Great location with clean room and near transport. No bath towels on arrival and only given one that night as there were no clean towels in the hotel apparently. Bar and restaurant could have stayed open later at night with only one staff member trying to manage both. I planned to dine at the restaurant but was told I needed to pre-book which wasn't explained earlier so I went to a local pub instead. Overall, a great experience though and would definitely stay again.

BEDS ARE TOO SOFT / PILLOW IS TOO HIGH - the mattress is cheap and soft. The pillows are too high. Resulting in hip low / neck high posture. Asked reception for lower pillow and they don’t have any. FIRE ALARM WENT OFF 3 TIMES FRIDAY NIGHT - saw this as a concern from someone else. It happened to me during my Thursday to Sunday stay. Awful sleep as a result. My suggestion to Rydges is 1) fix your alarm or 2) put a sign saying A$2000 fine for false alarms to deter hooligans from pulling it. SERVICE IS HORRIBLE - asked for more hangers. Called twice, no delivery. Went down to reception twice, no delivery. Went down to reception one more time, then they gave it to me. Service staff are new and poorly trained so no clue where the equipment is and how to handle these inquiries. KITCHEN / ROOM SERVICE FOR FOOD IS GOOD - one saving grace is that the food is good. The staff downstairs at the kitchen are really nice. OVERALL: I value my sleep so I will never stay here or at any Rydges again.

My only complaint is that the A/C didn't seem to be cooling the room; however, was offered an upgrade. Also, upon arrival, we were told that the underground parking was full and was directed to alternate parking off-property. When we weren't able to find the parking, the front desk did allow us to park on-site so it was much appreciated. Buffet breakfast was great with a lot of choices although the sections didn't change from day to day. Loved the bed and pillows - so comfortable!

Affordable, spacious room. Lost a star because vanity had smeared makeup, and window near corridor had collection of dead bugs. Should be cleaner. Also bed was very loud, and pillows were really high and uncomfortable. Otherwise a great stay, very central.

A kichen panel kept falling off, the towels were threadbare, only instant coffee, aircon didn't work so rooms were like a sauna, rude staff who just referred us to complete our check in online. We stay at many hotels. I have paid less for a lot better - very dissapointing. We will not be staying again.

Room was nice and comfortable and location was quiet in good location for where we needed to be. Service is weird - self check in on computer screen - although the receptionist have us our key. Despite the gold status bottle of wine we were supposed to be offered, we had to ask 3 times to actually receive it.

Stayed at Rydges for an entire month during a business trip. On the final day, simply requested a couple of extra hours for late checkout. Despite the hotel clearly not being busy, the request was flatly denied without any consideration—and I was charged $60. After a month-long stay, poor customer service was extremely disappointing. Will never be staying at Rydges again and will be sharing this experience widely with colleagues and friends

We had a 5 day stay very pleasant. The workers are very polite and friendly. Every time we needed help with something they were very responsive and quick. The room is a little small but very clean and nice. The location very nice! I definitely recommend this hotel 🙌👍

Our room was lovely and bar staff friendly with good food. Felt let down at check-in with ambivalent staff who kept delaying our check-in to room, and for cost of room felt unwelcome. Wouldn’t stay again.

Great value property and if you dont mind walking its only about 2.5 km across the harbor bridge to the city centre. A beautiful walk. Rooms spacious . On arrival at night , did find the entrance a little confusing as a driveway to the foyer is up a lane way behind another high rise. On weekends very quiet area as a business district but through week much busier. Close to supermarkets and restaurants.

The hotel itself is clean, easy 2 minute walk from the metro station, so very handy. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Unfortunately the bit that let it down was the service at breakfast. I am not blaming staff, but it was most definitely not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We had to ask for our table.to be cleaned when we sat down, then ask for cutlery. Once we got food, we had to ask for glasses for juice, as none of these thibgs were anywhere to be seen. The hot water for tea, was luke warm and not topped up for a good 40 minutes after staff were told. The food was well topped up and the same with pastries, but nothing to eat them with.

No disability facilities. Rydges may as well put up a sign saying 'Disabled Guests Not Welcome' Breakfast was terrible. Our poached eggs were hard and were returned. The supposedly hot buffet items were luke warm. Espresso coffee was good but not included in the breakfast price.
