The overall feel was old and not really maintained. The worst part was the pool that was advertised as heated and it clearly was not. The number one reason we chose BW was to get the use of a pool! I thought perhaps the heater had recently failed but we were told it has NEVER been heated! False advertising and a huge disappointment.

The check in was great. Friendly service and fast to the room. We walked in and the beds were clean but the floor looked like it needed a vacuum. The used band aide was a nice touch. We decided to head to the pool. After seeing the dirt on the bottom, the overall color of the water, tons of dead flies and even a drowning pigeon, we decided to not jump in. Maybe the hot tub….nope. Concreted in and unavailable. The breakfast was ok. Typical pancake and waffle irons were the stars. Other than that it was all mediocre at best. Even stayed here many times and unfortunately it’s not what it used to be.

Our room needed to be fumigated. There were flying bugs everywhere. Little gnats and mosquitos. The moment you sat on the bed they all started flying around. This best western was definitely not up to best western standards but it serves its purpose.

Room floor was very dirty, as soon as I walked around my legs were so dirty. Breakfast options were very limited. Place to sit was very very small. Pancake machine was broken but there was no note that it wasn't working. Kids were very disappointed and ended up having cereal. I had to take kids out for bagel. I will never visit this hotel.

James was very helpful and positive, the situation was out of his control. The first room had not been made up and the second room had an ozone machine and smelt toxic. Orbitz and the hotel made it right and refunded our room and we found another hotel at the next exit that was clean and available

Employees helpful, friendly. Property Rundown infested with cockroaches have pictures! Room carpet torn dirty tripping hazard...Mold bathroom walls. Shower does not drain. Will stay at the Hamton by Hilton when in Woodland.

The stay was great. THe staff was great. Cleanliness was great - My complaint is that the fragrance of the cleaning products was overwhelming. I left the door and window open for the first 30 minutes, which helped. I prefer cleaning product smell to a dirty room, but it was overpowering.

It’s a beautiful place from the outside. Inside though, the carpet was really dirty, I didn’t want the kids touching the floor with anything other than their shoes. That was tough when you have younger kids and a baby. The beds were clean however, which I was very grateful for. Unfortunately, this was the hotel that I needed to use an iron in. First of all, the ironing board was dusty and had some stains on it that I wasn’t sure if they would get my shirt dirty. Second, and probably the most problematic - the iron was tethered to the ironing board. Ironing isn’t fun as it is, but doing it with an iron that doesn’t reach the end of the ironing board was a chore! It ended up being a 2 person job, my kid held the ironing board in place (because it would move with the iron) and stretch the tether for me, and I was ironing the shirt. Just absolutely absurd. Other than that fiasco, it wasn’t a bad place to sleep for the night. But I wouldn’t call this a hotel. It’s definitely more of a motel.

We stayed 1 night and chose the hotel based on 8 ranking in the listing. It was not an 8. There was only 1 person working, but he was nice. The pool was nasty looking, the door to our room had a big gap around it and looked like it could be kicked in easily, the room smelled funky, and the bathroom had soap scum from old soap. The overall look to the room was that this hotel had no upkeep and seemed more like a place where a person might rent by the hour.

We had the nicest stay at the Shadow Inn. The front desk people were so helpful and nice. The breakfast was really good too. The room was comfortable, and even on the freeway side it was quiet. I would highly recommend staying here.

I was impressed by our room. It looks to have been recently renovated. Very clean, nice laminate flooring, comfortable bed…we are very pleased. The motel is just off the freeway but road noise is not an issue.

This was a quick stay over after a very long flight into Sacramento landing late in the evening. Check in was quick, easy, and the clerk Bobby was pleasant to deal with. Rooms are all outdoor facing (exits out not into a hallway.) Once inside - room smelled musty, and was quite warm - we turned the AC on which sounded like a big truck was idling inside the room with us. Set the temp for 66 and the room never dropped below 80 regardless of the settings. Bed was reasonable, bathroom was also reasonable, and clean.

The room is dated and is needs some updating. The door is pretty banged up the walls have numerous holes that were patched but never repainted. The bathroom is tiny. The TV is super old and small. We stayed at a hotel on the other end of the trip that was significantly cheaper and significantly nicer. Our room is also directly under the stairs so it's likely going to be noisy.

The room was comfortable, but in need of upgrading. The carpet was worn and the lighting was poor. Mostly, we needed more blankets to stay warm enough (it was February). The breakfast was quite good, and the staff was very cordial and helpful.

The staff at Shadow Inn were excellent in helping to solve a billing issue with Expedia. Special shout out to Monique who called Expedia and sorted it out AND called me back with the outcome, This is an older property but was clean, the beds and linens comfortable and the place was quiet. Bathroom are older and could do with some upgrading.

The area felt pretty safe which was nice. The staff seemed a little unprofessional. The smoke detector in my room was beeping and I was asked to swap the battery myself by standing on a chair. One of the staff members was on a phone call with her manager discussing another staff member while I waited for assistance. Overall very odd. The morning staff was better. The carpet in the room was also very dirty.

Arrived around 10pm for our reservation and was given a room which turned out to only have one bed for four people.turned out there was a skeezy looking sofa bed, but no sheets. Went to see about another room and the woman at the desk was unsympathetic and handed me sheets, telling me to make it myself. When we opened up the sofa bed some old food fell out onto the floor. Our bad for showing up later at night, but service sucked. Never going back.

Staff was friendly and attentive. Right off the highway but not too noisy. Adorable courtyard, looks like it's been remodeled relatively recently. Rooms on the other hand showed their age but were clean and comfy enough. Breakfast was par for the course but there's a great diner right next door if the usual free waffle bar and cereal aren't your thing. Great for pre or post flight shut eye before a long drive, especially for the price.

This is always our first option when we travel through Woodland. The staff is personable and professional, it’s clean and very convenient to the I-5, and reasonably close to dining options, etc on Main St.
