Given that I booked this hotel on the strength of it having three electric car charging points I was extremely disappointed to arrive and only one be working. I understand it's a lottery but when I reported this fact I was told that they can be reset with the red button on the side - no instructions on the actual charger. I tried resetting the defective two chargers and still they didn't work. The hotel didn't seem too bothered. The chargers are sighted away from the main car park in a very muddy area next to the golf driving range so got wet and muddy too. The hotel is very basic, needs updating and was far better when owned by Marriot. The only real positive are the leisure facilities - although I was told I couldn't use them unless I booked. When I got in to the pool it was empty. Sadly I won't be booking this hotel again.

The hotel and grounds are wonderful, set meal and breakfast although basic where very good value and excellent quality. Staff were great,only disappointment was the bar was low on stock each drink asked for they didn't have,minor problems.

Very good communication with reception when we phoned to let them know of our likely late arrival due to a motorway closure. Check in absolutely fine. Very happy to find the free Tesla Destination chargers, so a full battery in the morning. Nice bar (usual slightly high hotel prices) and a pretty good breakfast buffet.

The pool was booked out by private parties most of the time, no room cleaning if you used the pool there was a £5 charge per head there room was hot and ventilation was poor not all rooms had a fridge i requested one and was told fridges were not available.... i had meds that needed to be kept cold , the prices in the bar are a bit on the steep side

Room was clean and had good supplies of toiletries and coffee tea. However would have been helpful to advise before booking in advertising that gym/pool access cost £5 each. Plus things were out of action. Also we were awoken at before 5 to a funny whistling ringing noise - sounded like heating system. Small things like for a double bed spare pillows as one each. Everything else was described and clean and ideal one night stay

disappointing that they charge for use of the pool. £5 per person per time for a 1 hour session. Breakfast was luke warm as hot plates aren't hot enough to keep the food warm. Restaurant food is Wetherspoons quality. Even as a guest you cannot run a tab in the restaurant so had to pay for drinks to have whilst studying the menu and then pay again when we ordered the food.

My kids live with their mother, which is 2 hours away, my daughter had a dance so we booked this hotel specifically to spend the day with my children because it's advertised as having a pool. It does have a pool, but you have to pay £5 per hour to use it per person AND there's lots of closed off times that you can't use the pool. None of this information is shared on Hotels.com. I would NOT have booked this room had I known that upfront

Not sure where to start. We had very rude staff, the whole place needs some investment as its very outdated. No fridge in the room and we experienced a domestic situation in the corridor at 1am which the hotel did not handle, it went on for over an hour. Appeared to be a pillow shortage and carpets need a good clean or replacing.

A very tired & filthy dirty hotel. We could not believe how dirty our room was. It took half an hour to check when we arrived at night as systems down & was told at 11.45pm that my room wasnt available yet. Someone then tried to enter our room at 1am, as our room had been double booked - when i was in bed, so felt unsafe. The carpet in our room was covered in shingle & stones, with an empty crisp packet on the floor & clothes label & sides covered in dust. Had to queue for half an hour for a table at breakfast the next day & then another 10 minutes for the hot food trays to be filled & then to find they had no ketchup for a cooked breakfast. A shambles of a hotel. They had a long line of people complaining at both breakfast & at reception & to the cleaners along our corridor, about how dirty their room was as well. Several people form our wedding party had no hot water for 2 nights as well. on trying to complain to the hotel, they dont care & offered me a free breakfast next time i stayed. I wouldnt stay here again if you paid me! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The hotel staff were generally lovely. Particularly the older gentleman in the bar area. The gardens around the hotel had not been mown for sometime and the courtyard that our room overlooked had received no maintenance for some time. The rooms were generally clean but our bin was not emptied for the 3 nights we stayed. In the corridoor to our room, someone had put used bowls with left over food out the first night we stayed and these were not collected by the time we left. The stairwell had not been cleaned or vacuumed for some time with used glasses present and spilt sticky liquid staining the nosings of most of the steps. The volume of guests staying seemed to be a surprise to the catering staff, at breakfast time left many waiting for food to come out, and others waiting for a table. There were many options on the bar menu out of surply by the Sunday evening. Finally given this is was not a cheap hotel to stay at, I was really disappointed to have to pay an extra £5 per person per visit to use the pool facilities. I have never stayed at a hotel where guests had to pay extra for this. Surly it should be included as part of your room booking!?

Unfortunately the room we were given had not been cleaned since previous occupants. They then changed our room, but carpets grubby and bathroom not cleaned throughly. Our room was not serviced during our 3 day stay so we had to go and ask for more toilet roll. The flush also broke on our last night. We were told that we had to check out at 8am on departure day, due to a power outage, but were not aware of this until we arrived at the hotel. This really impacted the last day and we would not have chosen this hotel if we had been aware. There is also a charge of £5pp every time you wish to use the pool/gym/spa facilities. Not too bad for adults, but the price is the same for children despite the fact that they are unable to use most of the facilities.

However, there was a skylight, which was worse - it had no curtain, so the room was very bright, very early in the morning and right in uour face. It gave me a migraine one morning, so I ended up having to use an eye mask.

I booked a room without a window but when i arrived in my room there was a large sky light window in the middle of the ceiling with no way to block out morning sunlight. I asked to change rooms and was charged an extra £10. The room wasnt as described so they should not be charging to change rooms. They had put someone else in it immediately after me too so they didnt lose money on the room.

The room was an internal room with no window as described, so no complaints with that or the general cleanliness etc. Main problem was the uncomfortable bed and the poor TV. The bed had a thin topper but felt like you were laying on a concrete floor. The TV showed loads of freeview channels but the remote controller was exceptionally slow didn't allow you to select anything other than 2-3 channels.

Although the rooms were more than adequate, and staff seemed friendly, the stay was disrupted due to selfish guests slamming doors, running around, singing all thru the night to 5am. There's having a good time and then there's being inconsiderate to other guests. Would have hoped the staff would control this but not so. I get its xmas party season, but not everyone staying there is partying and some have work to do. This does need to be policed a little better. Also charging to use the leisure facilities while staying at the hotel £5 pp/pn is a tad cheeky. The restaurant also was sadly let down by how long and how much they charged. Ordered one starter of Duck spring rolls for £8 and was given 4 tiny duck spring rolls very overpriced for deep fried frozen food. And ordered a side of chips, took 20 mins for the food to arrive with only 1 other table occupied a bit of a joke for 2 things! Also noticed how unsound proofed the walls are, you can here every sound from the room next to you and would think vice versa, and above or below. Had the price been substantially more i would think a lower rating would be well justified.

First impressions are lasting impressions. My stay at this hotel tarnished by the crass customer service of Front of House Manager Christos who was on reception. I arrived at 2pm and was robustly informed check in was 4pm. I'd requested 2pm and had just driven 200 miles to be there. No sympathy or apology whatever, he just repeated several times in a 'jobsworth' style "Check in at 4pm" Offered a room at that time if I paid another £30 which made it even more galling as obviously rooms where available. No attempt to contact housekeeping to see if a room available for a weary traveller. 'Not bovered' Besides his gruff manner his English was very hard to understand, needs speaking training as well as learning to smile and be welcoming to guests. In a word 'Disgusting'

Arrived on Sunday night to be told the restaurant was closed all week and it was a hot buffet, looked at menu and paid the £29.95. It was appalling, the staff seemed embarrassed one of them even referring to it as slops! No one available to refund, or on Monday before and after work. Breakfast buffet supremely mediocre and when asking for poached eggs I was told they didn’t do them. You have to pay a nominal fee even as a resident to use the pool facilities and, I had regrettably booked for 2 nights, housekeeping don’t come mid stay which I have never experienced before. The pressure on the shower was good though paint was flaking off the bath. All in all a total refurb is needed here, and a total review of catering. There is no indication on the website that the restaurant might be closed, it came across that this happens when there are too many guests. To add insult to injury when I had my deliveroo arrive on Monday night and went to borrow some cutlery I was told I couldn’t unless I paid £5 and presented with a wooden alternative!!!!

The hotel has become progressively worse since I’ve been using it the last two years. It has now got to a point where I will not be using it again. Restaurant closed and no one informed us, there was a buffet offered which was well overpriced and poor, to make it worse all the kitchen units and hot plates in the buffet room were thick with dust and debris on the top, which is why I never eat breakfast offered in that room, then and I asked how long the restaurant would be closed for, and the manager who usually operates the bar restaurant just walked off and said ‘I don’t know, don’t ask me’. The hotel is a long distance to anything else and it was very late in the evening, no one informed us of this. I was here on business too, so talking to a colleague, we had food delivered, then told we can’t eat in any open areas, either room or outside, so it ruined two nights of working dinners with my team. A new young team in the spa, that you have to pay for are more interested in their phones than taking your money and just sit behind a desk. The previous personnel only a couple of months ago were fantastic. The rooms are generally clean and stocked properly, keep temperature but now all the floor boards are starting to creek heavily and you can hear people all around and above. The management have let this place become a shadow of its previous self.

The accomodations was nice, the reception staff and porterage were VERY good. It's a nice location and parking is easy, although the lane to the hotel is quite busy with golf traffic at times. The bar and restaurant was fair at best, little choice for a hotel bar and many offerings that were listed on menu's for Gins and food menus not actually available. If you're in a rush don't order food, if you're not desperate expect 40-50 minutes wait between tapping your card at the bar and picking up your eating irons...

Having stayed here a number of times under the former Marriott ownership and always had a wonderful experience, we we’re excited to return after a number of years. That excitement was misplaced. The new owners - Britannia Hotels, have succeeded in making what was once great into a miserable place. Unfriendly reception staff at check in. Rooms that are dated and tired. Spa facilities that were tired and below par (no changing rooms - you are expected to change in your room and walk through the hotel in your trunks). Appalling service in the “restaurant” with the only staff member on duty telling guests that the chef was “snowed under” (the place was half full) and that the kitchen was closing for a period of time. When it did reopen, we ordered from the limited and overpriced menu, the food eventually arrived and was cold. The grounds and setting are lovely and is seriously let down by the hotel. Don’t be fooled by the 4 star rating or the “Exclusive” venue label. This is as far from a 4 star experience as you can get. Premier inn, Travelodge et al represents significantly better value in my opinion.

Receptionist on booking in was fantastic, she had a huge queue due to lack of staff but dealt with the situation really well. No food to order the bar staff advised just a buffet and take a look before you commit was their advise! We did and it was rubbish hardly anything there so we left. The fantastic receptionist recommended the square in wickham and we had a great meal there.

Attending the Goodwood Revival in a classic car, I chose Leon Valley Hotel for it\'s location (35min from Goodwood), Price, restaurant onsite and parking. From satellite view, the is a HUGE carpark. Perfect right? WRONG. Turns out the hotel has a deal with a cruise ship provider and cruise passengers can leave their car at the hotel while on a cruise. Consequently, there was no parking. There were hundreds of cars parked, as far as the eye could see. After being seated in the restaurant for dinner, provided with dinner menus and instructions on how to order, we proceeded to the bar to order food and drinks. The maitre d asked if we would mind waiting 30min before ordering in order for kitchen staff to take orders from "pre-paid" customers. Turns out these customers were part of the cruise ship passengers (all inclusive deal). We were happy to wait, but after 30min when we tried to order dinner, we were told that the restaurant would not be taking any food orders due to the kitchen being too busy with "pre-paid" customer\'s orders. There are no nearby food alternatives due to the location of the restaurant. We didn\'t want to drive our classic car to find another restaurant in case we lost our precious parking spot. I made it quite clear that the situation was unacceptable and after some discussion, the Maitre d agreed to take our food order. The restaurant is open for dinner from 5pm to 9pm. At 8:40pm the following evening, the kitchen was closed.

Lovely room, good facilities. Poor food options which was not made apparent when booking. Only option was a buffet consisting mostly of Chinese food at £25 pretty head. We had to drive elsewhere for dinner. This was disappointing as the location means you can't walk anywhere.

Business trip, then stayed for a couple of days to visit the area. Was a nice location, the only down side was the very busy car park, which was at capacity the whole time. Nice amenities, staff friendly. Adequate food and drink provision. Some decor seemed a bit dated. Would stay again.

Very helpful young man at reception who gave us a room near the lift in view of my husband's arthritic knee. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was the worst we have ever had. Cost £33 for 2. The only good thing was a fresh fruit salad, though only sweetened flavoured yogurt to accompany it. The buffet was tepid, plates were cold. Fried eggs had clearly been sitting in the dish for some time. There was a greyish substance which might have been scrambled egg, but which another breakfaster said had a fishy taste. The only member of staff present was entirely occupied polishing cutlery and only spoke to take our money.

we went to this property for a quite night away seeing that we could stay there and have room service . This was not the case even though stated clearly on the listing. There were minimal staff and the service was abysmal. We were then told the restaurant was only providing a £35 per head buffet and no normal menu was avaialble - all in all a terrible experience, avoid at all cost!

So excited to stay in this 4 star hotel for my holiday with my family. Room was good for a family of 4. That's where the pleasant experience ended. First day at breakfast which ended at 9am (Friday) we enter at 0830. Had to ask for the majority of the breakfast to be replenished. The waitress was surprised when I asked for bread for toast. It took 20 mins for all the breakfast to be replenished. Asked for brown sauce but Apparantly they had run out and the delivery hadn't come. We then went to look at the pool. Again reviews said it was free but was told each person had to pay £5 each time . Also if you left you had to pay another £5. So my son aged 6 had to pay the same as me. I discussed this with the receptionist who said the manager was ill and my observations not complaint's would be written down. The manager would be back Monday which I replied we will have left so my observations would fall on deaf ears. He agreed though that this was poor service and not the standard the hotel aspires to. In our 3 day stay we didn't see housekeeping once and on our 3rd day had to ask for fresh towels. When we checked out, the same receptionist said we were all payed up. He didn't ask about our stay or if I wanted to fill out the form. A real disappointment to our stay and I'm struggling to give the hotel a 3 star rating.

Poor option for dinner, not notified in advance. Coffee machine needed attention during breakfast , it was then switched off!!!!!! Extra charges for facilities not identified on hotel info when booking. Not value for money

disappointing that they charge for use of the pool. £5 per person per time for a 1 hour session. Breakfast was luke warm as hot plates aren't hot enough to keep the food warm. Restaurant food is Wetherspoons quality. Even as a guest you cannot run a tab in the restaurant so had to pay for drinks to have whilst studying the menu and then pay again when we ordered the food.
