Good people, helpful. Provided convenient parking for a rental golf cart when they had no obligation to do so. Continental breakfast well done also. Ideal location to Duval, Fausto’s, Green Parrot, etc.

This property is located walkable to Duval Street but far enough away that it’s quiet. Excellent checkin, housekeeping and breakfast bar service. The property is a little dated but clean. Highly recommend.

The bathrooms could use some updating and the sheets were stained. Breakfast was good but we found a cockroach in the indoor breakfast area. The pool was fantastic and we loved the cat who seems to live on the property!

The toilet base was rusted and not secured to the floor - the refrigerator door was all rusted. We took out our own trash and had to get our own towels and toilet paper. Would never stay there again - very disappointed!!!!

We wanted to love this hotel, but we couldn’t. Location is amazing, but sadly our room was infested with bugs. They were everywhere. In the bed, the lamps, nightstands… We arrived late and checked in after hours, but didn’t even get a key, only a map with the instructions to get to the room. The person at the front desk told me “just so you know bugs/termites are everywhere in the keys”. They might be everywhere, but this is a hotel. Those SHOULDN’T be on the bed! Minor things, the bathroom also had a weird smell and the AC is super loud…

It was fine until… We stayed 4 nights. We didn’t have soap…fine, we bought some. The faucet was broke…no biggie, we made it work. The bad part came when we checked out and we had quite a bit of time before our trip home so we hung out at the pool. Our room was right by the pool so we saw the maid clean up our room after we checked out. She placed new clean sheets on the bed but used the same comforter and pillow shams that we had just slept in for 4 nights. Gross. Does that mean we just slept in someone else’s comforter for 4 nights?! So we looked around and noticed the maids did not take any comforters out of the rooms, only the sheets. My husband said something to the front desk and they were quick to discount what we were saying. They said something like they only clean them every other day. I don’t think he was understanding that new customers were about to sleep on the comforter that we just slept on for 4 days. I don’t understand how this is ok.

Heron House is very conveniently located one street from Duval. So it was within walking distance of most attractions but also quiet. The atmosphere was great and relaxing. The breakfast was about what I would expect for a casual BnB. It was adequate/fine but nothing special. What I didn't like: There was a small stain on the bedsheet. It was obviously a clean sheet, but I didn't want to see that. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. All that being said, if I were to return to Key West, I would not be upset staying there again.

What a lovely and cozy property, with alot more potential. The only issue was the housekeeping. As soon as we checked in (room #6), I went to the bathroom to urinate, I lifted the toilet seat and guess what, it was dirty. It had hairs and piss stains, unacceptable. I mean, this is just basic. Then I went to wash my hands at the sink and the chrome fixtures were all stained, probably toothpaste. That was our first impression of our room, I went to the front desk and asked for antibacterial wipes because it seems that the housekeeper had left for the day. Other than that, some lights were out by the dark pathway towards the front. Just little details with much importance to us travelers.

Location was perfect. Rooms were not very clean & need some updates as simple as fresh paint. Breakfast area (where food was located) was not the cleanest. Pool was a little dirty, but nice to have in Key West.

Not the cleanest facilities. The door to our room has a 3/4” gap which lizards entered through. Continental breakfast was a few pieces of old fruit and “hard boiled” eggs. The pool was nice, the upper deck certainly had some views too.

I've stayed here, at Heron House, 4 or 5 times before. It's always been a great value, just a block off Duval St in Key West, in a funky little resort. This time Tropical Storm Debbie came through August 2024 and the Key West Express Ferry to Fort Myers was cancelled, so we needed to stay 3 more days. The staff was super helpful. I'll be back again. Only issue is the beds are like sleeping on plywood, however that won't keep me away. Thank you!

This property gives you a feel of Old Key West It's comfortable but the king tropical room was small. The breakfast was good. It's easily walkable to Duvall and surrounding areas.

The room was clean and spacious and the AC worked well. The shower was fine and there was good lighting. However, there was no dedicated parking by the hotel so we had to park several blocks down the road or pay an arm and a leg for nearby (but not at the hotel) parking. So that was very inconvenient. Also, the bed was extremely hard/uncomfortable and the TV was miniscule. The location was excellent but I think we could have stayed at another place nearby that checked off more boxes. I wouldn't stay there again, but it's not a bad place.

We only stayed one night here because our original hotel was full the day that we arrived, but we had a decent stay. The room was a little small, and had a tiny shower but it had great water pressure, so it made up for its size! The bed was not very comfortable, and we did not sleep well even though we were exhausted from traveling all day. The inside of the room could use a bit of updating but overall it was a fine experience (our second hotel was definitely an improvement than our one night stay here). The complimentary breakfast was okay but definitely could have been better!

Group of 12, 6 rooms and we all had a great time. The beds were comfortable, pillows were a tad thin. Rooms were clean and they came in everyday to freshen them up. Coffee and continental breakfast every morning until 10.

Property is Adults only, but someone brought in some small children one evening that were loud and running around without supervision. Heron House is an older beautiful facility, but is lacking on friendly customer service. The employee at check-in seemed to lack customer service skills and very quickly showed us where morning coffee and breakfast was served then walked away. When we needed towels exchanged, he walked away without saying anything. I wasn't sure what to do, so I followed him to the laundry room where he handed me new towels. It seemed like I was bothering him for a towel exchange. No employees ever said anything to us, not good morning, do we need anything, or thank you for staying with us. Heron House property was nice and convenient, but we will stay somewhere else next time we visit Key West.

Large room (#43) ground level by the pool was clean and comfortable and location made it easy to get to everything. The 4 star for staff isn't a complaint at all, but meant to ensure those needing constant attention don't expect it here since the property is unstaffed in the evenings. Free breakfast was really good. Not a "country breakfast" but much more robust than the typical hotel continental breakfast. The guy who was at the front desk was very unprofessional. Terrible service. When checking in, he moved us to another room without checking our last name or registration number. We paid for a tropical suite, but got a tropical queen. The room was terrible, with a small dark shower, and there was no soap or shower gel. The bed and pillows were a separate story, it was impossible to sleep. The next day, the manager tried to shift all the blame to the expedia, I asked for a refund, and then I found out that we were checked in under a different last name. Yes, we were moved, but we had to wait, and the staff did it, simply shoving all our things into a suitcase without looking. When we saw that our things had been moved. Some of our things were left in the old room, where there were other people's things. Some of our things were missing. We complained about this to the administrator. But he didn't care. When we raised this issue at check-out. He brazenly lied to my face that we booked a tropical queen, and they did the upgrade. After I said that I have a receiver, he locked it. I said that at the very least he should have apologized to us for this. But apparently he considers himself a good worker. I won't recommend it. Or prepare all documents before check in, and make sure u got the right room

Heron House Key West was a cute B&B with great location to Duval St. Check-in was reason I did not give higher rating. Man at desk kept insisting only one room was paid & our friends still had balance due on theirs, even after I showed him receipt which showed both rooms were paid in full. Finally believed me, never apologized or even acted nice about it. There were two parties in line behind me waiting to check-in, one man went to porch outside to get my husband telling him the man at desk was giving me hard time! He then proceeded to take us to our rooms, didn’t even address the people in line that he’d be right back. Then he mixed our friends & our room keys up & we had to go back to desk to straighten that out, & of course he never apologized again. Man needs some customer service training! Everyone else at hotel was friendly.

I was allowed to check in early - about two and a half hours. Front desk guy that checked me in was awesome in every way, up to and including, walking me to my room while explaining the layout of the property. Included breakfast consisted of pancakes, waffles, muffins and coffee. The lady that was setting up the breakfast and views also exceptional! The pool was sparkling clean. I will stay here again if available when I come back!

We fell the front staff was rude. He seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and was not helpful at all. We asked for pillows because ours were hardy as rocks and we were rudely told they didn’t have any more. We asked if there were umbrellas for the pool area and he rudely answered back “No, insurance doesn’t allow us”. I asked him if they had sugar free creamer at the coffee bar outside and he rudely replied “No”. The rooms didn’t have coffee makers, the shampoo/conditioner weren’t labeled so we had no idea what it was. The water never got hot. The stairs are steep to the second level rooms so I caution anyone with bad knees or disabilities. The property needs some repair. There was wood rot on the stairs and other places around the property, the once beautiful water feature doesn’t work. I was surprised that there was no coffee in the rooms. Our stay at The Cabana Inn was much more accommodating and the staff was very friendly. I was hopeful that this would be a great place but I was very disappointed. Location was good.

This is a fantastic Inn. It is beautiful maintained and the grounds are stunning. Just a couple blocks from Duval St. so easy walking to all the excitement. Loved seeing Bob and Mary walking around and the cool gecko’s. Room was ice cold, clean and perfect for the two of us. We will definitely be returning.

The initial person at check-in oversold breakfast, it was just hard boiled egg, cereal, bread and yogurt. When things went wrong management was very responsive (hours without hot water, some rooms lost electricity) you felt safe, pool is a nice touch, over hospitality was GOOD
