Beautiful stay! Will stay again! Needs to be more known about parking though! We did stay here with the convenience of the $30-day parking however once arrived we found out parking location is only 2m high due to my partners work Ute we exceed 21.5m we had to park 3km away to insure we didn’t risk parking fines! Please advise this for others in advance.

Absolutely horrendous management, so much so that it’s obvious it does not care if people return to the hotel or provide negative feedback or reviews. The hotel did not have power and the only thing the hotel did to address the problem was pass out flashlights. I’m not exaggerating. There are way too many other hotels in Sydney that would be happy to have your business, than for you to take a chance on this place.

This is a friendly hotel in a convenient location. The limited reception hours caused me an issue with left luggage and I felt that the staff could have been more helpful at that time. every other interaction was constructive.

Wonderful hotel, we had a nice room with a balcony. Nice clean amenities and helpful staff. The location is great, we walked into the city via the opera house and botanical gardens. Parking is additional cost offsite but that wasn’t an issue Great hotel for an overnight trip to the city

A nice hotel, process of checking in and out was easy. Convenient location near a nice street with restaurants and bars. Only downside is lack of easy parking - most areas surrounding the hotel at 1h parking, meaning a fine is risked

My stay was extremely pleasant. The location was great and the ambiance throughout was so comforting. Check in after hours was of ease as the instructions were clear. I had a great 3-night stay. Super clean and the coffee station in the front lobby was very nice.

Very cramped room with very little closet space. Housekeeping (towels) was only every 2nd day and with the rates charged this was not acceptabl. Tv coverage was poor with only two free to air channels available ( 2, 7, 10 not available) staff were pleasant.

Interesting, nicely renovated 3 story terrace, with clean rooms and bathrooms. Rooms are a bit on the small size but adequate for a few days. Situated in a great part of Potts Point.

I understand the price was good for the area but the room they gave us was totally awkward. I felt in a broom closet. The bathroom is so tiny it was hard to get in and out of the shower. A little dirty as well. There was a humidity smell in the room, and no air flow.

Friendly and efficient reception. Clean room and bathroom. Handy to transport and to shops, restaurants, city. I stayed in a compact double - yes, it was small but it suited me for the 2 night stay.

The place is so cute on the outside and the staff was very friendly. However, my room was the complete opposite. The room was small and very old. From the carpet, to the paint, the showerhead and decor. I returned back from a show and found a MASSIVE cockroach in my bathroom. The shower head leaked water drenching me even while wearing a shower cap. The water was hot for about 2 minutes before it became freezing cold and never hot again. My sheets were stained with I don’t know what. The carpets were extremely dirty. It’s too bad this was the case.

The hotel was a lovely old heritage building, beautifully restored and the staff were amazing. From this location an Uber could take us to the wharf or opera house location for about $13. It was also walkable in about 45 min. There is one long staircase of 111 steps to navigate both down and up. The area is beautiful and green with all the large trees. Unfortunately, other than the King rooms with balconies, be aware that the rooms are extremely small. Other than that, they are exceptionally clean and very nice.

Rooms are very compact but very clean . I booked a premium king and only got a queen bed which made our stay a little uncomfortable. The location is perfect and staff friendly. We would stay again if we can get a king bed.

Decent hotel in a nice quiet area of the city. Hotel front and reception area is lovely, staff were friendly and helpful throughout stay. Unfortunately our room was very small and had hardly any storage, not good for a couple travelling with suitcases. The hotel seems more suited to business trips for one or two nights.

The location is fabulous. The overall style, atmosphere and decor is wonderful and the team here are warm and welcoming. The only downside for me is my room was on the ground floor at the back of the hotel. The window wouldn’t open so I couldn’t get fresh air, the shutters didn’t stop any light coming in and there was a strong outdoor light which illuminated my room at night so it was challenging to sleep. On the whole though, I will return but I’ll definitely ask for another room.

We enjoyed our stay - the photos when booking were a little deceiving. The hotel was quaint, clean in a quiet location. Our room was a good size, except the bathroom, which was long and narrow - understandable given the heritage of the building, but we had a different impression when booking. We were not in the room all that much, and so not a deal breaker.

Our stay was fabulous, the building was gorgeous. The only feedback I'd give is the lights outside our room in the hall were so bright they shone very brightly under the door. Also the air con unit was VERY loud.

The place is beautiful and just what you'd expect from the pictures. In a GREAT location if you are new to Sydney, lots of beautiful cafes and restaurants nearby. I had lovely interactions with the staff and they were very accomodating in keeping my luggage prior to check-in and post check-out. Would highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a nice stay in Sydney :)

Second stay here, this time two of us so selected what looked like the bigger room. Was same size but no wardrobe just a hanger so a bit tight for two of us. The guy at the desk said all rooms are the same size, wasnt interested in my enquiry!

Hotel Challis is a jewel. I love the area of Potts Point which has fantastic access to transit and to the city centre and pretty shops. Excellent coffee with exceptionally friendly service at La Bomba just around the corner. The bed was very comfortable and the room was small but had everything my husband and I needed. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous boutique hotel right in the heart of all the good restaurants. Handy to Wooloomooloo wharf, Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay. Easy walk to Darlinghurst and the city! Small rooms (compact) but absolutely fine if travelling on own. Love the surrounding stores and a handy Woolworths for any easy provisions you might need. Will choose this when travelling for business!

Great hotel. Gorgeous inside and out. The staff very accommodating. Exceptional value for money. Eat nearby at Fei Jai, excellent Asian food. It would have been nice to be able to access the coffee making facilities before 8am. Make sure you take a morning break walk to wards the Opera House. Would definitely book again.
