We take a yearly trip to Dewey every year and usually get a beach house for a full week. This year, we decided to take a shorter trip and book a room instead. After much research, we decided to go with the Block Party hotels. At first we were skeptical considering beach rooms are usually seedy and dirty. However, much to our surprise our room was bright, clean and comfortable . There are two pools on either side and both have plenty of space, shade and sun depending on your preference. The attached coffee house has beautiful deck where you can utilize the extra space for a nice sunset happy hour or a comfortable breakfast. The service was also fantastic. Check in was really easy and towels were provided upon request. The outside gym was a nice bonus as well. Best of all though, is the location. The hotel can’t have a better location in Dewey- barely a block from the beach with lots of dining options surrounding. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun spot in Dewey.

SO CLEAN!!! -beds very uncomfy though- staff was 10/10 actually cared and always were cleaning. 1-2 blocks from everything (0.2 miles) 2 pools. Coffee free. Smart TV. Gym, dog friendly. We went as a couple:) Could sometimes be noisy but there was a concert in town and our noise machine cancelled it out

The floor of the room wasn't the cleanest and there was a hair in the shower. Also we were charged $12 to park in their parking lot. Which is absurd being that is was off season and parking on the street was free. Probably will not come back

It's a basic motel type property, 3 stories with no elevator but the NICEST people! Great location for walking to beach and good restaurants, great coffee shop! Comfortable easy chair and beds and pillows that don't collapse to nothing!

Staff was super friendly. The manager was great. However, $12 a day for parking at the hotel is outrageous. Other than that, it was a great trip with the hotel located right near the beach as well as plenty of restaurants and bars located within walking distance.

This is a no frills hotel just a block from the beach. The room was clean. There is no hair dryer or coffee maker in the room. Coffee was available in the lobby which opens around 7 am. Staff was pleasant. Paid for extended stay - until 2 pm but had to go to front desk and get new keys because all room keys terminate at 11 am. Also, extended time changes from $18 to $30 within 24 hours. Way too many emails from the hotel and hotels.com that I booked through. 10 emails in 3 days seemed excessive. No elevator to 2nd or 3rd floor so pack lightly since you have to carry it. There is a nice deck on the 2nd floor. There are 2 pools if you prefer pools to the ocean.

At best this is a budget hotel without budget pricing. Shocking to pay parking during off season when there were loads of spots to park. Sheets were not good - pilled and uncomfortable. Towels were flimsy. No wifi so no tv - apparently an outage but we saw tv at a pub nearby. Would not go back.

The location is great right by the beach and bars/restauranrs and the dog friendly aspect is nice as well. However, the room itself was quite dirty with mold on the shower curtain, dirt splatters on the walls, stains on the sheets and towels. It was definitely a cheaper option for the location but we expected a bit cleaner for the price of $300/night

It was so dirty - the floors looked and felt like they hadn’t even been swept in a week. The bathroom was dirty, covered in stains and urine still on the toilet seat. One of the beds was tilted in the middle and dirty once the covers were pulled back.

Staff was friendly. Sheets were rough and felt overused with balls of fabric on them, towels had hair on them, cups for ice had a piece of chewing gum stuck to them. Lots of outside noise from other guests and random patrons on the hotel property.

Excellent location, if you don't mind the sounds of the Friday and Saturday night concerts across the street carrying to your room. Excellent food options nearby. Clean room, sheets, towels, bathroom, except VERY DIRTY FLOOR. Bring socks or slippers. Excellent water pressure in the shower, not so much for the toilet. Expect to flush twice. Nice outdoor gathering areas. Best of all - ocean block location for reasonable price.

The property was decent. It was close to the beach, but that's about it. The staff was non-existent, and the rooms were not very clean. The floor was filthy. I don't think it was ever cleaned. And the sheets were stained and dirty, and there was food in the refrigerator and the microwave, which was pretty gross. I don't think I would stay there again, but the town is nice, the beach is nice; just pick another hotel.

There was no toilet paper in the room. There is black mold in the shower. The towel I put on the bathroom floor for my shower got dirty from the floor not being clean. There were ants- just a few. On a positive note, the young woman at the front desk was very nice and pleasant and provided us with toilet paper and a hair dryer.

Staff greeted us and took great care of us! The room was nice and updated and clean. However, when I went to get in bed at midnight after a long day my sheets were full of long hair. Not just a few, a lot! It was gross and it was late so I re covered the bed and slept on the top of the comforter under the sheet covering it. I would stay again since everything else was clean, but next time l will check my bed on arrival!

I liked that the property was close to the beach and had a lot of restaurants and stores within walking distance. I didn't have to do a lot of driving once there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean, well-maintained, and had a lot of unique touches. My room was a little smaller than what I'm used to, but I would definitely visit again.

The front desk people were nice and helpful. Very close to the beach and dog friendly, which was a huge plus. Location is more for people who want to party on the weekend and like loud music. The music was so loud from the bar across the street and on top of that, the screaming drunk people at night were obnoxious. If you want to relax and have a quiet night sleep, this place may not be the place to stay.

So we were given one key for 3 people and when asked for another key I was told “they are not available” by a very rude and condescending person at the front desk. 2 very small pillows per bed and could not ask for more. Clean rooms every 3 days???? I’m paying $350 a night plus parking now and I can’t even have the room cleaned! It’s a beach town. We are showering multiple times a day and sand everywhere . Insanity!

Amazing location. Seems updated for a motel. Clean pool. Housekeeping staff was amazing! BUT the hotel couldn’t find our reservation and charged for $1972 TWICE when the room was prepaid for and was $1312 total. These weren’t holds they actually cleared my bank. Then they went to charge me $287 again but my bank flagged it. I spent three hours in the lobby in an effort to get this fixed and it but it’s still not fully resolved.

We booked another night, before getting there and the reservations wasn’t booked properly. So they upgraded our room free of charge. From then on it was a wonderful stay. Front desk employees were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and reasonably stocked with towels and kitchen supplies. We will be back!

Locations is perfect. Unfortunately the ladies at the desk were not helpful. We arrived on a Sat afternoon, we went to the desk on Monday asking if anyone would be in to clean the floors and bring clean towels. We were told by one lady they come in every 2 days then when no one came in Monday and we had to go to the front desk to ask for towels, another employee told us every 3 days. Needless to say we were there from Sat-Friday and not one cleaning person ever approached our room and all week we had to go request towels and ask to have our trash changed. Unacceptable

the location is incredible! close to the beach, close to dining, and close to music venues. staff keeps it clean, but you\'ll have to call to get someone to clean mid-stay. the biggest negative is the street noise - loud cars and motorcycles till the early morning. we slept with the a/c in "constant" mode and with the TV on - not ideal but it worked. oh yeah! it\'s dog friendly too! parking is tight, but we never had an issue finding a spot. right in the heart of dewey beach, you couldn\'t ask for a better location.

Surprised the rooms were not serviced each day, even if it was just towels and trash. We also had dogs the barked alot in nearby rooms, while that is not your fault, it did impact our quiet time. Having the coffee shop right there was very convenient. Ability to access everything in town on foot was great.

Great location, easy beach walk and pet friendly make this a good spot for a shorter visit. It could be a little cleaner, there could be a few more towels, but the bed was comfortable. Coffee shop on property was good to find. And the sun deck is great for morning coffee or a happy hour glass.
