Super quaint original 1950s beach motel. Room was bright and pretty with hand painted wall art. Very shabby chic beach style. Staff was super friendly and the bus to town very handy. Great beach for hammocks and birdwatching, pool to swim and an 8 minute drive to Smathers beach to swim in the ocean . Real laid back blast from the past

We loved the pool! We rented a car so we were fine but you can't plug in any electric vehicles here. Also we had a ground floor room right off the bay that was nice but if you are in a second floor room, there is no elevator so you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs.

Rooms are decent but there is no microwave, which i thought was a big deal. The plumbing seems old; poor water pressure for the toilet and shower. Also, if it's a resort, you'd think there would be a washer & dryer on the grounds, but there wasn't! Also, there is NO ICE MACHINE. You have to get your ice from the restaurant, which is not ideal to have to ask. Nice shuttle service to downtown and the grounds are kept very clean.

It's a lovely spot - not "downtown" but that was nice too! Shopping and restaurants very close. The shuttle was great, as were the staff and their own restaurant. We walked to the historic area many times too...it gets your steps in!

The accommodation was rather basic for the £300+ per night paid. No tea/coffee facilities or a phone. We did miss the phone as at 2am the smoke alarm started to chirp as the battery was running down. So a walk to reception was needed but no one was there and the door was locked. Eventually found the night reception guy who took the smoke detector away ( 2nd one that night apparently). At 3am the blue light over the patio started flashing and as the curtains weren’t a flush fit the flashing light was coming into the room? Visit reception again? No, I went out and unscrewed it . The green bath plug was rusty, there was a big rust spot where the enamel had come off, hairs (not ours) in the bath and not the cleanest bathroom floor in the corners. Breakfast was really bad for a £300+ room. Bread, ham, cheese, cold waffles, coffee and some fruit. To be honest we had 100% better free breakfasts at an £80 Quality Inn earlier in the holiday. On the positive side parking is ok, the grounds are nice. A shuttle service is no longer running ( the shuttle was one of the attractions to booking a room) so had to get 4 Ubers at $15 a go.

My brother and I stayed at Ibis Resort in Key West from Aug 6th–8th… or at least we tried to. When we arrived, the place looked cute and colorful. The man at the front desk was friendly, and we even bought some merch while checking in. Our first room had a nice view of the bay, and I took a few pictures before sitting on the bed to relax. Within minutes, I started feeling bites in my hair. I looked behind me, saw dozens of tiny fire ants crawling on the wall. When I moved my pillows, there were ants in the bed as well! I had welts forming on my head and arm, my brother had a few bites too. We had been in the room less than two hours. We went to the front desk, explained the situation, and were moved to a room in a different building. Unfortunately, the first thing we saw when we walked in was a live adult bed bug crawling on the sheets. We immediately left. At the desk again, we were told the general manager (Gina) would have to approve a full refund, but she wouldn’t be in until the next morning. We left, assuming she would understand that no one should be expected to stay in rooms with biting insects. Instead, she was unsympathetic and said because we “used” the room for two hours, they couldn’t rent it to someone else — as if they should rent it to anyone without addressing the infestation! Expedia gave us a partial refund, but I believe we are entitled to a full one. This was unacceptable — ants, bed bugs, bites, and no real concern from management.

Very small room, but served its purpose. The deck was very soft, someone is definitely going to fall through one day. No hot water, shower curtain was moldy, comforter was stained.. staff was nice but probably wouldn’t go back.

We have stayed at this resort twice and every time it had been a great experience. This time we were assigned to room 502 The room is dirty, hair everywhere and the tiniest shower ever made was just filthy. I have never been compelled to shower with flip flops on at any hotel but I definitely did here. We have loved staying here in the past. The vibes were always great and the rooms were cute and clean. Not this trip.

This place was pretty average all around, especially considering how well of a rating it is. Our first room had termites in it and those bugs were visible around the room. We asked to be moved to another room and that one was fine. The property just isn't in good condition all around with some things just really Being in rough shape. Being right on the water was nice and the location was ok, though there's not really a bad location in key west.

Really lovely room with beachy decor. Very clean but we did not get maid service even after asking for it. The patio was very nice but upon sitting out with snacks we were immediately visited by iguanas including one over 3 ft. Long. Pool was very nice. Enjoyed being able to sit at bar and have lunch by the pool. Overall a good experience.

Clean vintage motor inn. Very small bathrooms, one person only. The pool needs a good scrubbing. Nice views from bay rooms. Rooms need coffee makers as no not have to wander across the parking lot to restaurant to get some. Overall clean and friendly with easy parking.

There is no beach! The hammocks outside the rooms are not private. The rooms are very outdated- no microwaves, no closet, small bathrooms. The breakfast is not hot- it’s a continental breakfast. The restaurant onsite is really good! Parking is very tight! We will not stay here again! The property is away from all the action. For the price, we figure we may as well stay on Duval Street closer to where everything is.

The shower in the room we had was the size of a phone booth with really low water pressure. It was hard to even turn around without falling out of the shower. I don't think I have ever been in a worse shower. On top of that the room was just small and cramped. The bed was Ok, but it took up most of the room. The window blinds didn't keep out the light from the outside so we barely slept because the room was completely lit from the outside light which was a bright orange. I'm not sure if we just got a dud room for blinds, but it was awful. Even the boards on the walkway to the room were rickety and in need or replacement. The good...The air conditioning worked and it was easy enough to get to places from this location. Would not stay here again.

Easy access and only 10 mins from downtown. Loved the fact they have a shuttle to downtown. Makes it so much easier to not have to worry about parking! Rooms need a little updating but it was clean and bed was comfortable. We would stay there again.

Everything was fine, the staff friendly and polite, the place is very clean. Only any points for which it is not 5*. The shower is very small, and you can barely move. The curtain over the main window allows a view inside. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m., which is very late for guests.

The room was quite small and the bathroom was very small where there was hardly space to leave items such as toothbrushes etc. The shower is so tight that one can barely fit in it. The entrance to the room is tight where cars are parked too close to the room door. No microwave included in the room so one cannot warm up any leftovers or warmup any water to make any tea in the night. Breakfast was good that included ham, cheese, boiled eggs, bread, waffles, yogurt, coffee and tea.

Our experience at Ibis Resort was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely beautiful the grounds were immaculate, the ambiance was peaceful, and the entire property had a relaxing, welcoming vibe. What truly made our stay even more special was the exceptional service. A huge thank you to Barbara at the front desk! She greeted us with such genuine warmth and friendliness, and she made the check-in process seamless. Barbara went out of her way to even recommend some restaurants near by which helped being that It was my first time in Key West. Her kind demeanor and professionalism truly set the tone for our stay. We can't recommend Ibis Resort enough it’s a perfect getaway spot with stunning surroundings and outstanding staff. We’ll definitely be back!

We checked in recently and, while our initial room had some slight cleanliness issues, the front desk handled it professionally and promptly. Within minutes, they switched us to a new room, and we were very pleased with the accommodations. Special thanks to Claudia, who was such a pleasure to work with! She showed genuine empathy and made us feel truly valued as guests. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing, and we’re already planning to come back in the future. We loved everything about this resort. Rooms are adorable and very clean. Love the patios with the hammock. One of the best.perks is the short bus that continously brings you back and forth to downtown. Greg was THE best bus driver, had a great time. Will definitely be back

The lady working the front desk was great when we arrived. The room itself was nice. Our Air conditioner didn't work. We were only there 1 night but it was 80 in our room. We couldn't sleep it was so hot and muggy. We told a different lady at the desk and she wouldn't even look at us and said she would let maintenance know. The lady bartender at the pool was nice but was soo slow. There was 6 of us and only ones there and waited for a beer over 20 minutes. We were going to get another beer but couldnt get her attention. Again it was just us 6 there. So we left and went somewhere else to get a beer.

When first built this resort was likely amazing. It is pretty beat up, inside and outside the rooms. All needs an upgrade. Very pricey considering it is not walkable yo main activities and in poor condition. Staff was not very helpful and didn’t honor Expedia deal we all used to book and changed more fees.

Front desk was unwelcoming. The room was not clean, especially the bathroom. TV wasn’t working because of a lack of network. AC was not cooling and was as noisy as an old tractor. The property os poorly kept overall and not at all what it seems in the pics. I drove for 5 hrs so I dropped my bags in the room and headed out to eat. When I can back and finally got acquainted with the room I found all these issues. Front desk said the place was sold out and there was nothing they could do. I asked for an early check-out and the chance for a one-night refund out of my original 2 night stay. It was an absolute no, and no other options or ways to fix the issues with the room. The front desk lady couldn’t have been more unprofessional. Horrible experience overall. Wouldn’t recommend it.

This hotel met our expectations. Loved the decor, hammocks, restaurant,tortoises, birds, pool, activities and staff. We really enjoyed our stay!! Checking in we were greeted with a very nice and knowledgeable gentleman. He was so helpful in every way. Food was delicious. We rented wave runners and golf cart. We absolutely loved the wave runner tour and had THE best tour guide. He put our safety first above all. Was very educational and just really made it fun. I so can’t remember his name but we went on 5/10/25 at 1:30pm. He really deserves recognition as they are lucky to have him.

The only minor criticism of this wonderful hotel is also a plus. It’s located on the US1 so close to downtown Key West, the road noise is a little intrusive. Of course the owners can do nothing about that. Everything else is fabulous. A beautiful spot by the water with hammocks and palm trees - idyllic. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The seafood restaurant is brilliant and a complimentary continental breakfast a welcome bonus. Take the chance to experience the jet ski tour of the keys. White knuckle stuff but exhilarating. Overall a wonderful stay.

We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. We had a beautiful beach view in the back of the hotel room with chairs and hammocks to chill on. We loved interacting with the tortoises and parrots. The hotel is close (5-10' walk) to several groceries stores (Publix and Winn-Dixie) as well as restaurants (local and chain). Downsides are: non-swimmable beach, limited choice breakfast, and 2-mile distance from downtown where all the attractions are. If you enjoy a more peaceful and relaxing place, you gonna like it here.

Poorly managed hotel. Bar staff completely untrained. Ordered vodka/soda w/lime and was given a canned seltzer drink. The manhattan came in a martini glass and was just whiskey and sour mix because "they didn't have ingredients for it". The patio light at our room was out, we called 24 hour concierge and nobody answered. Tried a Florida lobster at their restaurant and it was gray, mushy and bad quality. Tried to return it and the waitress literally argued about how wrong I was, brought a manager and she argued about how wrong I was to return it. "This is how they are made" is what they said. They do have a shuttle service every hour to the main tourist area of Key West and the drivers were great. There is a beach at the hotel, but only to look at. You can't swim, its all brown plants and big coral rock bottom. Still, the beach was a nice view out to the water from far away.

This hotel wasn’t bad, but the seafood restaurant was closed for repairs and the continental breakfast was served around the pool area with not a lot of variety. The shuttle going to and bringing you back from different points around Key west was excellent!

The overall stay, property and staff were extremely good. We had a great time and they made sure we had everything we needed. However, the restaurant that’s attached did not treat us like we were staying at the resort. We attempted to have dinner twice there and we’re literally seated in the worst seats when there was vacancies! we were given a coupon for a free appetizer and shark feeding and we’re never able to use it because the staff there was never accommodating so I would not recommend the restaurant attached. Also, the breakfast that was part of the stay were absolutely horrible very limited options the same thing repetitively so again it’s attached to that restaurant that I would not recommend but the resort itself and the amenities were amazing. I just wish they would have a better relationship with the restaurant so the actual guests that are staying there that are paying get treated a little bit better and have better breakfast options since it’s included in your stay.

The restaurant was excellent, the beach was lovely. The pool area was great. The rooms could’ve been a bit more comfortable. Air conditioner was very loud. Bathroom had mold around the shower stall. Cleaning team didn’t get the sand off the floor when they cleaned

Ibis is a good location. The place was very clean and neat. The staff was friendly. The place is very dated, needs some modifications. The breakfast was subpar. Get a better breakfast at holiday inn. The pool and little beach area was clean and very nice. Bed was awful, to hard. Cheap pillows. No microwave or iron in the room. It could be a really nice place to stay, owners cutting corners on the wrong things.
