Awesome owners and great amenities for a beach motel, especially the dog wash, hoses outside your room, water & ice machines, and complimentary snacks! Basic bathroom, not anything too special but perfect for our needs. Comfortable bed & pillows!

If you have a pet, this is the place for you. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Upon arrival, our dog received a little gift bag and a toy. We had access to all-day coffee (available after 8 AM) and snacks, and there was a special dog bath for after those sandy beach visits. The room was clean and spacious with a fridge and microwave. If we are in the area again, we wouldn't have to think twice about where we would be staying; it would be at The Dunes.

We LOVED staying here! The property was very close to the beach and had a hose available to wash the sand off your feet before you return to your room. The lobby also had coffee, ice water, and a wide assortment of complimentary snacks.

Although the building is clearly older the owners have taken great care in trying to give it an updated feel. I loved the pet friendliness they have which included treats in the office and a self use doggie wash!

Friendly staff, super clean room, and a comfy bed- all at one of the lowest rates I saw in the area for the weekend I stayed there! The renovated wood flooring is such a nice feature compared to carpet- especially at the beach.

No issues, clean, convenient, good value, though it's on a main road, so sounds could be an issue if one is seeking a quieter stay.

Nice weekend in a clean and quiet hotel.

My wife and i love staying here because they allow dogs and our dog goes everywhere with us. It's also perfectly located between Rehoboth and Dewey/Delaware Seashore State Park. You can easily ride your bike into Rehoboth for dinner. The only thing that was negative about our stay this time is that the bathroom smelled mildew-y and you could see that the shower curtain liner was orange with mildew. Other than that, we always enjoy staying at The Dunes and will definitely stay again.

The room itself was nice and clean! The staff was very nice and efficient .The bathroom smelled a little like mildew and was outdated as compared to the rest of the room. The walls between rooms and the outside were very thin. We could hear a party going on in the room above us all night and with the noise from the traffic outside it was not very restful. I’d recommend this place over the week but it was very noisy over the weekend.

Strong smell of mildew in both rooms. Dirty floors in both rooms (bottoms of bare feet black within minutes). Almost everything in room was old, dirty and in disrepair. I can't imagine where the positive reviews are coming from.

I've stayed at The Dunes many times before. I like thatvthey allow pets. It's one of the reasons my wife and I usually stay there. That and the proximity to the beach we like to go to in Delaware Seashore State Park. Our stay this time, however, wasn't so great. The room itself was clean, but there was a strong smell of wet dirt inside the room. We checked everything and we found out the smell was coming from the air conditioner. I figured I would just get used to the smell and nose blind to it after a while, which wasn't the case the first night, but was the case the second night. My dog that was with us, didn't seem to be bothered by the smell. Then there was the issue of the tv not working. We could use the remote to turn the tv on and change the volume level, but that was it. When we turned it on, since we couldn't get to the channel guide or change the channel, our only option was the Hallmark channel which was playing Christmas themed movies. Thankfully, my wife brought her laptop and a hdmi cable so we connected her laptop to the tv and were able to watch the Olympics. Other than those 2 issues, our stay was fine. We were on the first floor, which we liked because we had our dog with us. We like the proximity to everything. They have a little dog bathing area outside that you can wash your dog and yourself off after a day at the beach. We'll most likely stay there again in the future.

No complaints other than the ac didn’t work that well.

Everything was great except for the location of our room, being ground level and directly next to the office. A bit noisy with the coming and going of people and the main road there, but the ac unit helps to cover it. The room was clean. It was a 7 minute walk to the beach.

This hotel was okay. The location was good for driving access to the beach and rehoboth attractions. The woman checking people in was very friendly and helped us figure out how to work the TV (which was much more complicated than it should have been). They offered mini muffins in the morning and had some complimentary snacks available throughout the day. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom was very tiny. Very clean though!

The property was clean and very accessible to downtown Dewey and even Rehoboth but our hair dryer was broken and an outlet wasn’t working and fell apart when I took out my plug. Good for 1 night.

Clean and basic for a good comfortable night’s rest

Office staff was super friendly and the room was pretty clean. The bolt lock on the door didn’t work, so we put a chair in front of the door. It was hard to sleep because we felt unsafe, and it was super noisy. It’s located right on the main street so you can hear everything.

Super convenient clean comfortable near the heart of Dewey. Only downside was the draft from the AC on the bed closest to the window.

Beds werent the best but for the value this was a great stay. Well be back!

We are in Dewey every other weekend and The Dunes is our go to every time! Rooms are always immaculate and AC is ice cold. The staff is always there to greet you with a smile 😃

The staff address all issues fast and efficiently. Would shay there again.

The front desk called the police on an AF woman who was involved in domestic dispute that didn't involve any weapons or immediate danger to anyone before the 9p hour. The front desk people never came out to assist or ask was everything OK. Instead, they denied an already paid in full stay with no refund. This place has no humanity, no respect for life happening, just assumes the worst!

Staff was very helpful in suggesting food and places to go or get around. Check in was very simple and service was excellent! Will go back next time we are in the area

Hotel was very clean and friendly. Staff was great. Dog Friendly. I will say, I communicated to English-speaking staff that my dog would not appreciate a stranger entering the room. On two occasions, cleaning staff entered the room. Thankfully, my partner and I were there. Otherwise, I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s a nice one. You can hear the traffic, but it’s in walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. The rates are a lot more reasonable than nearby resorts hotels. I would happily stay at the Dunes again.

My daughter and I stayed here for a lacrosse tournament and it was awesome! Great price, comfy beds, clean, sweet decor, free snacks, coffee and best of all we could walk to the beaches and boardwalk. The houses around this area are super bougie so that was fun to see when we were exploring. We will definitely stay here when we come to play sports up in Frederica again!!!

The hotel is located in between Dewey Beach and Rehoboth Beach. You can easily walk to Dewey and the Main Street area on a safe sidewalk. Walking to Regoboth would not be easy- due to lack of sidewalks and distance. Biking yes. The staff was very nice here. Rates the best for the area and DOG friendly.

It's conveniently located for vacations near Dewey or Rehoboth Beach. I was pretty happy with how easy it was to make multiple trips back and forth from the boardwalk and my hotel in one day. As for the facilities, you can tell this is an older building, but it's been maintained and kept clean, and the hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful. That bumps it up a rank in my opinion. Staff was excellent, helpful and make you feel welcome. Room clean, comfortable. Nice store with deli in 5 min walk. Beach 10 min walk. Many dining options in a walking distance. Close to Rehoboth (5 min drive).

The room was very clean, comfortable, and convenient. The Dunes location is wonderful, close to all the beaches and tons of dining and shopping options. The management was exceptionally kind and helpful. We traveled with two small dogs and the Dunes couldn’t have been more supportive and caring. I can highly recommend the Dunes for your next stay at Rehobeth beach.

Decent location for the price, beach is walkable. Room was clean and the staff were nice. This is a renovated motel so as long as you are expecting a motel experience you should be fine with staying here. The only down side is the traffic noise, so if you are a light sleeper you may want to consider that.

This hotel is the perfect location for being able to walk to Dewey and Rehoboth beaches. The rooms are cute and comfortable, and there are a variety of free snacks and coffee available in the lobby. Beth was very welcoming at check-in and gave great tips on how to get around the area.

The “breakfast” was a fruit basket, granola bars and coffe in an office that is locked till 830AM. Our door was so hard to push open almost jammed shut. The tv took forever to turn on (not kidding) had to turn the power button in and wait two minutes for it to kick on. Our neighbors were drunk and fighting at 2am that someone called the cops. The room itself was clean and fresh.
