Don’t stay here if you want a 5 star HOTEL experience. It’s labelled as a hotel on hotels.com but it’s actually serviced apartments and not clean or attentive like a 5 star should be. Pool and jacuzzi were a massive let down. Jacuzzi didn’t work and it was just green slimey water. The following day a sign was put up saying it was out of order. Pool would have a nice view if the windows were clean but they aren’t - all murky and dirty. Check-in after a long flight is not personal or welcoming. As we walked in the door I immediately regretted booking it. Breakfast again is very transactional. No hello, we were just asked for our room number and then told immediately the “free breakfast” only includes 1 drink, between tea, coffee or juice. If this is meant to be 5 star and breakfast is “free” then these should be included. The actual breakfast is very tasty. The views from the room are stunning but it’s not worth the cost for this alone.

Very surprised at how tired and unkempt our room was for the price we paid! Photos of the rooms are quite misleading. The entrance to the hotel and foyer area are beautiful going up to the room with excitement to open the door to a stale smell, old wrinkled carpet covered in stains, dusty furniture, The kitchenette area surfaces had crumbs and sticky patches, the sink smelly and stained. The bathrooms were functional but I would want to stay long term given the drawers were broken or swollen with damp. If not for the beautiful view and the great positioning of the property we would have been completely disappointed! The pool was ok, nice temperature but the furniture around the pool was all saturated and the floor very wet, slippery and dirty from outside shoes. Not at fault of the staff entirely but it could use some regular love.

Was a great location for all to see in the city, we also had an amazing view of the harbour, Opera House and bridge. Unfortunately our apartment had a very nasty smell that even with air fresheners and windows ajar didn’t seem to help. The hallways on that floor seemed to have the same smell !!

Our stay at the Sebel Quay West was amazing. The staff at check in were so friendly, helpful and kind, this continued throughout our stay. The location of the apartment was convenient to so many restaurants and local sights. The room was large and comfortable with everything you would need. The kitchenette was stocked with stocked with dishes, glasses, cups and utensils. There was a washer & dryer in the apartment. The living area was roomy as was the bathroom. The housekeeping service kept the apartment spotless. I would stay here again and highly recommend this quiet, nice facility.

Views and location = 5 star. Cleaning, staff service were all 1 star/questionable. When he walked into the room, it smelt a little like farm. There was dust and dirtiness on everything water spots all over the shower someone else’s hair nothing felt clean the actual rooms itself. Everything felt so old and not comfortable. This hotel needs a major refresh. Also the staff we’re not friendly, helpful or responsive a little disappointed. Won’t stay again.

Was so disappointed with our room. Headed out on an international flight after our one night stay here. We stayed for the opera house and that didn’t disappoint, it was a short walk and highly convenient. The views from our room were gorgeous. However there was mold in our shower, stains in our bed, the entire apartment smelt like must and urine and there was lint everywhere, dinner was extremely expensive. Not worth what it cost. Go somewhere else.

We always book a Christmas get away in the city and try to stay somewhere nice. This place looked nice on the website with a 5 star rating and the pool was the selling point. The rooms are big but were not clean. The floor had not been vacuumed from the previous guest, decorations from a party, paper found ,hair etc. the room was not maintained either large water stains in the roof. Mould in the bathroom. The breakfast was mediocre, and the bar was not open on the Sunday. We complained and were told we would get feedback, only to be told when we checked out that they “tried” to contact us. And offered a bottle of wine that they give you if you sign up for their loyalty for free as an “apology”. This is not a 5 star hotel. Will not stay here again.

Quay West has the most fantastic views and was a very comfortable stay. However, a few items were a little dated and needed some maintenance work such as the taps (some did not work) and the dish washer. Overall however it is a great place to stay.

Overall the hotel was good, staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was showing its age, carpet in the room could use updating, a bit of paint bubbling along the baseboards, etc. The guest wifi SUCKED, and in this day and age there is no reason for that, they need to invest money to improve it. We probably wouldn’t stay there again because of how poorly wifi performed. Nothing more frustrating than trying to connect over and over again or getting kicked off when you’re trying to look at a restaurant menu, it’s 2024 or goodness sakes… would have given it 4 stars had it not been for the wifi issues.

The Sebel is close to The Rocks and Circular Quay although a walk up the hill is not for everyone but did not bother us. The apartment we had was well equipped and clean but unfortunately the traffic noise was very loud due to a window that was not sealed properly. An attempt was made to repair the window but we ended up putting gaffa tape around the window to prevent noise. Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool spa and sauna was wonderful and lovely views from the outside area. Breakfast food was nice but served cold most mornings. Happy hour drinks were well worth a visit. We enjoyed our stay despite a few things not being to our liking.

Hotel is convenient and rooms are very spacious - views are lovely. The pool is great! Staff very helpful…especially in the restaurant. We couldn't heat our room so it was quite cool in the evening. Internet was poor when logged in as Accor members but good when logged in as ‘guest’…took us a while to figure it out.

Great stay! The view from our window was ridiculous!! Sydney opera house and Circular Quay. Amazing. The room was not refurbished and showed its age. There was duct tape on one of the windows. For a premium price a night, it should be better. But, lots of space and amazing views so it’s a wash.

We had a terrific room and view. After a busy awesome wedding of our Son in the Southern Highlands, this was so nice to come to especially as we only had a couple of days left. The staff were terrific and helped a lot with a slight wifi issue for my husband’s business call. We will be back! OUR ONLY CRITICISM: The limited room service menu on Sun and Mon It urgently needs a soup plus maybe a chicken salad and club sandwich.

Property and location is great but dont ever leave anything at the hotel. Housekeeping won't return it. Left an expensive jacket and told them the exact spot in the room where i left and was told they didnt find anything.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff friendly. We had a special anniversary for a family couple and asked for champagne etc in the room in advance. It didn't happen so disappointment all round. We had children with us and could t get food at lunch time as the kitchen was closed on Wednesdays. More disappointment.

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. FYI, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill. It would have been nice to know we could enter through the car park elevator and not have to climb the hill when we first arrived on foot. We walked from the cruise port.

The property itself and the staff were amazing ! So helpful and the breakfast was also really good. It is super close to circular quay and the opera house along with great restaurants!! The only drawback is if you are walking from the light rail to the property it is up a couple of short but quite steep hills , so if you are elderly or have walking issues then maybe a taxi straight to the front door. But overall a great place to stay.

This property was convenient to everything as long as you can walk hills/steps. It has great views of the harbor and city and was close to all kinds of shopping. The opera house is about a 10-15 walk away and the Rocks was very close by.

We booked a harbour view apartment and the view from he floor to ceiling windows did not disappoint - we were looking directly at the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The apartment itself smelled a little stale (we thought it was most probably the carpet) but this did not spoil our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent (but not quick so if you are in a rush on your last day maybe skip the breakfast to save you the stress of the wait between order and delivery of the food - the buffet element of the breakfast is just cereals, yoghurts and cakes so even toast and coffee has to be ordered and served). We didn’t use the pool but did use the gym - that contains 2 treadmills, an eliptical trainer and a bike and one cable machine but no free weights. For a short stay in a very convenient location with an excellent view, we would definitely stay again.

There are a few misleading descriptions about this place on the website which costed my stay dearly! Firstly and most importantly, although it has parking, IT IS ONLY FOR VALET!! Meaning, you couldn't go and park in their car park if you rented a car, where it mentions a car park is available. Parking is $75.00/day. Parking at the closeby Wilson parking was $70.00/day. Secondly, the breakfast isn't a buffet. The only items which are available for buffet are cereals and drinks, and 1 choice of breakfast which is offered from the menu. While doing the booking however, it was mentioned "Buffet Breakfast" on the Expedia site. View from the room was exceptional nonetheless.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff friendly. We had a special anniversary for a family couple and asked for champagne etc in the room in advance. It didn't happen so disappointment all round.
