Gold Leaf Hotel of Dewey

Overall really liked the property! Great staff, kind, courteous, amenable to needs of guest! Like the convenience of pool & gym & free garage parking on property and that you can park on the level that your room is on. Beds were comfortable although lower to the floor. Room & bathrooms were clean! Only down side but not under property's control is people walking down the street at 2-3:00 am being loud, screaming or laughing that startled me awake several times. Maybe not so bad on higher floors. Had a great time, will definitely stay again!

Needs more trash cans. The facilities could be updated. And the parking situation is absolutely horrendous. Otherwise, had a great time there.

Always a great stay here. So close to everything. Jolly trolley stop up the street makes it convenient to get into Rehoboth. The pool on the 4th floor is perfect! We stay here every year!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was a great place to relax and read after being at the ocean. The indoor parking is an amazing benefit to keep the car cool and access it for unpacking and packing. Used the laundry. It is nearby the pool, so you have a place to sit while it is washing and drying.

It was close to the beach. Parking was very good. The door to the parking area was not locked at night where anybody on the street could get in the hotel

Prices are reasonable compared to the expensive other options nearby. Has an elevator and on site parking near the beach, bay, and restaurants/bars in town. Has a small outdoor pool and small fitness center. Does not offer breakfast. The building is older and needs remodeling/updates. Parking garage is tight.

Close to beach .Hotel needs new carpeting in hallways very soiled. Carpet in room was wet and dirty.

Too many bugs. We saw them cleaning the bathroom and couldn't use it afterwards. Bedding not comfortable. They need to take care of this building and renovate as needed. But I guess as long as people book there well in advance becuase of good access to the beach, they don't see the reason to make any changes.

This hotel is in desperate need of renovations. They have the same stained carpet in their rooms and hallways as they did 8 years ago and the room I was in had a very heavy shampoo smell to it that forced me to open the balcony doors and keep them open so my allergies didn’t kill me. The hallway on the third floor floods, and the staff isn’t surprised when you tell them. I left there when my stay was done saying I’d never be back again unless I knew they had gone through a massive remodel.

The key is the location. The rooms were quiet and while they're clean it did have a dank smell and there were some mold in the corners of the bathroom around the shower.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. However the rooms have bed bugs. I had to pack up and make last moment reservations at another hotel.

The room was cleaning and smelled great. The 4th floor housekeeper did a great job. The rooms were cleaned and fresh towels received daily. Parking was same level as our room along with roof top pool access. The beach was just a short walk away.

Carpets should be replaced throughout the rooms and hallways. Otherwise everything else was very good. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Super convenient to beach.

The hotel is super close to the beach, so it's very convenient. It's also very close to a bunch of cafes, bars, and restaurants. The only downside is the property is a little dated and the air conditioner specifically was very loud, especially at night.

I've stayed here in the past and it was great, this time not so much. I was there 4 nights with weak / no Wifi and TV. I mentioned it to the staff 3 times, it never got better. Thankfully I had my phone to use. Other issues: shower curtain was ripped/ frayed so water went everywhere while showering, the double French doors had really bad weather stripping / alignment so they were difficult to open and impossible to close completely. It was my bad luck to get a room directly across the street from a restaurant so their marquee illuminated the room all night long. The black out curtains helped but they too had a tear in them, it's also nice to sleep with the doors open. It wasn't a terrible stay, but the lack of wifi was incredibly annoying. The other issues just suggest a lack of care, standards and attention to detail on the part of the staff. When I checked out I was not asked how the stay was. Front desk staff were always more interested in watching their tv and listening to music. It didn't appear that they cared a lot about guests. Perhaps it's a supervisory issue....standards need to be set by management and then carried out by staff. I would add, the wifi issue was not isolated to my room, other guests were experiencing the same. Higher standards are definitely needed!!!! I had a reservation booked for later this month, I cancelled it. There has to be a better option out there! Not interested in staying here again in the future.

Like 500 ft from beach, pretty clean inside, they offer 3 full size beds in each room. Outdoor Pool on the 4th floor. I would return also underground parking

Room smelled a little musty. Room was drafty and traffic noise.

The room was clean, refrigerator and microwave, plenty of towels.my only complaint was I wish the bed pillows weren't so lumpy but I also could have brought my own, so. The rooftop pool was nice, clean and they provided towels as well. Front desk receptionist was super friendly. I would stay here again and just bring my own pillow.

I traveled with 2 other friends and we got the room with 3 double beds. The mattress seemed very new and comfortable. Bathroom in great condition too. The outside of the building, the lobby and the hallways are older, but you can tell by the smell in the hallway they clean really well. The pool on the 4th floor was great too! Perfect on the day we we’re checking out.

Stayed here for a mini vacay during the week and I must say I enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I would have liked a bath/shower combo for my toddler instead of just a shower. However it did the job. Very close proximity to the Dewey beach literally a 4 minute walk. I will definitely stay here again!

Great check in- very accommodating:)

First of all the front desk booked us in the wrong room and called at 915 pm and said we would have to move in the morning (We did not). The TV didn't work half the time and the clock didn't work at all. Terrible service. Don't think I would go back.

The Staff is really great!!!

I have stayed at this property many times. It's very close to the beach, restaurants, and boating. There is a parking garage onsite with parking included in your stay. Housekeeping did a mediocre job cleaning the room. The headboard and the table had greasy smear marks on them and there was what appeared to be some mold in the shower. My biggest concern is that our room was actually assigned to two different people. This was brought to my attention because I was laying in the bed half naked when two strangers swipped their key card and just walked into the room. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels in my lifetime and I've never had this happen to me. When contacted about the issue by the front desk, they didn't have much of an explanation and ZERO apology was given. When my husband went to the front desk to get new keycards, they basically said that the person that checked in the 2nd couple was looking at the wrong date in the computer and he thought the room was empty. Still no apology or offer to compensate for the inconvenience and for scaring me. Additionally, the walls are pretty thin, so if you are planning on partaking in "adult activities", you may want to try your best to be discrete. (I had to listen to our next door neighbors for over an hour at midnight...)

The lady at the front desk when I went to check in was absolutely so rude. Gave me an attitude about everything. It’s your job to help me. Not be rude. There was a cucumber in my fridge when I opened it. And the shower curtains had mold or mildew on them. Would not recommend this place to anyone. The immediate disrespect instantly put a sour taste in my mouth. I don’t usually do reviews but she rubbed me the wrong way

I can't say enough about our stay at Gold Leaf. We took a chance and booked after reading all of the great reviews and I'm so glad we did. This is our third trip to Dewey Beach, but our first stay at Gold Leaf. It was literally the perfect location. The beach is steps away and after hours the night life and restaurants are within walking distance. We are frequent travelers and often stay at big chain hotels. Gold Leaf was a refreshing stay in a stand alone hotel. We loved the super friendly and accommodating staff and Uber clean rooms. There is definitely pride in this hotel. I was almost hesitant to write a review as I want to be able to get a room here next time we visit. We had a fairly long stay Friday-Thursday. We did need to take advantage of the convenient laundry which very clean! We definitely felt right at home here and will stay again the next time we visit. We would 100% recommend Gold Leaf as a go to hotel in Dewey Beach!

Close to beach,boardwalk, jump on the trolley, shopping, food. Hotel is a bit outdated but over wised would stay again.

The hotel is just yards away from the ocean! The room was very nice with comfortable beds, a microwave and refrigerator. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was great with crystal clear water. We will be back next year!

We throughly enjoy our getaway to your Hotel! The only thing missing was a breakfast included and a poolside bar! Loved your staff!

Three to Four Restaurants within 2 blocks of hotel

You get what you pay for. It was very inexpensive & 1 min walk to the beach. Pool was decent but can get crowded fast (only 3-4 feet in depth). Front desk was super sweet, both checking in & out. No breakfast available but plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking was fine earlier in the week (checked in on a Monday), but by Wednesday it was INSANE. Very tight spaces & difficult even with a smaller sedan. No frills but it did what I needed it to do.

Not even a 5 minute walk to the beach. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was maybe a 10 minute drive from Rehobeth Beach Boardwalk.

There was only thing about my stay I didn’t like. And that was the breakfast. They had no breakfast included with the stay. But other than that my stay was a 9.5/10. Rates was very decent and affordable. Check in and check out process was so easy. And the garage parking was fantastic. And location was very convenient and safe. I would choose the GOLD LEAF over Hyatt place any day of the year. Thanks so much for the kindness of the man and woman at the front desk. 402 is a fantastic room. AC worked great and tv was fantastic will definitely stay here again next year

We have stayed at the Gold Leaf in the past. It's a very nice hotel. The only downside this time is that the rates have gone way up, and the stay no longer includes breakfast.

It's good to stay at night because you need to be outside most of the time. They have a swimming pool and gym too and a coffee machine. Breakfast is not included.

I liked my stay, although I thought they had continental breakfast, they did not. It was very clean. Staff very friendly.
