I have been staying at the Nordic for many years. I like staying in town in Steamboat and the rooms are clean and it’s convenient. For what they charge they should be able to improve the hot tub area, and it should be cleaned daily. It was very dirty.

When you pick the hotel because it has a pool and then, upon arrival, see that the pool is empty and under construction you have some very disappointed kids. Otherwise, the place was clean and the staff was helpful and courteous.

The staff is super fun and so nice. The rooms are cute and bigger than I imagined. Very clean. Hot tub was not working and heated pool was closed, those were selling points so I wish we could have gone into at least one. Otherwise, this was a really good choice. They have a good fridge of refreshments, there’s good hot coffee at all times, some snacks too. Very cute!

Check in was quick and smooth. The clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but was small and lacking in expected amenities. There were only two small shelves in a night table for clothes and personal items and no towel racks for towels in use. Both the refrigerator and heat were noisy. I tried using the fan to provide white noise, but it caused the heat to turn off. The common hot tub was excellent as it was plenty hot and had good jets. The downtown location close to the bus stop was good.

There was mold in the bathroom. Dust bunnies in the exhaust fan that set up shop in the 60's. The door barely locked.The shower control valve had a 1/4 inch between scalding hot and ice cold.We were only there for 2 nights. Location was good. But for the price point I think I would try somewhere new next trip.

The rooms smelt so badly like pee. The carpets are so disgusting we lined them with towels and wore socks and shoes the entire time. The bathroom also smelt like pee and was not very clean.

Location can’t be beat for downtown Steamboat. Front desk very friendly and accommodating. Floors of room were filthy - just disgusting. Seemed like they hadn’t been steam cleaned/shampoo’d in a year with heavy mountain town use. My kids’ feet were black. I couldn’t find my shoes for a minute from the bedroom to the bathroom and my socks are ruined. Need better maintenance if you are going to have hotel carpet.

Bed sheets were dirty (human hair on sheets, crumbs on comforter) and found a a used q tip on floor Ceiling light fixture in the bathroom has exposed wiring/exposed housing They only provided one bath towel in the room Reception was pleasant about this and provided extra towels and set of clean sheets but didn’t have a housekeeper on duty at 4pm to clean room and re-make bed

The greatest benefit of this hotel is its location within walking distance of all the best restaurants and businesses in Steamboat. The bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was noisy with traffic and snowplows. There isn’t a comfortable chair to be had..

This review is not meant to be berate a local business but it’s about economics and reality. Is the property in a great location in downtown, yes. But let me ask you, if you spend $400 on a pair of shoes, you expect them to fit and last, if you pay $400 for a nice dinner, you expect great service and exceptional food. If you spend $400 on a motel room, you expect to get a good nights sleep after a long day of travel. From the paperthin walls, to the annoying guests in the next room that arrived at 2 AM that we could literally hear flushing the toilets and brushing their teeth and their conversations, to the snow plows and garbage trucks that started at 5 AM through 9 AM in the morning, tell me, what did you get for $400 except less money in your wallet and less sleep. Never again.

The property was very clean, excellent front desk staff. Our only complaint was the WiFi. Often we couldn't connect and when we did connect, often it was very poor. Not a huge deal for us, but might be for others.

flight cancelled late evening & easily booked room last minute. Room was satisfactory & did the job. Had flight booked at 7 am next morning & decided to reserve steamboat express for 5:30 am pickup in which they never showed or called & utterly became useless once I called them 4x & not able to resolve their no show. Thankfully Lily at the front desk drove me as I was out of time to get to airport. Airport staff Tsa & airport service were amazing. This is what customer service looks like steamboat express. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Roads were closed due to storm so decided to stay overnight. Booked w Expedia. Arrived at 4PM. Was told room not cleaned yet but would be ready by 5PM. 14 rooms to be cleaned w only one housekeeper per front desk person. Same thing was happening to other people so hotel office was full of people. Numerous people turned away w reservations from Expedia because rooms were not only not clean but overbooked - they were the lucky ones. Front desk person left office at around 4:45 saying he was going to go clean two of the rooms himself. Returned around 6:15 saying the same “14 rooms yet to be cleaned w only one housekeeper”. So In other words no rooms had been cleaned by anyone in 2 hours 15 minutes. Hate being lied to. Left and cancelled reservation. Since there was a storm the remaining rooms left in town were $570 minimum at second rate hotels and went up steeply from there. Run don’t walk away from this place!

The hotel is very nice, rooms basic, beds super comfy. When I checked in there was some billing confusion but the next day the manager, Crystal, came to the rescue. She was beyond helpful and generous and did her best to rectify the situation. She came up with solutions and went out of her way to fix the problem that was out of her control. I cannot say enough about her caring attitude and follow up. I 100% recommend this hotel!

The room was fine. However they took my credit card for incidentals. I had paid in full for the room on Expedia. The Nordic lodge charged my credit card not for incidentals, but for the full price of the room. Now I get to spend time with my credit card company trying to get a refund. Stay away unless you like chasing down and getting refunds for billing errors.

There was construction going on in the parking lot and at the adjacent lot. Heavy equipment noise and parking area was fenced off. The main road in town was on the other side so it was really noisy. Beds were very comfortable though. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t close the door and had no vanity space. But there was a tiny table and 2 chairs, a working fridge and microwave.

The location is in the heart of Downtown Steamboat, which was very convenient. I only had to walk a block for good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Justin, and all the front desk clerks were very friendly. The shuttle to Strawberry Springs Hot Springs picks up right at the hotel lobby! That was awesome! I will definitely go back again.

Our room was on the lower level with easy access to our car for unloading. The parking lot is a bit small. A large truck was parked behind me and we had to wait 20 min for the driver to move so we could get out. I moved our car to a different spot so we would not have to deal with that issue again. There is currently construction next door, and the there is a lot of traffic! However, we could not hear anything inside our room! AC works very well! We did open the window in the evening since it cooled off at night, property was quiet. Pool is in the back of the property- adorable green space, and there is a cute little deck next to a stream in the shade. I sat here to read for a bit. We also grabbed breakfast from a place next door to the property to eat back here. No need to drive anywhere in town. Walking distance to all things, and on the bus route! Beds were very comfortable! Staff was helpful and very friendly!

The Nordic Lodge was chosen as our stay because it was the best price for our budget in a town where it's a very pricey tourist town. But, we were happy to see that the lodging was clean and comfortable albeit the building being a bit older. The reception staff was accommodating and the rooms were clean. Since there is a very basic cereal box breakfast in the lobby, we'd wanted a real breakfast. So, I only wish that the office staff had told us that, if you want a to go to a restaurant in the area for breakfast, you need to make reservations because there was an hour wait at all of the places we tried to walk to go to. All-in-all, it was a nice place to stay.

Easy access to shopping and restaurants. Can also take a walk in the cool evening through nearby neighborhoods. Although no breakfast (Creekside is right across the street and is excellent), there is free coffee in the mornings. Friendly staff. My room was in the back corner so was very quiet (could not hear any of the noise from the street). Bed was comfortable (I thought the monogrammed sheets with the name of the lodge was a nice touch). Great shower. I enjoyed my stay here and if ever back in Steamboat Springs, would definitely stay here again.

Great location, reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable, and despite being across from office and near main road, it was quiet all night long - we slept great! Room had 2 queen beds, a small table which could double as a desk, 2 chairs for table so easy to sit and chat/eat/plan. Refrigerator and microwave were a nice bonus, especially if you are looking to save some on eating all meals out. Office lobby has good, strong coffee (free) with tables and chairs if you want a spot away from your room/sleeping family to visit or use laptop. No USB outlets in room, but enough outlets for all our re-charging needs. Friendly staff that helped us with restaurant rec's and other inquiries. Easy walking distance to downtown, restaurants, tubing. Short drive for other activities and even more budget-friendly restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Nordic lodge is right downtown so convenient for restaurants and shopping. Front desk staff were very pleasant. Room was comfortable and clean. This lodge is old but would stay here again. We did not use the pool, or hot tub so cannot comment on those. We would most likely stay here again in the future. Also, free coffee is available in the front lobby.
