Super 8 by Wyndham Carson City Lake Tahoe

I wanted an inexpensive hotel in Carson City and this fits the bill. It is clean and I appreciate the daily linen service. I also appreciate the bars of soap as opposed to the bottles of bath wash lotion so many other hotels offer. The staff did well to keep the breakfast area stocked. The hotel is a close to the city center as you would want. It is on the main street and thus easily within reach of anything significant including restaurants. There was no elevator. The bathroom was small with no counter space. The bed itself was hard and quite high making it awkward for me. The breakfast was very sparse. Basically, all that was offered was cereal, bread, yogurt, and coffee. The room for breakfast was small and got crowded some mornings. The hotel was inexpensive, and I got what I paid for.

The back door was not secured after 9pm like posted. Large number of peoples "hanging out" by back door late including owner/staff member with her super cute dog. Again, not a big deal, but the need to accompany my nieces to and from our truck was needed. Just to ensure safety. Good room for a one night layover on our travel. The lovely lady who checked me in was great!

Parking was easy and secure. The room was clean which is most important for me. Great customer service!! Breakfast left a little to be desired but for the price you can’t beat the stay !

Add said full breakfast. Continental only. Had to change rooms twice. TV broken, smoke alarm low battery, broken shower handle. Staff handled it well. Third room was in good repair. No elevator so you’ll get your exercise.

We arrived an hour before check in and were informed it would be $50 to check in early. The front dest clerk stated people would check in around 5AM and get a half day for free. That wasn't a good analogy to use when we were asking for an hour. Get an upstairs room, because you can hear everything; walls are paper thin. Breakfast wasn't great.

Broken knobs, cracked up sinks with no drain stoppers, caulking over caulking over more caulking, $10 blankets, shampoo that can degrease your engine, These signature signs you’re in a budget motel. Walk the long dark and dank interior hall and you can clearly hear conversations and TV chatter in every occupied room. While the degraded conditions found in this motel are not unique, what is troubling is that the owner couldn’t give a damn that their place looks like a tenements and they are charging a days wages for the experience. As long as money flows in they are not going to upgrade the occupants experience. They are certainly aware that their hotel is a dump. So what do they do, they smear lipstick on their pig: in this case, $30 posters of nature on the cracked walls. Okay enough bashing. What’s to like? The water bottle filling station in the lobby. The smiling registration staff. The comfortable bed, which honestly is the most important feature. So close your eyes and imagine you’re at the InterContinental, but just remember where you are if you need to make a pit stop in the middle of the night, and put on slippers or flip flops to make it to the bathroom, because you certainly don’t want your feet touching the matted carpet or sticky floor.

Check in staff reeked if cigarette smoke. Ice machine didn’t work. Staff told me I could walk to the casino to get ice.

Pretty worn down. Fridge worked, but the freezer did not.Towels were pretty shabby, bathroom in poor shape. Carpet filthy.

My room was nice and clean. I’m not sure if they just renovated the room but not bad. the continental breakfast was your basic coffee bread cereal oat meal and some fruits. Good location

Clean, enjoyable and quiet

Property was not clean and room was smelling. Felt unsafe due to homeless people near the property. Breakfast was not good at all.

Stayed 4 nights. Rooms are small, but clean. All doors lead to a hallway, not outside. Quiet and comfortable. The maid service was fantastic... much better than most of the higher end places I've stayed.

The Super 8 was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The rooms are compact, but they have everything you need.

Things were torn up: TV, smoke alarm, shower handle, but staff moved us to a room that was clean & in good repair. We arrived about 45 minutes before check in. They were going to charge us $50. We said we would just wait.

Everything is fine except the room size.

Of the three hotels I stayed at on my recent trip this was by far the best and most comfortable! Room was clean, smelled good, and the shower was free of mold or any other yuck. The TV in the room was a smart tv so we were able to watch netflix instead of cable, which was super great since I'm used to streaming over cable. Truely a superior amenity. Pillows were nice and soft, which was a relief after a couple nights of hard pillows, and the matresses were nice too. The offered breakfast was actually great; they had yogurt, toast, oatmeal, granola bars, fruit, coffee, and juices available. no idea why people complain about that when it was wonderful and filling for the value paid to stay here. The person who greeted us at the front desk was nice. Overall just a great stay and we got good rest. I guess the only thing I would say could use improvement was the blankets, a little thin but they were fine with the heater on. The walls were a little thin as well, which can be expected at most motels so it really didn't bother me but it might be something to keep in mind if you happen to be a light sleeper.

Room was fine except for the heater was very loud making it hard to hear the tv. Kept coming on all through the night making it hard to sleep.

Just stopped for 1 night. The room was .reasonlu renovated clean very comfortable best beds I've had on a motel for a long while.

TV in the first room didn’t work, but was moved to a room nearby very quickly.

We had an upstairs room that had a really run down bathroom with peeling plastic on the shower and tissue box.

Very clean but aging, and a little cramped for space in the rooms and breakfast area.

Came with free wifi, coffee and tea in room and a fridge. Very spacious.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had several options and was very good.

The front office staff was amazing. Claire helped me tremendously as did the manager. They really looked out for me and it was very much appreciated. Kind and caring for sure. Thanks a bunch.

Tv didn’t work and still haven’t open my $100 deposit back, one week later

Super 8 made a major mistake by charging our credit card an absurd amount of money. Mistakes happen. However, no one from Super 8 contacted us about this. They let us find out by getting our card declined at other places, investigate the reason on our own, and find out their major mistake. Once we found out, we tried numerous times to contact the management on the property. It took days for her to contact us only after we repeatedly called asking for her to reach out. When we spoke to her she said she would "try" to work on a solution but then failed to ever contact us again. The only way we got this resolved was to file a dispute through our credit card company. Super 8 made the mistake but felt too inconvenienced to fix their error while leaving us without access to our credit card while on vacation.

Scheduled this hotel for our niece. Paid for everything in advance. Called 24 hours ahead and completed pre check in. Provided a credit card for incidentals and was told by the manager our niece was fine to check in. The next day they asked for a credit card or $100 cash to cover deposit. I told them this was all taken care of yesterday. Front desk called owner. They did not honor reservation and told our niece to leave the premises.

We were in Carson City for a unique event, and the staff were so kind and accommodating. They helped to make our visit amazing!

If you're on a tight budget but need a clean and decent place to stay, this is your best bet in Carson City. Very convenient to drive down from Reno and to Lake Tahoe. Although its an older property, it was super clean and cozy. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in the area.

We had a great overnight stay here! The hotel was clean and convenient, with friendly staff and plenty of parking. There are many dining options nearby, and it's not far from beautiful Lake Tahoe. We highly recommend it!

Hotel was on Carson's main street, not an especially pretty part of town but it was convenient to restaurants and stores. It feels like an older hotel but was okay for the price. Breakfast options were sparce and the eating area was small.

Bed, room , location all were amazing! They were $200 cheaper than other hotels and the room was nice. Hotel staff was friendly and check in took maybe a minute. Everything was super clean. The breakfast was super simple but still nice to have that option.

Not coming here again. It was cheap comparatively but there were issues. Thermostat was not working part of heater and it was not turning off automatically when temperature reached. It was very inconvenient. There were cobwebs in the room. Pillows were not good. Breakfast did not include milk and cereal. Staff were very friendly.

The breakfast was non existent. There was coffee, te and cocoa. There was a box of granola bars. And apples. Terrible breakfast! Continental breakfast used to be pastries, fruit, dri ks, cold cereal. We chose this hotel so we could get an early start right after having a light breakfast. We were so underwhelmed that we needed to go out to eat Md ended up having a very late start to the day. Before leaving i asked if this was their typical breakfast hoping that maybe this was an off day. However the clerk indicated that the food put out was their typical breakfast. I overheard many guests complaining. It was not worth the money.

Very limited choice for breakfast, needs protein. Bathroom needs upgrade.

My stay was fine other than breakfast was not good. All carbs. No protein.
