Days Inn by Wyndham Camarillo - Ventura

It is one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed. No breakfast was provided even though it is already mentioned "included" when I booked this hotel. Similarly, swimming pool is not open even though it says it is available when booking. In-room sanitation is poor. There are dead and live ants on the walls and in the restroom area.

Everything was okay, except for the pool area and the spa it didn’t work when I pushed the button. So we didn’t use it.

No room ameneties, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffeemaker, no blow dryer. Pool and jacuzzi empty and caution tape around and both ice machines broken and out of order. Whole place is rundown and needs to be remodeled!!

Pool was not in service… green water..the first room we were assigned to had no heater or air condition . The buttons to turn it off or on were broken off. We asked for another room .. we went to office cause room phone away from the Vatican event wasn’t working. A different desk clerk was there, he asked us if we left room in order! We just walked in and out of first room. The second room we were given had no hot water in sink! Shower did. No handles on sink , just stubs to turn water on/off. The door to the drawer at bedside stayed open We kept bumping into it.

This is an older facility which could use some updates but was clean, comfortable bed and quiet at night with plenty of parking. Many services are available nearby.

They advertise a Fitness Room that is filled with junk. “Oh, that’s closed, um, forever.” Also they advertise a Buisness center which is non existent. Breakfast room is really just the lobby. Bathtub in the first room was filthy. It was peeling up in the second one I tried.

Advertised for breakfast - none available. Had to ask for an apple or muffin. Jacuzzi and pool closed. Showers filthy. Old and musty smell.

Unfortunately, there was not much to like. It is a very old hotel that has not been kept up well. The unit I was in smelled very musty. The carpet was horrible and the bathroom was in bad shape. We did like the pool. However, the area around the pool was filthy, as was the furniture.

Awful!!!!!! Read the reviews and pay a bit more to stay anywhere else! This was the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We first checked in and the front desk said that did not have the room we booked available anymore, and that they only had two queen beds. The room they showed us smelled like cat urine and it was absolutely filthy. The shower and toilet seat had hair on it, the bedding had stains, and the door and shower were falling apart. We went to the front desk to complain and ask to switch rooms. They switched our rooms and it was slightly better, but still had terrible cosmetic issues with things falling apart, and the bedding had stains. Our TV did not work for our 2 day stay, despite maintenance coming to try and fix it. Pool was closed and looked nasty and green. Hotel did not offer coffee or any kind of breakfast as advertised. I was going to say that the manager, “Ricky”, was helpful, but I can’t even say that! He helped us with our issues but nothing was ever resolved. I tried to file a reimbursement claim with Expedia but Ricky ended up lying about our experience and denying our claim for full or even partial reimbursement. I won’t be using Expedia for a long while either after this experience. We stayed over a holiday weekend, and there was no availability elsewhere so we were stuck. Absolutely terrible, this place is way to pricey for what you get. Trust me, spend a little bit more and be more comfortable, safe, and clean.

This property seems to have fallen into a state of disrepair. Call before booking to see if pool is up and running and Exercise Room is functionable. Also Rooms smell like Dirty Turkesh Gonja Weed.

It smelt like mold and there was hair of another person in the bathroom, and there were stains everywhere.

The room was absolutely filthy. Stained carpet, peeling paint, dirty and stained bedspread, busted bathroom tiles, cracked door frame from previously being kicked in. And worst of all, the pull to turn on the shower was unattached and shower would not work. We had to kneel and take a sponge bath.

The facility was dilapidated (beat up toilet seat, stained porcelain in sinks and tub, badly stained carpet).The worst thing - that actually made the room feel gross - was that it needed a good vacuuming. There was even trash on the carpet. Luckily the linens seemed clean so we did stay the night, but we put shoes on every moment our feet touched the floor. A terrible reflection on the Wyndham name.

The room was decent overall but the bed was not clean. I worn a clean black shirt to bed and woke up covered in animal hair. It was obvious the sheets were not changed from the last person. We told the front desk when we got up but they just said sorry and that they would yell at the cleaning lady.

Staff was friendly and responsive. Those were literally the ONLY positives. The rug in the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages, there was rust and mold in the shower, cracked sink, broken headboard on the bed. They charged as if you were staying in a decent motel. Totally not so. Wrapped Danish and an apple was the “breakfast” offered for free. We will never stay in a Days Inn again. Expected so much more from a Wyndham property.

The Hotel is not only old but terribly dirty. No maintanance at all.

Room was filthy, I took pictures and showed them to the front desk and let them know I would not be staying there due to the black mildew that was on the floor of the shower and the crust build up that was all around the bottom of tge shower door along with the hairballs in the corner of the room by the front door

Was one step up from staying at a homeless shelter. Would not recommend to anybody. Dirty carpets , stained showers.

Terrible cleanliness. Sticky carpets, and heavy ant problem. Our bags and luggage all had ants the next morning. Bathroom are bad. Doors don’t close., faucets leak. Stay away. Terrible place to stay.

It's not only dated It's dilapidated. A/C didnt cool, patches on bathroom ceiling, mismatched furniture, house phone not functioning, and bed were like mush.

Door to room didn’t open with key. Went to the office and they said lift up on the handle. Still had problems. Door was rotted. Electric outlets didn’t work.

The motel is easy to get to off the fwy and it is very economical .The staff was difficult and unhelpful .The room had an enormous amount of dirt in it .The shower floor was black .The edge of tile at the top of the shower looked like it had never been cleaned .The sink was clogged and the other sink had no hot water and the faucet leaked .The furniture was obviously third hand junk that was just damaged.On my second day I asked for clean towels .The woman at the front desk said I had to come to the lobby and she would replace them .I have never stayed at a motel that had this requirement but I did what she asked .When I got to the lobby she was standing at the laundry hamper .She then told me she had to inspect the towels for spots.I am serious she actually examined and counted each towel .I used a wash cloth to come down the stairs to protect my hand from the filth .The first thing she says yip you have to pay for the wash cloth having stains on it .I explained the dirt marks were from me using the cloth to protect my hand .Then she says ok I am not going to charge you for the wash cloth .Then we continue counting and checking the towels .I had washed my hair and there was residue on the towel light residue mind .She was like you are going to be fined 5 dollars for leaving a mark on a bath towel .She then proceeds to show me the contract that states I am to be charged 5 dollars as a surcharge when I check out .Now I am confused .I came to lobby to get fresh towels and inste

We checked out early the next morning and cancelled the next two nights. Sheets were stained. Carpet was stained. The A/C was too loud to sleep. The bathtub was cracking and needs to be replaced. We couldn’t shower here. We left Ventura and moved on to Orange County because all other hotels in Ventura County were full. Replaced the Channel Islands cruise with Catalina.

The pictures did not match the actual room. Toilet was broken, shower rod was broken, lamps and blinds were also broken. Multiple drywall patch repairs, TV was in and out of service. The only thing that worked efficiently was the fridge.

Holes between the baseboard and carpet . Leaking faucet and ants in the bathroom .

The rooms where terribly outdated. Most of the wall sockets didn't work.

The room was nothing like the ones pictured. It smelled musty and moldy, the flooring had patches that had peeled off, just two thin sheets as blankets in the bed, the room was so cold and the heating didn’t work. I booked to stay 3 nights and I just couldn’t stay. I checked out about 2 hours after I checked in so I didn’t even stay one night.

Big issue was that key card took about 3 or 4 swipes to open the door.

The room was like out of 1970s there was no drawers for clothing. The shower was extremely small. It was nothing like the pictures on the website which made me very unhappy. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy and forget about a clean room.My family and I have never been to a hotel, where you don’t get your room cleaned until 3 days!!

The place was dirty and the area sketchy to say the least. I booked the suite for the jetted tub, so i could relax after a long commute and day at the office, but the jetted tub was non-functional. I went to call the front desk and the phone too was not working. I couldn't help but laugh. However, the saving grace was the young lady at the front desk who was kind and empathetic. She said she was sorry (not her fault) and worked with Expedia to give me a partial refund. Nevertheless, the property is old, dirty, and falling apart. The owner definitely needs to do something to remedy its condition.

If you’re reading this…don’t ever stay at this hotel. This has been the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I’m so disappointed in hotels.com for not disclosing that this was a homeless hotel! I arrived at about 9pm to check-in (I was in town for a wedding) and the first thing I see are people hanging out in the parking lot, on the stairwells and in front of their rooms. I immediately suspected that this was a hotel for the homeless. I parked my car in front of a room that had its door open and the person staying there was an obvious hoarder. That confirmed my suspicions. It was too late to do anything since I had already been charged for my 2night stay and everything else in the area was booked up or the hotels that did have available rooms (Hampton Inn) would’ve cost me $800 for those 2 nights. So I go and check-in and I’m given the keycards to my room. I go upstairs and unlock my door and immediately noticed that my room looked NOTHING like what was advertised on the website. This was false advertisement. The carpets were dirty, the iron was broken, the bathroom sinks and bathtub had stains on them. The toilet wouldn’t flush. I then realized it was because the handle was broken. I called downstairs and was told that they would send housekeeping to check it out. No one ever came up. I called the following day and was told the same thing “I’ll send someone up”. Again, nobody ever showed. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT book a stay at this hotel.

The sink in the room was damaged when I checked in to the room. But other than that the room was very nice and clean. Check in an check out was simple and quick.

The service desk took forever. Our key card didn’t work we literally had to insert it multiple times to get to work. The room was very outdated and hair in the sinks. The door had no safety lock. Bed was uncomfortable. Don’t recommend this place at all. Mold in the shower. These big windows square windows that bring in a lot of light from outside. The jetted bath tub was disgusting . Never again.

I showed up after called two hours before to verify my reservation and that my room was ready, staff at the front desk confirmed that my room was ready. When I arrived just two hours later, we did not have a room. I had two small children with me. I will never be booking at this hotel again. This created a huge nightmare and unsafe situation for me and my two children. Very disappointed. I emailed the GM and called and had zero response or any cominstation for this extremely big mess up.

This location needs major renovations. Very dated to say the least. The staff was fantastic and a very quiet place.

Staff member wasn’t very approachable. When my key didn’t work for my room she looked at me like I was stupid and then said you probably put it by your phone which I didn’t. Then when asked if we could get a different room she claimed the hotel was sold out even though you could see the abundance of empty rooms.

The shower had ants crawling out when the water was turned on, somebody's long hair in the sheets, stains in the bathroom sink that seemed suspect but maybe somebody died their hair in the sink and hair dye was the stain. The advertised morning breakfast was an apple and chewey granola bar...coffee too. Such a "breakfast" is an insult. Dont advertise an apple and chewy granolla bar as a breakfast, that's misleading and totally absurd. The staff was great, wonderful to interact with. No, I did not report the sub standard issues because quality assurance and control is not my job at the hotel. No, I did not report while I was there so the "staff can make it right", because once again, quality control is not my job nor responsibility. QC should be managed by the property owner/operator. Will I return? No way, I'm staying elsewhere tonight.

I was walking in to check in the lady at the counter, headed to par to help somebody with their key. She back quickly gave me my keys, which did not work so I had to go back down. She had to come up help with my key. The key card has to be sort of jiggled, but nobody stated that. The room was dated, but that’s not a big deal but the toilet was in constant need of a handle jiggle to get it to stop running. The immediate area was nice, the hotel itself had two stories with plenty of people hanging out overlooking from the second floor walkway, making noises, sorry gave you the feeling that they were all in cahoots and up to something as you walked in. They noticed your car were able to tell what room you were in. Nothing happened. I was not harassed. The room was not bothered. The car was not bothered. These so-called breakfast was rather disappointing with Apple and just a little prepackaged pastry kind of thing.

It was very noisy and there were a lot of single men stalking around the parking lot. It made me feel very unsafe and I ended up booking another room.

The place did not look clean, safe or well kept at all. Seemed as though people lived on site. After checking in I noticed there were roughly 10 men overlooking the balcony area and watching. Seemed as though they were looking for their next target. I did not feel comfortable unpacking my car or entering the room. I felt extremely unsafe. My well being and my belongings were definitely at risk. I refused to enter the room. Left for dinner, came back and asked the front desk for a refund. She was a little rude but didn't really put up a fight at all. Seemed as though this happens often. I would not recommend booking to anyone.

Great location off the freeway, fast food , grocery store, restaurants in walking distance. However, the condition of the room was just shocking. If we hadn't driven for over two hours, we would've headed back home.

Location is great, staff is very nice, large rooms,free parking. Walking distance to restaurants and stores. I like that they have microwave and little fridge in each room. Hotel is dated and could use refurbishing.

Not at all what I expected. Picture is so deceiving roll on late on check in looks old and run down. Definitely not for family to stay did not feel safe at all for my kids and wife. Lucky I travel with my CCW. nothing but illegals camping out and suspicious people walking around. Very disappointed with this choice. The only thing that was good the beds were comfortable. Rooms are old and to match the outside. The free breakfast is coffee and a package pastry and that's it.

Do not stay here. If you do, count on it being a filthy, run-down place. Many of the pictures in the Expedia ad are not representative of the actual condition of the place. There is no breakfast nook, no hot breakfast, no maid service. Stains, smells, broken fixtures, etc, are what you should expect. A few positives: Marie Callender’s is right next door, the area seems relatively safe, and it was fairly quiet at night. But overall, it’s a very rough place.

Sinks were stopped up and smelly. TV remote wasn't working and had to be replaced. Breakfast was pathetic - coffee wasn't ready, only provided a danish, an apple and a small carton of juice - don't call it a breakfast...at best (and this is a stretch), call it a Continental breakfast. When came into the lobby for "breakfast" at the designated time (7-9), nothing was out and manager asked me if I wanted him to make me coffee. I said yes and he went to the back and made a small decanter of coffee (2 cup) and provided a brown bag with a danish, apple and small carton of juice).

The room is dirty and the door lock is broken. Bathrooms are in bad conditions. Breakfast has only coffee, bread and apples. There is no drinking water in the property. The apples ran was missing the second day. Bad experience from any perspective.

The property advertised complimentary breakfast including coffee. They do not have a breakfast station, they will provide you with a paper "To Go" bag with an apple/banana & a Danish and will make coffee at your request. There is no way to know that without asking.
