Great location. Good bakery down the street. Close to KW Express. Breakfast had no coffee. No fruit. The pool was under construction with no word it would be unavailable. The room had a lizard running around. The chalk around everything was in need of a professional. The dresser drawers wanted to pull the furniture over. The bathroom door didn’t close. Not all the a/c worked properly.

Location is great for Key West Express. We had two rooms. Old house they have made into a hotel. Bedroom/bathroom tile and chalking was not proper done so the creepy factor is high. One room had a moist skin lizard. Issue with fans and a/c. NO coffee at breakfast, WTH! Breakfast was bread items with sliced cheese and deli ham and hard boiled eggs. But having to wait for them to go to the store to get coffee, no. The decking near and around the pool was warped. They started taking it up at breakfast time. No notice that the pool would be unavailable. The pool itself was full of leaves. I wish I could add photos to this review.

We were charged a $50 ish resort fee for no resort amenities. We left at 8:10am on our last morning as there was no sign of employees and breakfast was supposed to start at 8am. The previous morning we took the ferry to Dry Tortugas so we didn't have breakfast that morning either so I can't speak to that amenity. Parking can be difficult, I didn't mind the 3 block walk but there's no unloading spot either so that's unfortunate. Staff isn't there after 5pm or apparently before 8:10am because we only saw 1 staff member who checked us in around 4:30pm. They did have a fruit bowl out early evening one night so we grabbed an apple and an orange and they also had water with watermelon in it in the lobby. The pool was dirty so we didn't use it. We did get "upgraded" to a king on the first floor but it didn't have a balcony or French doors. The room was clean, bed was very firm, and sheets were scratchy. It was fine though as the price was much less than the other places we were looking at and it is close to the ferry terminal.

The room was clean but very small. Staff at front desk not very personable. Pool was heated but felt like a bathtub, especially in Florida summer should be a place to cool off . Parking is on the street if you are lucky enough to get a spot. Convenient and safe location

Pool dirty. AC in our room did not work properly. Also no cups in our room for water. Very limited after 5 access to front desk staff if you need anything after hours there appears to be a 50$ charge for assistance. Also a 25$ daily resort fee for something we still cannot figure out that is charged to everyone automatically. No access to early am coffee- nothing in room to make coffee. Also very limited outlets in room.

Lovely, historic Key West guesthouse. No kids, small quiet pool, continental breakfast. Rooms small, but adequate. Could use a refresh of paint and sprucing up, but otherwise clean and quiet. 1block from the free Duvall Loop bus. About 20 -25 minute walk to Duvall St. Very safe. Concierge Roman very helpful and pleasant. I would not rent a car … parking is very bad. Not luxury, but I would recommend and I would return.

When we arrived, since it was after hours, there was a note stating that the pool was out of service which was a bummer. We were looking forward to using it and one of the main reason why we chose this hotel. The breakfast included wasn't really a buffet style, it was bagels, cheerios and coffee. The parking was horrible, there is no parking so you must look for street parking and you have to get lucky to find out. We spent about 30-40 minutes going in circles. Overall, stay was ok, room was clean and it was pretty quiet, but I would probably not book here again.

The bed was comfy. But the room (#4) had no light without allowing all to see in. The fan did not look like it had been cleaned in years. Coffee was not put out at 7am but rather at various times. The bathroom had stains, missing grout and the sink water trickled. The TV signal kept cutting out - 20min at a time. Took almost 5 mins to fill my water bottle. A lot of money for a very lacklustre room.

The staff or owners (not sure which) were amazing. We truly felt welcomed. The location is more residential so if you can’t or don’t want to walk far then rent bikes. If you don’t want to be woken up by the roosters bring ear plugs. I found the hotel and guests to be quiet in the morning but the chickens and roosters are plenty on KW and they will get you at the crack of dawn. The hotel could use some attention to detail. I’ve stayed in major metropolitan cities in very high end hotels for the price of the heron house and I found it lacking. Stained sheets. Throw them out! Once it’s stained it’s time to go! Lighting was rusty like water had poured thru at one point and that may have happened considering every light fixture in the place had only one bulb working. The toilet seat was chipped. The shower had hair in it from a previous guest. The bed wasn’t bad comfort wise but I think it was from the scratch and dent. It had a huge gash in the mattress right in your back so you kind of sunk in. Just overall could have done better. Rooms are steep in price for what you get. I don’t think I’d return. I did see inside some large rooms that looked nice for a quick peek anyway. Could have been my room but I wouldn’t recommend. If I’m paying luxury prices I expect more.

Stayed here in Tropical Suite Mo-Fri June-2025 The hotel is not maintained as it should. Lacking a lot of TLC. Pros: Nice quiet atmosphere. Not too many people. No kids. Breakfast included. Comfortable bed. Cons: Dirty stained sofa in suite The sink is loose and has come off the wall. Air conditioning is very loud and is at 60 decibels. Fan doesn’t work if light is turned off. Missing remote, There is only a refrigerator in the suite. No kettle or coffee machine.( Had to buy this myself) The pool area would need umbrellas for all the sunbeds. There is only one. Hot sun deck! A lot of debris in the pool. Didn’t see it get cleaned until Friday , the day we left. (You have to pay 25. Dollars per day as resort fee) The breakfast was lacking some days , and only half of the items were presented when a certain cleaning lady was working. WiFi didn’t work properly. Especially in the bedroom. Hard to get work done. Doors get stuck. Both front door and bathroom door. My partner got locked in. The worst thing was the cochroaches in the room. We had a hard time accepting this as normal even in we were in Florida. Value for money is low. Tip: Don’t pick the rooms on ground floor next to entrance as everyone will see right into your room.

For the price I was not impressed. Our room had broken blinds, there was a thick coat of dust on the curtains, and the mirror needs to be replaced. The sheets were also scratchy and the bed was lumpy. I would not stay here again, when the price rivals other hotels with way better rooms and breakfast.

Character property on the very edge of Old Town so a long walk to Duval. Building in need of attention throughout as it’s tired and dated. Bedroom was near reception so was noisy with guests checking in/out and using the area for conference calls etc. Housekeeping only visited the bedroom once to collect rubbish which may help to account for the cockroach in the bedroom. When we mentioned this to reception we were told you’ve got to expect that in the tropics. The pool was nice but again there were maintenance issues. Breakfast was pretty poor on quality and choice. There was also a lack of cutlery and crockery. Overall the stay was disappointing and not value for money. Felt like the owners had lost interest in the place. We would not return.

The staff was very welcoming and courteous. Roman is especially helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately, there isn't more that's good. The rooms are in desperate need of TLC. The headboard was almost completely detached from the bed frame - we were afraid we might collapse at any time. The blinds do not work, and are partially open, broken, and/or crooked. There is almost no lighting in the room. The bathroom is miniscule. While the towels and pillow cases were clean (smelled like detergent), they were stained with rust and mascara, respectively.

Property was good however our room was terrible. No place to put luggage or set things on. Especially in the bathroom. Room was clean but walls needed repair and painted. Grout was missing on tiled floors. Our bed was awful. Looks like they put a think foam topper on an old mattress and toilet was very low to floor making it next to impossible to use for older customers. Tv didn’t turn off.

we got a great deal for Key West. Nice clean little room. Could use some updating in the bath. A/C in awkward location to adjust. King bed was comfy. Roman was very nice. Breakfast was good but Harpoon Harrys the BEST food and just around the corner at the Seaport next to the garage.

Great stay, had a nice little pool to cool off. Clean had access to a nice shared balcony. Great location was able to walk to most everything. Parking on street is limited but that's most of key West. Only issue was window ac unit was cool right in front of it but didn't really cool off bedroom area unless you leave it on constantly but it did the job. Did have a ceiling fan to help circulate air.

Great A/C. Everything was adequate. The shampoo is so tiny I had to use both to wash my hair, but they did replenish daily. Room was pretty. Bathroom a bit dated but was fine. The only thing I wish it had was either coffee in the room or an earlier breakfast. We had a 7 am tour, but breakfast was 8:00-10. So I had no coffee to become the better version of myself. The office closes at 5 pm, not 7. They did let us check in late, leaving us our key in envelope. And they held our bags until our flight. I would stay here again. Expect “fine”, not luxury. Price very reasonable. Oh- breakfast had things for carb lovers and no carb eaters. (Deli ham, cheese). That was nice.

The room was pretty and clean. Roman was nice, though rarely present. The entry to our room was a set of French doors, and in the courtyard outside the doors were very bright decorative lights that stayed on all night. The curtains were very thin, and every time I opened my eyes I thought the sun was coming up, so I didn't sleep well. The most infuriating thing was that there was no hot water at all, not when I washed up before bed and not for a shower at 7:30 the next morning. The hot and cold water temperature was exactly the same. I would honestly not be surprised to find out there was no water heater at all. Between the lack of both light blocking curtains and hot water, this was the worst experience I have had in a hotel in my life, including some really cheap places i stayed in my younger days. Definitely not what I expected at this price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heron House Court. The manager, Roman, was an exceptional host. He promptly resolved a minor issue we had and was very helpful with recommendations throughout our visit. We will definitely stay at Heron House Court again!

Very unprofessional. No one answered call after 5pm. No one assists you check in after 5 if you forget the time or do not realize it. We waited for a long time and found our room ourself. If you have emergency issues and call them, they call back tomorrow. Very disappointed ☹️

The hotel claims you must call if you will arrive after 5pm. I called daily for 3 days ahead of my trip and was never able to reach a person, so we weren't able to stay because i got to town at 5:30pm. I called hotels.com to get a refund since paying $700 for a night in a hotel that I wasn't able to access or use is absurd. So far, that refund has not been processed a month later. I understand the 5pm policy due to short staff, but I cannot understand no one answering the dozens of calls I tried at both numbers associated with the location. Can't recommend unless you'll be in town well before 5, I guess.

We spent one night at this location during our road trip, and it was perfect! The location was great and quiet, allowing us to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly and communicative. Although we arrived a bit late, we had no trouble arranging a check-in after 5 PM. We will definitely be back and plan to stay longer next time!

We enjoyed our stay at Heron House Court. Roman, Patrick and Greg were wonderful hosts. Our room was nice and had everything we needed - hair dryer, shampoo, lotion, soap, fresh towels, comfy bed and TV. Breakfast was good, too: bagels, bread, croissants, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, coffee, milk and juice, and fruit. Nice court yard and pool. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Heron House Court very much. Our townhouse was spacious and comfy. The hotel is well-located near the free Duval Loop bus, restaurants, etc. Steve and Roman on the front desk were helpful with good advice and tips. Breakfast was OK, too.
