Carmel Wayfarer Inn

Have going to this place for about 25 years. We go for the location and, generally, pretty good prices LOTS of steps and stairs to navigate, so if you have any back, knee, sight, or age related struggles; it’s very tough to get to and from room For young, or folks with nothing slowing them down, it’s a good place. Owner, Mike, is nice guy We’ve realized, for us, it’s run its course. We come to Carmel a couple times a year, but will go elsewhere next time

The parking is not guaranteed. It is first come first served and they only have 7 spots. Rest is on street which is only from 7 pm to 8 am. I was very annoyed about no guaranteed parking (contra to what Hotels.com said). Room was shabby and not an impressive renovation of an older property. Very cheap coffee maker. Windows without screens. Fireplace worked fine. Gas. Large room but just not great at all. Cheaper pillows and linens. Towels were good quality. Older bath renovation with icky plastic shower curtain. Dreary. But quiet and safe.

Perfect location and free parking and wifi...

This is a great location. It’s a clean and cozy place close to the ocean and all the shops. There are some fabulous restaurants right in the neighborhood. I highly recommend staying here

Was able to park my Sprinter Van right outside on the street, being oversized i was initially worried.
