fan... I did speak to someone and found this response a cop out.

Second time staying at the hotel. The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel, always in pefect condition and the spa is amazing, room was very quiet and all the amenities were provided as in coffee machine and tea making facilities. Room service was quick and easy as well as excellent value for money, already planning our next visit.

We had a lovey stay at the Spa hotel, the room was clean, spacious and had lovely views. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed use of the pool and sauna. We appreciated the hotel upgrading our room, the bed was comfortable and huge. The Town was a nice 15/20 minute walk. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we were in the area.

The noise from a generator outside the room meant I didn’t get any sleep

Room was spacious but needs refurbishing.. Curtains didnt fit properly and bathroom looking a bit tired.

great stay, my room needs a new bath upgrade, but other rooms have been upgraded to a shower no bath as I was with a colleague. Other than that excellent all round.

Room next to lift very noisy throighout the night

Staff were friendly and polite. Lots of parking. My room was clean, tidy and very big. Bottles of water were in the room. However, the experience was ruined by the heat of the room and the hotel in general. Despite turning off all radiators and opening all windows, the temperature of the room remained far too hot and was extremely uncomfortable. The heated towel rail in the bathroom couldn't be turned down or off which made it stifling, again, even with the window open. Due to this, I hardly slept and it also meant I had to plan to shower, get dressed and leave in the morning as I could not get dressed and relax in my room as I was sweating. Bearing in mind it is January! Such a disappointment. I am very unlikely to not stay there again due to this.

Lovely large room on the 2nd floor with a little balcony and huge bed. Extremely comfortable with good facilities and it was nice to have access to the spa. Breakfast was also very nice, with a very good selection and good quality. The hotel is only about a 15 minute walk from tow, so it's in an ideal location with free parking which is always a bonus. Overall a lovely venue for a short break.

Hi - it was one of the warmest days this year and the room, having had the afternoon sun was warm. The aircon switch was high up and I had to climb on the furniture to switch it on. Then, the batteries in the remote were almost flat. The batteries in the tv remote were also almost flat. Both were not easy to get working.

It’s a genuinely lovely hotel and to be negative about it would be giving it a disservice. However, the room need some upgrading. The TVs are old and the the decor a little tired. I genuinely believe with a good level of investment in the rooms, this would make it a top class hotel for Tunbridge Wells.

Staff were terrible

Everything about this hotel was a joy - and I was immensely satisfied overall. The only aspect that was hugely disappointing was the extremely poor customer service. At check-in, I was greeted by a young lady whose manner was cold and aloof and who gave me no information about general hotel services (e.g. breakfast times and dining room location, spa opening and closing times, etc.) as you would expect. I have had better quality service from receptionists at low-cost motorway hotels. In the evening, I took my daughter for a stroll in the beautiful grounds of the property, but was scolded by an extremely grumpy employee for encroaching on an area that was private and out of bounds. However, there was no sign at all indicating that the space was for a private event. The staff do not seem very happy at this hotel - and are not well trained in their roles.

One particular bar person was clearly not meant for hospitality, grumpy and not helpful at all. Pretty much ran out of any drink I wanted and the rooms were dated and too hot. Only saving grace was Kia (sp) in the morning at breakfast who was brilliant.

Lovely staff, we were upgraded to a lovely room, we used the spa and bar facilities which were excellent. I would say that the quality of the breakfast doesn’t reflect the price

The Spa Hotel is spacious and has very nice restrained decor. Our room, booked for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration was very large and very comfortable. It was warm and WiFi worked ok though the signal was a little weak in our part of the hotel. We were able to log into our netflix account using the large TV and it worked very well. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options available. The staff throughout were very pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the Spa but the range of treatments and the facility looked very good.

Had a lovely stay despite some unfortunate circumstances that bought us to Tunbridge Wells. The food in the restaurant was good, but we only ate there a couple of times as there are so many great places to eat in the Pantiles & High Street. The room was nicely appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We will miss walking down to the town through the common, but less so the uphill walk back!

Handy for town. Lovely hotel. Great value for money. Shopped around but this was the best deal.

The gardens and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The dining room was bright with surrounding windows. Very friendly staff. The location was perfect with a short walk to the Pantiles with quaint cafes and shops. We had a smaller room that looked over a smoke stack so would definitely upgrade next time.

Stayed for one night as it’s very centrally located for shopping.

We had a lovely overnight spa break at this hotel. Treatments were fab and the pool is large enough for a swim with a few chairs to lounge on around the pool. The hotel is on the edge Ipt central Tunbridge Wells and a lovely 15 mins across the common to the Pantiles, so a great location foo. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

My stay was excellent, the staff were very professional and accommodating. My meal in the restaurant wad amazing, compliments to the chef. The front of house manager Nicholas Crittenden was fantastic he was very knowledge about the menu and selection of food I ordered he is a credit to your establishment.

Check-in was smooth very relaxing atmosphere, room was comfortable. Dinner experience was okay, could of had some background music. Main course was pricey. Breakfast was good.

Staff were nice and very welcoming. Afternoon Tea was lovely and they had a nice gluten free option. Only minus - was the Venison pie on the evening menu. It was over priced for what it was @£25 and I waited over an hour for it to arrive. Other than that, the breakfast and the spa facilities were good and I had a relaxed, comfortable stay. Would recommend the hotel.

Reception staff are OK and show a willingness to help. Checking out, I was asked by reception staff how my stay went. I said that I really liked my room and I liked the hotel itself. It looked nice and the facilities were fine. With that said, anything that involved food at the hotel was an absolute disaster. My first encounter with the kitchen involved me ordering sausages and mash. I waited a good 35 minutes in a restaurant that had about 7 out of about 60 table’s occupied. The head waiter who took my original order came over and asked me to remind him what I ordered, I reminded him. He then indicated that my order had been lost! He then went off to look for my order. I asked for the head waiter to be sent over to my table which was the person who took my original order. He came over with my food and apologised. I asked him why it took so long for my food to arrive; he apologised again and offered me a complementary drink which I accepted. I appreciated his approach and thanked him for it. The sausage and mash was awful, it tasted extremely salty and so I left a lot of it. At breakfast, I opted for a full English with sunny side up eggs. After about 25 minutes which is an excessive time to wait, my breakfast was brought to me. The eggs were not fully cooked and needed turning. The waitress who was really good saw the issue and we agreed that the eggs would be replaced so she took the eggs. Same eggs came back, they were not sunny side up! The food tasted bad. I left it.

Was staying here to attend a function hotel was lovely. My room was comfortable clean and I couldn’t fault it. Unfortunately food took a lot to be desired. It was a large function and the overall consensus was they couldn’t cope Has everybody agreed? The food was shocking. All three courses were below par. The chicken wasn’t cooked and luckily after the starter had been so appalling I cut the chicken open before eating to discover it was still pink. I’m sure for a smaller function it would be fine but certainly wouldn’t attend for anything of a large scale. Disappointing as wasn’t a cheap place to stay and I had really been looking forward to it.

I there was a party and the music was so loud found it difficult to sleep. I told the receptionist when settling the bill. I had smoked haddock for breakfast there was a smell the fish did not taste fresh and I have had a bad stomach this afternoon.

Food is excellent! I have been dreaming about that pork chop! B

The property is fantastic. Set in beautiful surroundings. Facilities and staff magnificent. The only downside was they charge for a cappuccino at breakfast. You can have a regular coffee but have to pay for a ‘speciality’ coffee. This lets it down really.
