Nice spot to stay in mid keys. The bar area down on the dock made the stay with beautiful sunsets. Rooms and main building were nice & clean. Pool area needed so TLC, but would definitely stay again

Rooms were clean, property was very unkept and dirty. Pool was very dirty and has a black scum line around pool so thick that people actually scratched their names in it!! That’s Disgusting.this was our first and last time coming here not a resort more like a hotel. Pictures of property on web site don’t match up to actual property.

Not clear that the restaurant and bar was only open weekends. Disappointing. Also the jacuzzi was malfunctioning the whole time. Only two bikes where available to lend. Quality of sports equipment was pretty poor.

We stayed for 2 nights. When I was waiting to check in, the host was on the phone dealing with an upset guest who was attempting to ABORT their reservation a short time after they arrived. I should have read the tea leaves!! Instead I kept an open mind and chalked that down to a fussy guest and checked in. To describe the Banana Bay in one word, it would be lazy. Room: excellent Pool: broken umbrella, broken pergola shades, water was far too hot and full of bugs and generally dirty. Pool was under construction but that doesn’t explain the pool water quality and filth. Pool bar was not open. Construction work being performed was 3rd rate and let’s just say I’d imagine they went with the cheapest quote on that tender Dock bar: not open, bartender had to leave and no back up. Ice machine : broken Breakfast: such a complete joke! Two drunk imbeciles would put together a better spread. No cereal, no fruit, all the cups were individually wrapped for some reason. Read slices were wrapped in pairs??? It would kill your appetite (and maybe that’s the idea). Only thing this place excelled at was charging big for a terrible overall experience. Will never return.

Room was completely renovated and nice. In wall air conditioner was very loud but helped drown out the loud traffic on the highway right outside or room. The breakfast was not so great but better than nothing. Coffee was good. Staff was very friendly. The grounds haven't been kept up very well. The hot tub was not useable. There isn't food at the bar and the bar isn't much! It was OK overall.

Pretty Nice property overall, Kids enjoyed the heated pool and the tennis/pickleball courts. The Free Breakfast could really use an improvement. Many fellow residents were complaining/joking about the Free Breakfast. Beer and wine bar at the pier had wonderful staff and attitude. we enjoyed our stay, and it is within driving proximity of many activities. Enjoyed the overall atmosphere of residents and renters.

We thought it would be better. The photos are all real, but they must have been taken some time ago and are very well staged. We stayed in the building closer to the road. The building smelled nice and our room was nicely decorated, clean looking, and the bed was comfortable (the saving grace for me). The staff all seemed nice and helpful but it seemed like they are very short staffed and that money is not being invested into the resort. The pool deck was dirty and had leaves all over it. The breakfast was fine—2 boxes of yogurt, coffee, frozen waffles, frozen eggs (not as horrible as they sound) but they ran out of even this food mid-week and we got only waffles and yogurt. The trash cans were overflowing at breakfast and the hall floor outside the room was not vacuumed once while there. The tiki bar at the pool was closed the entire time and the bar by the marina was open only on the weekend. The tennis court looks beautiful until you get close and see it’s cracked and dirty. The place has a ton of potential, but looks tired. If you’re using this as a place to sleep only, then it’s fine. If you’re looking for a resort to stay at and enjoy during the day, you might want to consider somewhere else.

I liked the cleanliness of the building and of our room. It appears to have been recently remodeled and refurnished in beautiful blues and white. The grounds were also nice, including a pool area, park, and marina. Good place on the water!

The room was updated and clean for the most part. Downhill from there. The worst kept pool of any hotel that I have ever stayed at. I would not get into hot tub. Tiles broken off with bare concrete and very cloudy water. The “boxed” breakfast was ok once but after that it was terrible. We made the best of a bad situation for 3 of the 4 nights but could not take it anymore and left the Keys one day early. That says a lot in itself. Upon notifying of early departure desk staff was nonchalant as if they had heard all this before. They charged me 75$ for late check out before 2pm. I just had to turn and leave. I had enough. DO NOT stay here. It was probably very nice once and would have potential again with monetary investment and proper management

Roaches and possibly bed bugs.. I took pictures and gave them the dead bugs. The refunded me the resort fee only.Only stayed 2 nights, never again!! I’m very upset and still waiting for them to get back to me. I hate to leave a bad review but this is serious.

The room was cute and bed was comfortable but the whole place smelled of mold. The moldy lampshades were filled with mold. I had already booked it for a few days, so I went to the grocery store and bought paper towels and microban cleaner and deep cleaned the room. The air conditioner just couldn't keep up with the humidity

It’s a super convenient hotel. The rooms are clean and recently renovated. The bed is insanely comfortable. The location is perfect and, while the property itself isn’t wow, it’s nice and has great vibes. For the price, I’d recommend it to anyone spending a few nights in Marathon and planning to visit Sombrero Beach.

Decor was nice; crisp blue and white. Bedside lamp did not work. Someone didn't know how the toilet paper holder worked, so it was broken. Cross bar fell off along with toilet paper roll. Balcony was unusable as it smelled like swamp. Decor in bathroom was wierd.

The property is lovely and you can bring your dog. It is a perfect place for the kids to run around safely and the adults have plenty of space too. If you can —ask for a room that does not directly face the road. It is pretty noisy all night long.

We were charged an additional $59 a night for resort fees we had to keep asking about clean towels , water and our room was not serviced 3 days of our stay. Some employees did not speak or understand English so it make it difficult to communication asking for water or towels

They were short staffed, with nobody at the front desk at the time of check in/check out. The property and area was run down, with wood rot and rust everywhere. The free continental breakfast came in a brown box and all the food inside it was frozen and unable to be eaten. I had Read that there was a tiki bar open certain hours at the pool, but there was nobody there the entire weekend. Our room also had a musty smell to it that was coming from under our sink.

The staff: Very kind and courteous. Attempted to help with all of the complaints. The first two days we had no housekeeping. I went to registration to get clean towels and coffee. But I only saw one housekeeper the entire stay. One! The room: it was clean when we arrived and the beds are very comfortable. The property: The outside area could use a little attention picking up wooden pallets and giving the landscaping some attention. They should not advertise a pool bar or seaside bar because they were both closed. The first night the seaside bar was open but the last three nights it was closed. They lost a lot of business because many people were walking out to it. Anyway, basically this place is operating with practically no staff. Those who are there try hard to be helpful but they are extremely understaffed. This could be a really nice place! Also, the breakfast is a box of a bagel, muffin, and juice. They have one little coffee maker that was always brewing because it could not keep up the how many people needed coffee. We drove to get coffee every morning. And, make sure you look at the hidden resort fee!

Christopher the GM was amazing. He definetly knows customer service. Staff on the premise are so helpful and Amazing. Eric our bartender was fun and enjoyable to talk with. And I want to give a big Shout Out to the maintenance gentleman. I apologize I never got your name. Thank you for helping a girl with a bad ankle get back to her room to grab stuff before the sunset. Your beautiful place and staff made our vacation amazing.

This is a great weekend getaway if you live in S Florida. We went to paddleboard right off the dock area. It is a beautiful waterfront area to explore. Sunsets are amazing there.

Property is fairly well maintained and generally clean. This is a roadside small hotel, so not really a resort. Pool is nice and waterfront/marina is a nice place to go have a drink. I wouldn't chose this if I was looking for a family vaca hotel, but if you are down to fish or just explore the area, it's a decent choice.

The only negative thing was after booking the room we found out there was a $50 per day resort fee. It included a basic breakfast, 2 bottles of water each day and I think a couple of other things. Only received 2 bottles of water for our complete stay, also we had to ask for coffee in our room.

The balcony view was restricted by 2 big trees in front of it. Impossible to sit on the balcony due to the stench from the marina. The bar was never open during the stay. The breakfast was horrible. Had to go out to eat in the morning. Charge a parking fee $20.00 per night on top of the fees by the hotel. If I had never stayed at the hotel. WIFI very slow. The room was nice. We will never stay there again.

start from the free breakfast - it was boxed with the frozen items, the third morning the half of the breakfast box items were missing, the area looks very unkept, there is no functioning bar or restaurant in the area. We had to pay a resort fee per day even though there was nothing to resemble a resort. Rooms were clean and well airconditioned. Also, there was a pool in nice size, no towel service by the pool.

The room was clean, comfortable bed & pillows. Not enough towels for 2 people. Trying to get housekeepers to understand what we needed was difficult (no English). Breakfast was much to be desired…..warm eggs and sausage. No waffle maker, only waffles to toast. No muffins or pastries! Served from 8-10 ONLY. Hard to get an early start, when it starts so late. Not enough tables for all the guests. ALSO, BEWARE OF RESORT FEE PER DAY!! It was stated in the booking, BUT, we (wrongly) thought it was included in our per day price. We had to pay $50 per day when we arrived. AND, we never got to enjoy the outdoor bar, because it is open W-Sat 5-10. Our stay was Sun- Wed. The WiFi was excellent! Plenty of free parking.
