Super 8 by Wyndham Crescent City

It was right across the street from the Marina. There was a farmers market nearby on the Saturday that we were there. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The room was pretty clean but the shower curtain was so porous that the floor quickly got soaked. The facility is dog friendly and nearly everyone staying there had dogs with them including us. Great place to stay for seeing the redwoods. We were there Fourth of July weekend and there were lots of fireworks visible over the harbor from our hotel. Oh, the harbor is great for swimming as the water is really shallow and is warmer than the ocean. Also, the morning we checked out our keys cards were disabled and we had to go back to the office and get them reset so we could get the car packed. Parking is easy and right next to the rooms. We did use the laundry to dry a bunch of beach towels. Staff at front desk was friendly.

Check in takes a while if you have to add a pet to your stay, there is an extra $15 charge for them. I don’t know if this is a California thing? I have never had to pay for a pet to stay with me. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We slept well. The breakfast options were, waffles with butter and jam, two chooses of cereal, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, apple and coffee. I appreciate that they were kind enough to put us in the room 103 which looked over the harbor. In the morning we opened the window and could hear the sea lions along the breakwater. It was a great affordable place to visit. Thank you!

The roof in our bathroom was falling apart and had black mold growing out of the ceiling. Parts of the ceiling fell all over you every time you tried to shower. They have a washer and dryer on-site, I asked about it when I checked in and was told where it was! But was not told that the dryer was not working! So after washing my laundry I went to place it in the dryer, but the dryer was not working I went to the office and I was told sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't and they didn't seem to care to do anything about trying to fix it. And every laundry mat in town was closed, so I was left with wet laundry to get all night!

Was fine for a two night stay. Ice machine not working and person in office said it must be empty. Didn’t bother to check it. It was that way for entire stay! Otherwise no real issues

Check in went well. They even upgraded my room from a queen to a king! But then I was quite put off by the owner requesting a "tip" for checking my dog in! If you need more money, raise your rates. Don't ask for demeaning tips for simply doing your job! Guest laundry did a great job. Door keys did not work properly and required several minutes of fussing about every time we tried to use them. Owner/manager said we simply were not doing it properly, but would not come the few steps to the room to show us the "proper" procedure. In summery, fair room at a fair price, but client service could be improved.

Check-in was easy. Front Desk staff very sweet. Parking was easy. The room was comfortable. However, the toilet ran after flushing, the shower was difficult to activate, and dripped after use. Continental breakfast was less than optimum.

There was no spot for pets to potty

Pleasant staff. The stay was nice and quiet. It was nice that they are pet friendly.

It was what was expected. Older but clean enough. Friendly. Ice maker and laundry facilities worked.

Outstanding property. Clean room. Very nice breakfast. The laundry room and ice machine were very easy to access and worked properly. The security lights on the property were very well thought out…

While we understood options were limited given the town and last minute booking, the room was filthy and the “remodel” a new picture over the bed. Bathroom floor, walls and moulding visibly dirty and the bedspread had not been laundered (saw other people’s long hairs). We left at 4:30am because it was too gross to stay.

Older motel right on US-101. Boats were tied up in berths right across the highway. It was close to restaurants. We could hear sea lions from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Mold in the shower stall. Shower knob broken, repaired myself. Hot water would dive to cold randomly, dog hair in coffee maker.

Dirty and everything looked like its falling apart.

Very dirty for the price. This stay may have changed my mind about ever staying in a Super 8 if I have any other option. I would expect this possibly from a non-chain. But from a chain motel, I’d expect it to be cleaner. I wasn’t expecting high end. But… damn, I expected at least cleaner. We were in room 106. The floors felt like they quit cleaning midway. Flooring was missing transition pieces. The shower/tub spout kept leaking water, loud enough to hear the constant dripping. There was a hole in the bathroom door. L The bathrooms hinges were rusty. The hook in the bathroom was barely hanging on. The moulding was dirty around the room. The room door was dirty and didn’t seal at the bottom so air and light came thru the bottom. The outside of the fridge was scratched up and dirty. The inside also, with shelves starting to rust. The stairs outside our door had cautionary tape and 2x4 blocking it off, and clearly they’re long enough that the screws holding the 2x4 was already rusting. The hair dryer was dirty. The continental breakfast was low-mid quality. They had a waffle maker, so that was a plus. The OJ was definitely watered down. I would not stay here again for the almost $200 we spent. Maybe $135 top.

This was one of dirtiest, dingiest, falling apart, hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The ceiling was falling in. The fridge had water leaking underneath it. The bathroom was absolutely gross. The floors were dirty. The sink was clogged. The walls were also broken and falling apart. The bed seemed clean and smelled okay. And the guy working was decent.

The towel bar was missing & there was nowhere to hang your clothes. The shower was full of mold & soap scum. The mattress was really thin & very uncomfortable.

This is the first Wyndham property that we found to be disgusting. My husband had to use his shoulder to open the stuck door, the threshold to the outside door was loose, and there was about an inch of space at the bottom of the door where critters could crawl in. We had to put a towel at the bottom of the door. There was hair on the bathroom floor. The baseboards were dirty and needed painting. The bathtub was dirty and the paint job in the bathroom was shoddy. They offer a continental breakfast, but there was no coffee made and there were maybe 2 or 3 items put out in baskets. For the price they charge, I think some repairs are in order. Wyndham should definitely look into this property as it's giving you a bad reputation.

Did not care for the hotel very dirty

I requested a room on 1st floor due to breathing issues. Only had rooms on 2nd floor. The bathroom had mold in shower area.

We stayed at the Super8 the other night on our way through the Redwoods to SanFran. It was what it was - an affordable option for an overnight stop. Very clean. The room looked like it had been recently renovated. The beds were like sleeping on the floor. The staff was helpful.

The “lowest” price I got by walking in and asking was noticeably higher than Expedia’s price. That’s great, except for when we couldn’t get the Internet!

Room was very humid, A/C unit was loud and rattled, WiFi was weak when we had it, lost connection a lot. Right on the highway so lots of traffic noise. Otherwise, the room was clean and worked for an overnight stay

Motel is right across the street from the ocean!

DON'T STAY HERE! This room, service, and motel was less than satisfactory. The room was old, no carpet, hard bed. The crack under the door to the outside was at least an inch tall. The shower looked to be at least 50 years old. The bathroom doorknob did not fit the hole it was placed in. The bathroom light was paired with a very, very noisy fan. The "breakfast" was less than "continental"-No muffins/bagels-just sliced store-bought bread. The only fruit was a couple apples. A few tiny yogurts. The coffee was terrible tasting. The wi-fi password only lasts 24 hours, then you need a new one. I tried to call the office from 8 pm until 10 pm to get a new password. NOBODY ANSWERED.

We were in a downstairs room and we could hear every footstep of the people upstairs. At least they were quiet after about 11pm. Walls had paint chips. Bathroom was scruffy looking, although I do believe it was clean. The bathroom fan was terribly noisy.

A bit noisy on the busy street, but great view. The TV channels were difficult to figure out. Big beds, great stay.

Stopped here to stay during a weeklong camping trip when we got caught in a multi day rainstorm. Check in staff were helpful, but we didn’t see the staff much any other day. Even at breakfast, there weren’t many employees around. Property was fine, clean and serviceable, just found it a bit odd that the front desk was often unoccupied. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

Wonderful owners....the lady was very nice and understanding (I waited too long to conplete this review and forgot her name) I appreciated the cleanliness and their understanding of my early morning arrival.

Awesome stay great friendly staff close to the harbor. Short walk to the beach. Definitely stay here again.

Our stay was fine. We had a few special needs that were met easily by the staff. The breakfast area was clean and there was a nice variety of food offered. The exterior was clean and the location was good for our needs.

The front desk manager of this Super 8 does not understand customer service. He could not find my reservation, even after I spoke to him the day prior that we would not be arriving that night, due to a flight delay. Upon arrival the next day, he would not check us in, charged me for a no show for the day prior, and I had to have an Expedia representative call him personally to find the reservation. We did not end up staying here and found a better hotel for our weekend trip to the Redwoods. Save your money and energy, stay somewhere else.

No one is ever at the counter; only three customers for 40 rooms and they were placed next to me; a cup with instant coffee but no hot water dispenser; stopped up sink; NO CLEANING during my four night stay; extremely noisy refrigerator on and off all night; one thread bare blanket; extremely rude employee when I asked why a noisy person was placed next to my room when there were 35+ vacant rooms “we have no control over that”; a single bottle of something (soap/shampoo/conditioner?) on the side of the tub not installed in any way; a sign on the counter “we’ll be right back” and a bell - do I wait or ring the bell? Super8 should disassociate from this less than Motel 6 disaster….

Great place to stay when you're visiting the area.

Quiet and a 5 minute drive to the redwood park and attractions around town. The town is not a big tourist spot which made it very nice for checking out the lighthouse, beaches and sea lions.

Motel is right across the street from the ocean!

I stayed here with my kids for a three day weekend while exploring the Redwood NP area. The location was perfect! The motel is obviously older but the condition was still very good. The bathroom could use some updating, but was still very clean. All of the staff that we interacted with were gracious and kind.

Located right across the street from the harbor, with good restaurants, beach, other attractions very close by, including the Battery Point Lighthouse (recommended). Continental breakfast is average, with waffle maker, cereals, juice, coffee, toast, pastries. Room furniture is limited but room is spacious, and includes microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Coffee itself not for connoisseurs.

The breakfast room was very small. Only 2 tables with 6 chairs total. The only drink option was coffee

Breakfast did not offer any protein, coffee was very weak, only 3 chairs in the breakfast room for several guests. The room size was really nice but not prepared for 3 guests and had to request for more towels and such. The lady at the front desk was not accommodating to requests from guests.

While clean, the plaster is peeling off the walls in both rooms we had. And their breakfast consists of cold cereal or a waffle…seriously lacking!

One can usually count on Super 8 being consistent in type of room and service. This place fell far below standards. Old place that needs a good cleaning. Unfriendly rude staff. Terrible super start breakfast!

Just a basic motel. Nothing fancy. There was a lot of damage to the room. Luckily we were only there to sleep. lol. The breakfast they served was terrible. Don't recommend but wasn't expecting it to be great.

There was a problem with my Expedia reservation confirmation number when I tried to check in, but after 30 mins. and a call to Expedia, we got into our room and had a great stay. The location is directly across from the harbor and a great restaurant for fish and chips. The complimentary breakfast is nice. Gotta love Belgian waffles!
