The shuttle driver dropped us at Train station administration building. She never took a train as per her comments. She should be given good orientation about train station drop offs. My reservation was based on advertised amenities, many of which were misrepresented or nonexistent. Free breakfast wasn't provided, a major inconvenience. The fitness center was dirty, unsafe, and unusable. There was no central heating, only a small, inadequate space heater. The advertised shuttle service was unavailable, forcing me to pay for rideshares after being left waiting in the cold. My "view of the gorgeous Alaskan landscape" was actually of a homeless encampment.

Convenient shuttle to and from the hotel! Walking distance to everything we wanted to explore in Anchorage. Nice to have included breakfast every morning, with some limited selections. Overall, good service and appreciated the accommodations for our family trip with a toddler!

Not the best hotel for the price. The room was dirty with dust bunnies and last persons hair in bathroom. The furniture in the room was old and dirty. The tv didn’t even function well and had a blue tint that couldn’t be fixed. Overall just wasn’t a place I would go back too.

The woman who checked me in was the nicest part about my stay. I got to the room, and it was filthy. Hair from past guests was everywhere. The shower curtain was dirty. The floor hadn’t had a deep clean in ages. There was dust and hair in the corners. I got my soccer slides out so I wouldn’t have to walk on the floor in my bare feet. There was a homeless man sleeping and urinating outside my window, and the train goes by about every hour. I can handle staying at a place that is old as long as it’s maintained. This place is nice t maintained.

I never paid over $200 for a room this bad. It was dirty and beat up. The a/c unit was a floor unit which had no water drain so it spit out cool humid air. Couldn't walk barefoot in the room w/o your feet getting dirty, had to put my socks on in the bathroom. Room was beat up and in desperate need of remodel. About as bad as any hotel room I've had. Continental breakfast was better than I thought it would be based on the room, but you'd expect much more for a >$200 a night. At least I wasn't charged for the cracked toilet seat!

My daughter was exposed to bed bug bites. The rooms weren’t cleaned when we got there. After about 20 minutes with the staff trying to find a decent room,they finally put us in a room where my daughter was bitten by bed bugs. Also noisy rowdy guests. Staff trying to enter the room without announcing themselves. It was a horrifying experience. Having to take my daughter to the ER in the middle of the night because I could to figure out what was causing the itching and bumps. Would never go back there again!!!

the nozzle in bathroom showers were put in backwards. The floor was dirty. No toilet paper roll holders. Scratches on floor. No screens on windows. Bathroom in check in area very dirty. Our bathroom door had been punched in. Holes in wall were it looks like pictures use to hang. Shady location.

TV never worked. No facial tissue in holder. Beds were comfortable however. Extremely expensive per night but I see that is normal for Anchorage,AK, in the summer. Very, very limited free breakfast choices. Juice machine was broken the first day and limited to 2 choices the following day. Waffle maker had very watery, gummy batter the first day that didn’t make waffles. Adequate waffles the second day. All staff were wonderful, however!

Mediocre at best. Adequately clean but room was obviously money wasn't spent on repairs. Broken baseboard heater with jury rigged heater attached. Rear rooms overlooked trash filled lot. Very close to an active railyard so train horn noise.

Not what I expected. Advertised to have refrigerator, WiFi. My room did not have a refrigerator, and the WiFi was terrible-on a time limit and only 100 mb. Television did not work either; bathroom shower fixture nearly fell off when used. Needs refurbishment.

Bring earplugs. The train toots it's horn nearby. It is very loud and goes on all day and early in the morning. The location is good, near the market, dining, and other shopping. I gave my credit card for a damage deposit and they put $100USD as a hold. When I looked at my credit card statement, the $100 was billed. I waited a few days and $100 was refunded. Normally this isn't a problem but in this case it was. The problem is that I'm Canadian and my credit card is in Canadian dollars. The charge for the $100USD ended up being $141.09 CAD and the refund only $137.65. This is due to my credit card's exchange rate. Normally when I provide my credit card at a hotel the charge is "held" and never actually charged then refunded to the card. I don't like the way Ramada does this. Would I stay here again, No, absolutely not. Not with the train noise and how they process payment. I'd search out another hotel but in the same general area.

The room was noisy. Located close to train station. The bathroom design is dysfunctional. The toilet is too close to the vanity, the basin sink provides no counter space and the hot and cold water are backwards. The morning courtesy van driver to a back roads long way to the airport and in spite of the recorded advertisement at the airport I was informed that the restaurant has been closed since the start of covid. The positives were they had a room available, the room was clean and although it was more than double what I would expect to pay for a similar room in Anchorage in the winter it was still much more affordable than other rooms available in Anchorage on June 22.

The room was brutal. Portable air conditioners in each room. They were loud and right next to the bed. Shower handle fell off in my hand, also leaked all night long. Beds and pillows were pure crap. It’s so disappointing to see “Ramada” put their name on a dump. You assume some level of quality with a brand name. This was a $50 a night hotel not $350usd.

July 2024. The good: staff is pretty friendly; the location is great, walking distance to downtown and good restaurants. Not good: the standards are very low. One day, a cleaning attendant left a large plastic bag (open) in the middle of the hall on the third floor. My wife and I were there for 4 days. Note on the bathroom mirror said towels/sheets would be changed on day 3 but we could request replacement towels. Room service and towel/sheets exchange didn't happen the whole time we were there. I asked for a towel replacement one morning; that didn't happen either. I ended up going to the desk that evening to retrieve fresh towels. The A/C unit is a stand alone unit that sits in the middle of the floor. It didn't work very well and was LOUD! The breakfast they advertise is: toast, bagels, thawed waffles, some sort of mystery pastry, dry cereal, apples, bananas. Curb appeal is terrible. During this time of year bushes and flowers around Anchorage, including most businesses & hotels, are beautiful; but not at this Ramada - it just looks old, rundown, and anything that was growing at one time are just dried up twigs. It's a bad look. There are quite a few homeless/substance abusers in the area and a number of them were sneaking in to get coffee.The reason they were able to: a broken front door (hard to believe). Finally, its just noisy. The hotel flooring, walls, more are in poor repair. For what this hotel charges/night (July 4th week), I expected a much better experience.

Our room was not ready when we arrived at 11 pm; we along with three more families had the same issue. We had to stay in the lobby area for over an hour where we witnessed all kind of things. Other people that had arrived previously to us coming back to the front desk because they were assigned a room and when they got to the room they found it was already occupied. Our reservation was for two queen beds and the staff wanted to give us a king size, which I declined as that was not what I reserved for my family (husband, two kids and me). The staff is very unprofessional, they were cursing at each other between house keeping and front desk personnel blaming of what was going on; this happened in front of all the customers waiting in the lobby. After past midnight we got our room. The next day at 8 am housekeeping was already trying to get in the room even with the do not disturb sign on the door; keep in mind check out is at 11 am. Like an hour later housekeeping again attempted to get in the room this time I opened the door to see what was going on. The housekeeping lady said she had this room on the list to be cleaned, I told her we have not checked out yet. This was a terrible experience we had and a bad reputation for the Ramada chain with this independent owned hotel that holds their name.

I booked a room and paid in full online. When I arrived at 9pm to check in I was notified that there was nobody to check me in until midnight. I explained to the only guy there "the driver" that my room was prepaid and that I just got off the graveyard shift that morning and been up all day. He made several calls, went on face book and finally found somebody to walk him through the check in process. I really appreciate this guy's effort to get me some sleep but it shouldn't have been necessary. How can a hotel run with no staff at the desk? I will never stay here again.

The property was conveniently located to the 5th Ave. Mall for shopping, and was easily accessible to being able to get around Anchorage, Alaska. What I did not like was: when my grown children tried to check in they were treated as though they were a family of criminals. I had made the reservation and got our conformation, so I thought everything was set. Was I ever wrong. If it would not have been for my sister being there to help them, I am not sure they would have had a place to stay at all on Friday night. Then there was a $100.00 deposit that was added on, that was not mentioned on the web site. When I finally arrived on Saturday afternoon, they had told that the TV hadn't worked and there were no batteries in the remote. I went to the front desk, got new batteries, still no TV. They sent someone up to fix it, and he was supposed to come back with a new remote, that never happened. We went to dinner and I asked the front desk to see if they could get the problem solved before we came back. We never had a working TV the whole time we were there. I worked hard for my money as I am sure you do to, so when I spend that money on something as a hotel room, I at least expect to be treated as a human and not a criminal. I have been distraught over this since it has happened and I am very displeased with your services at this particular site. I will not recommend these accommodation to anyone travelling to Anchorage in the future.

Oh, where to start. So this is a old hotel in a not so great part of town. Outside the window to our room was a large homeless camp on railroad property, they were fans of deep bass music until 3AM. The room looked fairly clean, however, there was no toilet paper or facial tissue in the room. There was a sign in the room that said call the front desk if you need anything. That would have been great if there had been a phone in the room. The continental breakfast consisted of an apple juice, a hard boiled egg, a PB&J uncrustable, and a dinner roll with 1/3 of a slice of bacon and a little cheese on it in a brown paper bag. When I told the person at the front desk about the toilet paper, lack of phone, etc. he seemed genuinely mortified. A few days later there was a refund on my credit card for the full amount of the room. I did not ask for the refund, they just gave it to me. The hotel was being remodeled and it really seemed like they were trying. Perhaps in a year or so they will solve there homeless problem and get the hotel in shape.

Many tent people are staying close to the facility, made huge noise (music) during midnight, which interrupted our sleep repeatedly. Even more, I could not feel safe with it because the extra parking lot was facing there site. I hope this will be solved on your visit to this facility.

The room was very dirty! We booked this hotel because we had to get up early to go to the train station, big mistake! The train whistled all through the night and it was so loud no matter how many pillows you had over your head, it was still loud. Stay at one of the new hotels close to the airport if you’re going on the train because it really isn’t far from the train depot.

Photos on website did no coincide with the actually property, very deceiving! Unsafe out side surrounding area with homeless encampments, homeless wandering around property, homeless individuals inside hotel lobby and in breakfast dining area, people knocking on doors. Heard gun shots, saw police in area both days stay. Room in poor condition, old and not maintained at all made for uncomfortable stay. Bathroom was updated only. THIS was and is UNACCEPTABLE! Not to mention we had elderly individuals staying there too who were very uncomfortable! I would have never stayed at a place like this! Expedia should not be referring or recommending this hotel! Photo provided is of the homeless encampment view outside our window. Expedia put us in a dangerous environment

Property is serviceable but is a very basic motel. Location is downtown and parking is free, but breakfast was minimal (but free) and the price for June was $275/night vs $480/night for others in the area (Homewood or other midrange Hilton chains). Don’t expect wonders but it’s safe.

I always book Hotels with a bar and a restaurant and it was listed so on Orbitz.com. However the Bar and Restaurant never re-opened after COVID. I would NEVER have booked this room if I had know this, and I feel I paid WAY too much for the stay. Lots of small things not working optimal. Door lock very hard to open, problems with remote, lights and the list goes on, but the biggest issue was the lack of the advertised bar and restaurant.

I never review much and do not like to complain but thought I would warn other travelers. Very poorly maintained and run down. Breakfast was in a small room with very limited seating and only dried out bagels, corn flakes and a broken waffle machine. Almost no food so do not count on breakfast at the hotle as claimed. Television did not work burnt out light bulbs abound and no roller for the toilet paper. Located in a rough are with many homeless people. Aviod this hotel if you can.
