Quaint and quiet and walking distance to Main Street. Great seating area by the lobby.

Cute inns at a central very walkable location. Staff was super friendly, unhelpful, and it was easy to park in reserved spaces. Coffee and pastries were available and good for breakfast or snack.

Great location. Beautiful gardens and seating areas outside of rooms. Walnut room was very nice and clean. Walkable to restaurants and shopping and beach. Loved it!

The Inn is just 1 block from Ocean and 3 blocks from 7th & Delores, with many excellent restaurants and art galleries nearby. The location is quiet with adequate parking. The rooms are small and dated, but the comfortable main house w/ coffee, tea, seating & tables, extra bathroom was a nice resource. The Inn was clean, but could use some remodeling and a fresh coat of paint. The staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, and we particularly enjoyed breakfast at La Bicyclette.

As advertised. Comfortable and clean. Parking was challenging, but hotel is walkable to beach for sunset and plenty of restaurants to choose from (all walkable). Very nice stay

Friendly and attentive staffs. They only offer coffee, no breakfast. You will have to walk out of your room to use the microwave. They have a very cute outdoor patio which I enjoyed so much for the little fresh air in the morning. It’s a convenient location that is just only a few minutes driving from Carmel downtown. My room was pretty small, lights are dim. Parking is limited space but you can park on the street. Other than that, I have a good time here.

Not great. Quite disappointed. We asked about our room being available at 11:30 am. We know it’s not guaranteed but the guy in the phone didn’t know and fumbled his words for 10 min until he said they were working on it and “it should be ready in 30 min.” It wasn’t ready when until 3:30 pm. The girl behind the desk wasn’t dressed very professionally, when we got to the room it was cold and the only thing in the room was an outdated wall heater that goes on and off every 30 min. The bathroom was freezing cold, the ice machine was out of order, and the gentleman behind the desk didn’t know much about the hotel and what was available. It was not a very good experience.

The location is excellent. We had to upgrade our room at additional cost to have sufficient space for just the two of us. The upgrade was cheerfully done. There was no safe and no coffee in the room. Also, the windows do not lock. All other aspects of Green Lantern were fine. We did have to deal with an unexpected water line break that temporarily made the water unusable. We don’t know the source of the problem, but the water turned brown, and we were not offered bottled water. Overall and given the price of our room, we felt that we received only average value.

The location was very convenient, close to downtown & beach, but the parking was challenging very minimum spots at the Inn the rest available was on the street again very challenging & disappointing. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs, very disappointing. The breakfast needs improvement, they served Costco muffins & croissants (next day or two days old). For the prices they charge I thought it would be a lot more comfortable & with fresher pastries & perhaps some fruit. We won’t be staying there again.

The property is located in a residential neighborhood with well maintained grounds. It was quiet and we could walk everywhere necessary in town. These are older style cottages that have been restored. The floors are creeky and you will probably hear your neighbors but they have clean comfortable beds, baths and some rooms have fireplaces. Quaint little rooms with all the amenities. The staff is super accommodating in particular Paul who checked us in. He gave us a pet friendly room with a back porch which was great for drinking coffee and watching the various squirrels and birds on the property. Breakfast is just coffee and croissants. However we found great pastries (scones and almond bear claws) at the Carmel bakery on Ocean Ave just a short walk from the green lantern to downtown. Truly enjoyed our stay!

We wanted to love this Inn and it was lovely in many ways. The ceilings in our room were so low and just wish we had gotten a heads up, my husband hit his head hard on the ceiling! The room was also not very clean. The bed was comfortable and had all the great amenities. The area is cute! Overall, an okay stay but wanted so much more!

The room was easy to find, clean and the staff were friendly. I loved how we had an ocean view and even though we weren’t directly on the shore, we could still hear the ocean. I like how bright and welcoming the room was. The staff were also kind.

The bed frame was broken, the space felt cramped with little ventilation, and the bathroom was outdated with low quality toiletries. There’s no air conditioning, only a fan, which was unfortunately dusty but did the job. If you’re not particular about comfort and style, it might be fine, but otherwise, it leaves much to be desired.

I have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it. However.. this time they seem to have a bug infestation. There were bug droppings under the pillows 3/4 nights. They did call the exterminator, and had us change rooms, but they also said they treated for bedbugs at thanksgiving. Yikes! We were never offered any compensation for the "buggy stay".

We had a one-night stay in the middle of the week. The area was quiet and cozy and super walkable - we didn't touch the car until it was time to leave! The room was exactly what we needed for our quick stay and well-located. Sound travels a bit easily, especially footsteps from the next room. But the water was warm and the sheets were cozy and clean. Would revisit.

The carpet is old and looks dirty, I wore my flip flops. The room I stayed in had neighbors above and next door, and I could hear everything. The floors are creaky so every step woke me up when my neighbors were walking around when I was sleeping. I could hear them talking, using the bathroom, you get the picture. The bed was comfortable and there was a large TV. Speaking of beds, we had reserved a room with 2 beds. What we got was a Queen bed and a couch, not great. I was woken up the 2nd night by a terrible noise of animals fighting. I opened the shutters and saw several raccoons a few feet from my window. That is when I realized that my window was actually wide open and had been since I arrived the day before. I didn’t realize it because the wood shutters were closed, however they did not lock. Anyone, animal or person, could have simply pushed on the wood shutters and they swing wide open. My belonging were never secure when I was out of my room, and neither was I when I was sleeping the night before. I brought all of this to the attention of the manager when I left the next morning. They were sympathetic and apologized for the security issue. However, I was not offered a thing. Consider the extremely high price I paid to stay there for 2 nights it was disappointing.

Sanitary conditions are good. The location is great, too. But the room was too small, unventilated, and not very soundproof. If the window is opened, people outside can see into the room clearly. There are no curtains. We even heard the people next room snoring at night.

Property was a cute Carmel cottage, however when I booked our room I didn’t realize how low the ceilings were. I am 6’ and had to watch my head while in the room due to its low ceiling height. The overall property is very nice, clean and very well maintained.

We had a cute room (The laurel) which had views of the ocean. Perfectly located to town.

The Green Lantern is in a quiet area of Carmel. Loved that. They are renovating and making the property fresh and updated. Our bed was very comfortable and our room was clean! Loved our stay in this peaceful, lovely inn.

Low ceiling in room.

Tiny, uncomfortable room with low ceilings. Uncomfortable pillows and not enough bedding for the cold temps. Very limited parking. Very loud neighbors. No daily cleaning service. Glitchy night stand lamps that turned on in in the middle of the night for no reason. No coffee or tea service in room.

The Green Lantern Inn is a wonderful place to stay. For the price point, the location is unbeatable—within walking distance to both the beach and the heart of Carmel. The property is quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the cozy fireplace in our room. The staff and manager were excellent. We hope to return next year!

Loved the staff and location!

Some rooms nice some dingy. We were apparently given an upgrade - it was not an upgrade - it was dingy and smelled and had two doors to the outside and neither were sealed properly. Finally got the room we booked - it was better - but no windows opened so it got stuffy. No housekeeping unless requested. No bakery items in the morning as they said there would be and no cookies in afternoon...again...as they said there would be. Coffee is organic and only creamer type pumps. Only oat milk for tea or powder. Gardens are not kept up nor lawns. First time we have been disappointed in Carmel with accommodations. First set of staff were not the friendliest. The ladies the last two days we were there were quite nice.

The hotel was so cute and quaint, and we absolutely loved the Maple room! Very private and cozy... Agustina who helped get us settled was just a lovely gal, and super helpful with all the little details; we really enjoyed chatting with her! Think next time we are in that area for the night, we'd most likely just opt to stay there again, and would even book the same room! Dinner Saturday evening on the patio at Anton and Michel was also wonderful, we'd highly recommend both spots while in Carmel!

The Green Lantern Inn is authentically sublime.. Upon arrival, we were 'graciously welcomed' by Ms Augustina, whose kindheartedness epitomizes the Inn's hospitable nature.. Captivation defined via serenity of a misty morn'n shoreline stroll..

Hotel is quaint and lovely. Short walk to the heart of Carmel, with good restaurants and beautiful shops. Fun to just walk around, and the beach is just a few blocks from the hotel.

Pleasant old school charm. Wooden structure built in 1927 with perfect location. Well maintained but dated charm. Limited parking. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. I would stay there again.

Great inn and great location to walk to everything

We stayed overnight heading to San Francisco. It's was a nice , charming little inn, conveniently located in the center of Carmel.

The hotel reviews on their website are too old. The hotel no longer serves a breakfast. It would have been helpful to know that there was no coffee in the room and no breakfast.

Quaint but tired interior. Not enough breakfast options. Great location and only 777 steps from Carmel Beach.

Fresh baked goods in the check in area, cute cottage look, friendly staff, close to the beach, what more could you ask for? Very happy we stayed here.

The front desk guy was very friendly and we thought the property was charming. Yes it’s old and it’s not fancy, but that’s part of the charm! Nice quick breakfast. We’d definitely stay there again.

Unique property. Enjoyed the suite with the loft. Our daughter was excited to get her own space. Parking in Carmel is challenging in general but we had no issue getting a space right outside of our cottage with a bit of patience. The "breakfast" was lacking with only coffee/tea and a croissant. Coffee was of good quality but lacked otherwise. Grounds nicely done to complete the cottage feel.
