Hilton Garden Inn Anchorage

Jacuzzi and pool were both out of commission, not stated in the website while booking. Also, there was a room on our floor that was incredibly dirty from being worked on and created a lot of noise early in the morning. Lastly, multiple homeless in the area that we caught rummaging through the trash cans. Overall, absolutely do not recommend this hotel

Property was undergoing renovation. No pool hottub. Being in Alaska where it is freezing hot tub was something I was looking forward to. Irritating they were not transparent about what was going on at theIr hotel

The room smelled of vomit. Shuttle not available to take us to the airport. Pool not in service. Rude staff at front desk. No coffee available in the morning. Would not stay there again.

The pool was unusable, carpets stained, one elevator broken, they offered to use the pool/spa at another hotel next door and the spa was broken/ no heat, so waste of time. I will be writing a letter to the company office about our stay

The elevator was awful. I used the stairs because it sounded like it was going to collapse. This was mentioned by several people.

I am not sure if the room was cleaned before we checked in. There was "splatter" near the desk, where you are able to eat, dirt/grease all over the outlets. One of the plugs for a USB did not work at all, it wouldn't even hold the plug, honestly looked like it was for show only. In the restroom there was a "qtip" sticker plastered to the vanity. The pool was out of service, which was not communicated during booking, although the hotel next door was offered for the pool, still very inconvenient.

The swimming pool was not available due to upgrades or repairs, which was not made obvious until we arrived at the hotel. The was breakfast “available” but not provided. Many of the carpets in the hallways were dirty and stained. It wasn’t terrible, but not what I was expecting.

Hotel was a construction zone - pool shut down - air conditioning kept turning on in our room when outside temp was in 20s - tv's sound was erratic....on the other hand the staff was terrific - very cheerful and helpful. Very good food at breakfast and dinner.

We stayed 2 nights at the property, once before and once after our trip to Denali. Shuttle was perfect to and from airport and train station, and driver very helpful with luggage and scheduling. Staff recommendation for lunch was great and there were 3 restaurants within a block to walk to. Helpful, friendly people everywhere.

Unfortunately we were not told that the reception area and pool were under construction and closed. My family was looking forward to swimming.

Nothing too exciting. Front desk clerk was not at desk upon arrival, but was professional and friendly. Rooms were clean and suited our needs after a full day of travel. Easy to tell the Shuttle van is much used - and appreciated by travelers.

Housekeeping was hard to talk to and the floor was never vacuumed during my stay. Bathroom floor was never cleaned. I had to mop with a towel

I was not pleased with the cleanliness of my room at this property. It did not spell great either. I have stayed at the hotel many times and have not experienced this before. My only reprieve was that I was only staying for one night.

It was just dirty. Plastic spoon under the chair, a dusty microfiber towel in the bathroom. A rug in the hallway was spotted and looked not very fresh.

Numerous stains to carpeted areas especially outside the 3rd floor elevator. The orange chair outside the elevator has a recent stain and the carpets there should be replaced. This is not to reflect staff as you can only clean something that should be replaced so much. I will choose another hotel next time.

It is not maintained well. Our Ac/heater was missed a panel which covered all the wirng. The bathroom fan was super loud. Rm 202.

The room A/C did not work, I left the window open all night. The wall outlets we worn out phone chrgers would not stay plugged in and the room was had a worn kind of feel.

Not very good at all. I will start off with the positive. The staff were very polite and helpful. However, the hotel room was far below what you should have expect from Hilton. The room was in poor condition. The towel hook in the bathroom had broken off the door. The room temperature was 71 when we arrived.We lowered the thermostat to 65 and after running all night the temperature was 74. All the unit did all night was make noises. The door to the room sounded like a scene from Young Frankenstein, Our room # was 223. Overall not what you deserve for over $500 a night.

Two major issues. First, the AC unit vibrated so badly that it woke us up when it came on at night. We tried putting a chair against it and a shoe on top but it only helped minimally. Second, the only way to get pressure in the shower was to put it on very hot. If you moved the nozzle to warm water, the water trickled out. The personnel was wonderful, especially Jake.

Poor service, tv didn’t work, sink was clogged, smelled

Quick check-in process, staff was pleasant. Room was nice and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Took a second to figure out how to work the remote control double blinds, directions printed out somewhere wouldve been helpful. Only issue was i could hear the person in the room above ours walking around their room in the very early morning. Woke me up and it was hard to go back to sleep. Hallway sounds from other travelers were audible also. Overall was still a nice place to stay.

Hotel was having renovations completed so it was noisy until about 6 PM room was too hot and thermostat did work very well so we just turned the air handler off.

This was very nice. The room was big . It was spacious and it was quiet. They had a comfy chair for me to sit in as I couldn’t lay down due to surgery, so I was happy about that. It was quiet for the most part, too. We stayed at The Hilton a couple of weeks ago and this was much, much better!!!!! Recommended 10/10.

Had higher expectations for a Hilton as far as the room and price associated. Only one nights which does not work for two people. Not good lighting overall. Small tv and not many channels.

Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.

My experience was terrible. 1) The front desk person that checked me in was unfriendly and not what I would have expected from a Hilton property. 2) i was mobility challenged Nd required an accessible room. Was given one but on the 4th floor which caused much anxiety. If there were a fire or power failure and nonworking elevator, I would not be able to get oit. I told the daytime staff about this concern and as I was down in the lobby, the fore alarms did go off. I worried that had I been in my room I would have panicked. 3) On my first night I requested more pillows. I was told by the unfriendly front desk that O could have them but would have to come down and get them because she was all alone. The next night I requested more towels because no housekeeping had cleaned our room. I was rudely told that I had to ask for that and again I would have to come down and get my towels. Both times I had to wait for family to come and get the pillows and towels because of my mobility challenges. 4) The accesible shower was great until the bathroom flooded due to no drain or way to contain the water. I was worried that I would fall on the wet floor. Yer another unnecessary cause for anxiety. 5) The pool was very cold and the hot tib only luke warm. The air temp was 48°. I told the fromt desk and they said that they would let maintenance know but nothing was done either night. I was extremely disappointed with this property and the evening staff.

Although the shuttle was complimentary we waited for almost one hour and three calls to the hotel for the sitiation to be solved.

Customer service is horrible

This place is a literal joke! I arrived early morning Saturday-4:00 am, the night desk lady was a power ridden delight 🙄. I was confused with their method of billing because I had booked my stay starting midnight Friday. Being my first time to Anchorage, traveling with my child, I did my best to be prepared & with my plane arriving early in the morning hours of Saturday, I wanted assurance that we would have a place to sleep. apparently it doesn’t matter when you physically check in, you are charged full for a night not occuping said room. I had the audacity to ask if I was being charged full price for Friday night, with me technically checking in Saturday morning. she replied with a large amount of attitude that I entered Friday night as my arrival. Every other place I have stayed at & arriving in the early hours would be charged half price. Not the case here. I mentioned I had been traveling for quite sometime that day and I was not going to argue nor did I appreciate her attitude towards me. To my surprise, she proceeds to argue with me about not giving me attitude, then threatening with if my tone didn’t change with her, she would to ask me to leave! mind you I had already paid for my stay in advance, and would not be refunded. that’s beyond wild! I arrive to my room, to find the heater & the television in non working condition, outdated smelly, possible bed bug infestation, resembling a room at motel 6, that is half the price. Requested Refund, manager denied..

Staff was really great very attentive ..

We arrived after a delayed flight and called the hotel, only to find out they did not have a room for us! I had called the day before to confirm the reservation and let them know we would be arriving between midnight and 1 am. Our flight arrived at 2:30 am.and the airline lost our luggage. The hotel staff did put us up in a Hilton across town and their van picked us up. By the time we arrived at our room it was 4am

Expedia really screwed this reservation up. Called Expedia and changed the dates of the reservation 2 weeks before. Staff at the Hilton finally got the reservation straight after waiting 1.5 hrs at front desk. Representative for Expedia was very rude on the phone. I had the emails confirming the change of reservations. The mistake was on Expedia’s end. Probably the last time I use Expedia. Staff at the Hilton garden inn went above and beyond expectations!! Location is great - restaurants nearby, lots of parking. AC di not work, shower did not drain so flooded bathroom floor. I reported these to front desk during stay and at checkout. Not a major gripe - just giving you honest feedback.

Our room was next to one of the back doors, so we parked the car there. When we left in the early morning, two homeless people were sleeping in front of the door.

Property was under construction and we were never informed the whole reason we book the hotel was the pool and it was close do to construction the lighting was very poor lights were dim and flickering and hummed very loudly you had to go on a scavenger hunt to find the button to call the elevator and 16 dollars for breakfast per plate is pretty ridiculous but the staff was friendly and nice and pretty helpful

The hotel room was dated. The room carpet had holes and needed to be replaced. The breakfast that came with the room was made to order and very good.

The room and service was great. Bummed that the pool wasn’t available and that you are now charged for breakfast when it used to be continental.

The property was clean and amenities usual for a Hilton Inn. The appointments looked dated, like chips in the bathtub and cabinet doors that were misaligned and did not close. There was a gaping hole in the minibar framing where the small fridge had been and it had not been closed up. The breakfast was decent. They did have a shortage of staff in the later part of the day, but the front desk was helpful.

Staff were friendly but the a/c didn’t work in our room which made our stay uncomfortable. Had to open the window while we were out during the day which did help it cool off since it was cool that day in Anchorage but as soon as we closed the window, it went back to 75 in the room. Also the shower drain was extremely slow but they did fix that. We did inform front desk of the issues but I guess they weren’t able to fix the a/c. They charged $10.99 for what should normally be a free continental breakfast so we passed. Fitness room was decent. Parking lot flooded so people got their feet wet the next morning getting into their vehicles after it had rained. I just think $250 a night was s but high for their rooms.

This hotel is in a safe part of town and is relatively close to some good food and drink spots in Anchorage. Our check-in process was not good. We arrived well after check -in and our room wasn’t ready. The front desk attendant told us to come back in an hour. We came back over an hour and a half later, and the room was still not ready. We offered to change to a non-accessible room, and then suddenly a room was available. The room was nice, the beds were comfy, and the pool and hot tub were great. Overall the hotel is nice but it needs some work. The carpets need shampooing and there are many deferred maintenance and housekeeping issues that need attention. The “restaurant” was not good at all and the happy hour drinks were pretty expensive. I’m not sure that we would stay here again, which is a shame because it is so close to being really great.
