We had a very comfortable stay at Tropicana Suites on Robson Street. My father especially loved the spacious suite-style layout. Having a separate bedroom, living area with a sofa and TV, a dining setup for two, and a fully equipped kitchenette made the space feel much more comfortable than a standard hotel room. The location was also excellent, with plenty of restaurants and cafés within easy walking distance, which made exploring the area very convenient. The kitchenette was particularly useful after a full day of sightseeing, when we were too tired to go out again and just wanted to bring back takeout and enjoy it comfortably in the suite. The interiors were a little dated and worn, and the cleaning could have been more thorough, but neither issue significantly affected our stay. Overall, the spacious layout, convenient amenities, and central location made it perfect for our short trip to Vancouver.

The hotel is quite old and has not been maintained. The walls have scuff marks all over the place and looks worn. The furniture is old and broken. We could see the rug marks of a dresser that was removed and not replaced. There is no air conditioning.

We knew this wasn’t going to be fancy but we just needed a place to crash for 2 nights before a cruise. The hotel and the room were clean - huge plus. The overall age of the place… not great. Bed was lumpy and average. Pull out couch bed had springs poking out. Kitchen was a wild Time Machine experience, also came with 2 forks, 5 knives and 3 spoons. Shower was hot, until it suddenly wasn’t, but then hot again. 3 times in a 7 minute shower. Staff was very polite and kind; gave good recommendations. Cleaning lady was old, very friendly, and good at her job. Would I stay again? For the price, yeah - but if I was looking for a hotel to spend any time in, I would choose something more up to date and comfortable.
