It offered a hot tub in the pool and neither one was available.

The pool and spa were being renovated and out of service. Next door they are building something and there equipment and hammering starts at 7am. The breakfast was ok but nothing great. Denny’s is better. Was a room to sleep in that’s about all.

The hotel was nice but I drive an EV and I was thoroughly disappointed in the properties charging policy. They have EV charging available to their guests but after going to bed, I received an email notification that the property changes the charging rate to $5 an hour at around 1:30 am if your vehicle was fully charged and still plugged in. I received this email notification around 11:40 pm. My vehicle would have been fully charged by 2am so I would have incurred an additional $20 - $30 for my car to remain plugged in all night long. So in order to avoid this idle charge rate, I had to get up and run back down stairs and unplug my vehicle. In my opinion, since I paid for the room, EV charging SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTARY! This is a bad policy that really inconveniences paying guests with EVs. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you have an EV.

The pool and hot tub where out of service which sucked which was one of the amenities I was looking for and did not know about until we arrived. There wasn’t any room service Im use to the beds being made and new towels being brought daily we spent 3 nights there. The ice machine was broken on our floor so we had to go the 1st or 3rd. It seems like they were short staffed? Nothing terrible but not great either it was very ehhh. We did enjoy the breakfast thats included.

Very nice hotel its self. The staff was very pleasant. When my family stayed it was extremely hard to find a parking spot due to them having a small parking lot and multiple containers and work trucks filling up majority of the spots in the back lot, there is only a few spot for their higher up memebers in the front, and then the one whole side of their building is only for electric cars for charging. The hotel and room its self was very nice and clean but fighting to find a parking spot for a hotel you pay for is very frustrating.

I travel a lot and usually am very low key with my reviews of spaces. This hotel has a lot going on and should let guests know ahead of time. First, they say this is a pet friendly hotel but they charge you $75 per dog. Make sure you are aware of this if you are traveling with two dogs. Secondly, the hotel is under construction and a building is being built next door. Be aware when you book if you’re looking to sleep in.

The pool was under construction and expedia posted the pool picture as operational. Misleading. Did not get housekeeping for our entire 5 day stay even though I requested it. They just gave towels and took out the trash one time. Very frustrating. Breakfast is very limited. Always biscuit and gravy. Bowl for fruits but nothing inside. Sometimes there are cereals but most of the time there is none. Cutlery, only spoons and forks no knives. They hide their yogurt. You have to ask to get one. Overall experience “TERRIBLE” Left one day early as we felt terrible… Holiday Inn has gone down the hill.

All in all the stay was good.. Our only complaint is that the parking area was way too small. We had to park in back of the hotel and the door was only an exit so we had to walk all the way around the property to get in. Not too convenient.

Construction inside and outside. Terrible customer service. Woke up to constrtion noise every morning at 7am. Pool was closed my entire stay.

Every thing was perfect but the parking lot area at back side of hotel which is far and seems unsafe.

Very disappointed in the lack of quality at this hotel. We had a 2 night stay and our room was not cleaned the 2nd day. The breakfast was not only poor, but many items were not available (yogurt/eggs/milk). They had a heavily leaking pipe the whole time and it was disturbing to see the massive amounts of water being wasted. The hallways and stairwells were dirty. Do not recommend!

Unfriendly and rude staff; bedding stained with gray paint; carpets stained and dirty; bathroom had mildew around tub caulking; breakfast was not available/restocked. Not enough for everyone. Would not recommend this location.

The pictures on the internet made this hotel look nice, clean etc. The lobby was dark, the room was dirty and smelly. Carpet was stained and dirty. The short time I was in the room in my socks, they were black, the bed sheets had hairs in them, there was mold growing in the shower caulk, a hair on the toilet seat and the TV would not work. Lots of banging in the hall. I was not going to be able to sleep. It was late in the evening and I was not comfortable addressing these issues with the front desk staff so I just left the hotel and booked at the Hilton just down the street. Night and day experience! I called Expedia to see if they could help me get at least a partial refund for the 5 nights I had booked there. Expedia tried three times and the manager said he would not refund. What a rip off!

the hotel was not bad, good breakfast and the front desk staff was kind, but the cleaness of the room i did not like it, the coffe maker very dirty who is going to prepare a cup of coffe if the machine is very dirty, the floor was broken one bed did not have sheets, they did not clean the room while we were staying there.they really need to do something regarding the cleaning side.and the worst thing the guest above did not allow me to sleep, they have kids and they were running doing to much noise ,the hotel is not noise prove you hear the steps when people are walking even in the hallway.

The tv lost its signal multiple times while we were watching a movie.

The hotel was a tad run down and wasn't super clean. It was nice to have a pool, but that was closed the last day we were there. The room's AC was super loud, and the walls were thin. It was so so.

The TV in the room was unusable. I called for help with this ancient TV and the kind front desk person came up to try to help. He had to call 2 people to get it working but the result was chaos. No show was selectable in the menu, I was supposed to see the code next to the show and type that code in. Not great for unshared secret instructions to make the tv work! The codes were not able to be received by the tv so as a result no tv! It’s not life or death obviously but my kids rarely get to go on vacation and they love watching tv in bed for a treat!

Air conditioner was broken and was super loud! On top of that they started construction at 6am. Needless to say, we got no sleep

The breakfast was good, or I would have just given 1 star. We got in late and were exhausted. There was loud music all night, which was hard to sleep with, even with ear plugs. Thought it was an inconsiderate neighbor outside. Found out in the morning that it was the music from the lobby below our room! We had turned on the ac to try and drowned it out, but the ac fan was awful and rattled, which was a whole new level of annoying. Broken tiles in bathroom. Outlets that didn’t work. Woke up in the morning and the clock was set to an hour later than the correct time… thanks. It was just not worth the insane price of a room for one night. Expected much more for the price we paid. This place was old and uncared for.

Very very noisy. People up to 2:30 am in lobby drinking and making noise. No one around to tell them to be quiet. Rooms are right there

Stay was fine, except for the fact that there was only one chair in a double room. It was a desk chair at the desk. The rather large area by the window looked like a place one might find a small table and two chairs… like there was one there at one time. That would have been nice, and made it much more comfortable to be there.

This hotel did exactly what we needed it to do. We actually arrived way earlier than check-in time, and they fortunately checked and had a room available so they allowed us to check in about 2.5 hours early! The room was spacious and fairly comfortable. Had a keurig and fridge, although the fridge door wouldn’t stay closed but it wasn’t a huge issue for us. I did make sure to tell the desk at checkout so they could fix it. The bathroom contains bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, so that was nice that I didn’t have to bring my own. They did only give two towels, so I ended up sneaking away a pool towel to our room, that I could use for my hair after showering. The pool and hot tub aren’t anything fancy, but after a day on the V&T train and walking around Virginia City, the hot tub was perfect. If you time it right, and go to the pool around everyone else’s dinner time you’ll be in the pool and hot tub by yourself. The bed..it was comfortable…until it wasn’t. I’m sure it was mostly due to all the activity and my body just not used to a more firm bed, but I didn’t have trouble sleeping on the mattress. The only way this hotel could’ve been better, was if there was a bar/restaurant within walking distance. It would’ve been nice to be able to have a drink and not have to worry about driving. The breakfast was…ok. They had scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes, pancake machine and a toaster for bread or bagels, three different cereals and juice.

I spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express and had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff, especially Chantae, was very nice and welcoming. The service was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, and the overall stay was pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

Customer service was terrible and the rooms below average. I asked for a rollaway bed and they did not have one available. There was NO smoke/CO2 detector in the room and there was a big water infiltration under the window. I asked for bedding for the pull out sofa but they had no pillows. The manager was not on the property when I asked to talk to someone else and I was told by the front desk staff that there was nothing they can do. The manager was supposed to get in touch with us in the morning but never received a call.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Carson City for 3 nights, and not once was our room serviced—even though we followed their instructions and requested it as told. We never received clean towels during our entire stay. When I asked for some, I was told I had to bring the dirty ones down to the front desk at 11 p.m. to get replacements. Completely unacceptable. The staff blamed being understaffed, but that’s not an excuse for poor basic service. If you can’t deliver the standard amenities guests are paying for, be upfront about it. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inns before and have never had an experience this frustrating. I expected much better. I do not recommend this location and will think twice before booking with this brand again.

This hotel was a great place for a one night stay. The staff was very efficient and friendly. The breakfast options were some of the best I’ve had at a hotel serving free breakfast. The rooms were a little outdated but clean. I’d definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect location for our mini family getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and our beds were super comfy. We had an emergency and my husband had to take my son to the emergency room late the evening we stayed. Since I was left without a vehicle with my daughter, the woman at the front desk so kindly extended our checkout time to wait on someone to pick us up. We ended up checking out early, but I so appreciated the accommodation to our emergency.

The desk staff were rude to all customers we saw them interact with as well as us. The room was not very clean. They had no extra bedding for the sofa sleeper in the room and when we asked they didn’t have any pillows to use for it. Breakfasts were not great. Garbages out back were overflowing. The room next to us was blaring their TV full blast from 6pm until 9 am the next day and the staff were unable to address.

Poor service

The front desk staff at Holiday Inn Express were phenomenal. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel building is dated, the room is average size, and it could be cleaner.

This hotel is close to the major highway and easy access to the ski areas of Lake Tahoe.

Quiet, nice, and convenient!

Front desk is really nice friendly and helpful. Room is clean not bad for couple hundred per night.. Is convenience close to everything. food shopping 20 minutes to Reno 20 minutes to lake Tahoe Sand Harbor. But parking lot is no light kinda scary for me to walk to the car by myself. I'll stay there again. Thanks to all staff ❤️

Excellent location

A quick drive to restaurants and shopping. Close to old town Carson City and the state capital.

Friendly check in staff and property appears to be fairly new. At the North end of town near other lodging options and not near a walkable commercial district.

Absolutely Not Recommended! I chose this hotel based on positive reviews on Expedia, as two key factors were important to me: breakfast and a pool for my daily swimming training. However, my trip turned into a complete disappointment. Before traveling, I happened to check Google Maps and found real reviews about ongoing construction and constant noise. To clarify the situation, I called the front desk three times, but every time I was rudely hung up on, with no explanation or response. I also reached out through customer support but received no reply there either. When we arrived at the hotel, I was shocked to find the pool closed! And to make matters worse, there was no breakfast in the morning. I literally had nothing to feed my children. This is a complete failure — no service, no communication, and no basic respect for guests. Our vacation was completely ruined. If I had known about such issues and poor treatment in advance, I would never have chosen this hotel. I urge the management to address my complaint and provide compensation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was easy to get to. Staff was friendly. Pool needed some attention. No Television service while we were there. Manager said they had been having trouble, but no discount was applied to my stay. Think staff may have been short as ice machine empty, breakfast coffee out and sheets not left in room for extra sofa bed

The hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast on offer is great, especially the cinnamon buns. The tv had lots of channels and the staff was very competent, kind and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area. 10/10 would recommend

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here during Labor Day weekend. Our room was great. Breakfast buffet had lots of items and options if you are there early. One morning we came back at 9:30am for breakfast and most everything was gone, although breakfast ended at 10am they did not bring out any more fruit, yogurt, sausage etc. Coffee, tea and water is available all day in the lobby.

The breakfast was amazing. Great crispy bacon,eggs, potatoes, pancakes etc.
