Pricing was more than reasonable for a beachfront room with balcony, great views and beach access. Did give complimentary coffee, but coffee in room was horrible. Staff was great. Outdoor pools were excellent, indoor pools and hot tubs need a desperate update. Some of the furniture needed updating as well, beds were comfortable but lumpy.

The elevator stopped working properly during our stay. My husband has bad knees so that was very frustrating. The outside water was not working so we had to get the sand off of our feet at the outdoor pool. Great location and gorgeous view of the beach.

Staff was awesome, view of the Gulf was amazing, the layout of the property isn’t the greatest, down some stairs to the parking area just to get to the beach area. Indoor pool area could use some up keeping was extremely dirty. Never seen 1 guest on my 3 night stay utilizes the Pancake house on site. Don’t think my family will be coming back.

first night we got to the hotel there was no where to park the parking lot is very small we was told to park across the street and walk over.. 😒 The bed was hard as a rock, the toilet ran the whole time, and the elevator didnt work..

The staff was friendly, but everything else about the experience was kind of terrible. The rooms were dirty and in need of maintenance, a granite shelf fell on me in the bathroom, and it is a property that overcharges their guests because people are willing to pay for a place to stay near the beach. I’m not sure I would stay there again if the room was free.

My stay was not so good. We had roaches in our room and that was very disappointing! The linen on the bed had yellow stains. We made the best out of it. The view of the Gulf was great. That’s about all I have to say!

I really liked that it was right on the beach but the hotel itself was gross. There were GIANT cockroaches everywhere and their main wash off station wasn’t working so we had to walk across the street to wash off. I called and asked for extra towels and still didn’t have them 6 hours later, called again and they informed me if I want the towels I can come get them from the front desk.

Our room smelled like left over take out food. The floors were greasy. Hair in the shower. The chairs on the balcony was dirty. The sheets on the bed felt wet. We were very unhappy especially with the price we paid.

Nice clean place to stay. Bathrooms are a little dated but it is an older hotel. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and housekeeping replaced our towels each day. We have stayed here multiples times and it is always a pleasant stay.

The rooms and site are OLD. The rooms were surface level clean, but sand everywhere. The elevator opened right onto the beach so it was expected. I felt the tradeoff of a fancy newer room was worth the balcony overlooking the beach. I would stay here again.

Room 219 needs major upgrades. Beds are uncomfortable, door doesn't seal at all, ac doesn't cool low enough, remote for tv doesn't work unless it's 1 ft from the tv. We've stayed before in different rooms and they were top notch for a budget hotel. This one needs some major improvements

For the price and the view, I would stay here again. The room smelled a hint of its age and the bed needs updating. I woke up with a sore back every morning. Loved being able to listen to the waves from my room.

The property is right on the beach which is a plus. Room is spacious and looks clean, but the bathroom is a bit small. Pillow and mattress are way too soft. They will form a dent after you sleep on which is very uncomfortable.

We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the Gulf of America. The room was clean and provided a small kitchenette. Towels were resupplied daily and room tidied up. We were on second floor with both elevator and stair access. The elevator was more of a cargo type and slow. Ice machine and vending machine were handy. The indoor pool and hot tub are in another building which made for a cold walk back to the room. The access to that building was a bit odd. Parking on site is free. The beach was fabulous with sunrise and sunset views. One night was a bit rowdy with teens on the beach. The hotel has a pay for breakfast not included but convenient. The general area feels safe although the police were kept busy nearby.

The beach was close. The room was clean. Too much noise outside to enjoy the balcony. Chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable. Over all the price of the room with added taxes every day was unreasonable.

I have been in contact with this property for 3 days to receive a refund I checked in at 4:30 AM by 5:30 AM. The neighbors next to us was playing loud music right beside our door (had a joining door) we ended up checking out at 9 AM because we could not get any sleep at all! Told the front desk about it they said that they would handle it. I called Expedia. They contacted the property and they keep telling us that the manager has to approve a refund yesterday. I called back. They said that the manager will not be in until today they are just literally giving us the runaround… it has always been a good stay, but I hope you do not have any compliance or needing a refund because they will give you the absolute runaround and not care.

Great location, right on the beach! By The Hangout with easy walking to restaurants and souvenir shops. Friendly staff! They let me leave my car in the parking lot even after checkout so I could still enjoy the beach for the day. Updated and clean rooms!

We arrived around midnight and I was kind of concerned with it being so late. But the lady at the front desk was more than welcoming. She asked me my name I showed her my ID and she had us in her room and under 5 minutes. When we first walked in we was welcomed by a good smelling, clean looking, AC blowing cold room. The beds were more than comfortable. The balcony was a great added feature to view and listen to the ocean. There is an onsite restaurant that we chose not to eat it because we have eaten there before. It is also pretty good. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was great. Much better than some of the others in the area. I highly recommend you give Best Western a try if you're staying nearby. And I hardly ever leave reviews especially if they are positive so this hotel experience really wowed me.

Over paid thru Expedia. Clerk couldn’t find booking so it took almost an hour to checkin. Air conditioning unit made annoying noise and air blew up directly into privacy curtain. Onsite restaurant staff were rude and unkept. The lack of parking was super inconvenient. Non of vending machines worked on our floor. The hotel cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.

booked my room through Expedia with the expectation of having an ocean view, as described. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find that this was not the case. I approached the front desk and explained that I was willing to pay the difference for an upgrade to an ocean view room. However, the agent I spoke with was extremely rigid, citing third-party booking policies, and made no effort to assist or explore any options. While I understand that third-party bookings can come with limitations, I strongly believe that customer service should still be a priority—especially when a guest is offering to pay for an upgrade. Unfortunately, the lack of flexibility, empathy, and effort shown by the front desk agent left a negative impression. For the price I paid——I expected a higher level of service and at least a willingness to help. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve future guest experiences.

We arrived at 9:30 and were able to receive our parking permit and use the pools until our room was ready, which was awesome. However, we called to see if our room was ready at 2:30, it wasn’t. No big deal we waited until 3:40 to check again. We then starting getting a little attitude from the staff and the informed us it was only 3:40, not 4:00. The manager from the morning told us rooms weren’t guaranteed until 4:00, once again understandable since this was the check in time. At 4:00 we were the. Told our rooms were still not ready. They had a lobby full of customers waiting to check in and were not the least bit apologetic that none of us could get into our rooms on time. Get to our room after 4:20 and have no shower curtain, no wash cloths and there are empty beer bottles and cans all around the pool that were there for two days that I know of and still there when we left. There was also standing stagnant water at the end of the ramp going from the pool to the beach. We have stayed here before and the stay was pleasant this was several years ago. We won’t be back. My biggest problem is that they acted like they didn’t care at all and were very unconcerned. I blame management they should do better. The staff apparently have no leadership at all. It was almost as if it was run by teenagers.

We stayed in room 212 and it was very clean. The bed and pillow very comfortable. We had breakfast in the on-site restaurant and it was delicious with generous portions. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Definitely get a room with a few of the ocean. This place is a real gem! This best Western does not come with breakfast. But it has a restaurant that has a very good breakfast for a reasonable price.

They need to hire waiter staff and experienced cooks for their very inferior restaurant rather than using front desk and grounds to man those positions. Our waiter came to our table 4 times after taking our order and the food was terrible. The hash browns were barely browned and tasted raw. The Omelet I had was devoid of any discernible seasoning. Their restaurant was and is my sole complaint

We enjoyed our stay! This is an older hotel, but it was clean and everything worked. We were not in the room except to bath and sleep so it was perfect. Right on the beach. Restaurant on site had great breakfast! Not fast, but we were in no hurry and it was delicious. Some covered parking. Great places to eat within walking distance. We will go back again.

This hotel was very clean. Front desk staff were nice and fast. Cleaning staff friendly and courteous. The only problem we had was with the restaurant in the hotel. The wait staff was unattentive, our waitress stayed in another section visiting with friends that were eating there. We noticed persons at other tables with a different waitress that were sat 15 mins after us had finished their meals before we were served. Needless to say our food came to the table cold.

We love the friendly staff, the room amenities such as the full kitchenette, the convenient location right on the beach in central Gulf Shores, and the fair prices. My wife and I also love the great breakfast downstairs at the Island Pancake House with the most beautiful morning view of the water. Once in a while you’ll have dolphins swim by.

Was very disappointed bc there was no breakfast on Memorial day. For the $500 a night we should have had all amenities avaliable to us. Not pleased at all. Will not go back. I was really looking forward to a pancake at the pancake house.
