We liked the fact that the property has its own boat ramp and available docks for rent. What we didnt like, although staff tries hard to be receptive to guests, the property is in desperate need of repairs. Our air conditioner broke down completely, they had to buy a portable unit for our living room, and install another they had in our bedroom barely kept up and noisy but at least we had some relief. The docks are falling completely apart, one was totally unusable, our tv didnt work, never came on. Alot of chickens and roosters loose running around, and wake you up. Walls in bathrooms are very thin, you can hear "everything" in neighboring room! All kinds of silly rules, yet when you bring these things up, that are wrong with the place, seems like rules dont apply to them, just you! ALL ice machines were broken, no ice at all, on site...again not trying to say staff didnt try, they tried their best, but the ownership is to blame, everything is in need of serious repair.

It was nice to have a screen porch. The pool is nice. There were manatees near the dock, and we ate our breakfast with the chickens.

Room was clean and bright. Chickens wandering around are cute. But there is no ice machine—they sell ice in the lobby for $3 a bag. It’s just me—what do I want with 6lbs of ice?

Nice motel style resort with pool. Parking for your vehicle outside your room. Basic clean accommodations for a reasonable price about an hours drive to Key West. Kitchenettes are available for a little more money. Downside was a rooster crowing in the morning otherwise good value for your money

Nice stay. Very simple accommodations. Close to everything, but then again, it's Marathon Key. Two complaints, the pull-out sofabed was VERY uncomfortable, as most of them are and the pool was overly chlorinated, which made it uncomfortable for the kids to swim in.

Exceeded my expectations. We were given a complimentary upgrade to premium category with screened lanai and full kitchenette with amenities. Complimentary coffee hut on water. Very clean and well located. Had a little boat dock and fish cleaning stations. Every staff I encountered was very friendly. Pool area was clean and relaxing. Also dogs are allowed. We left a beach towel and returned an hour later and the maid had it nicely folded in the room for us. The maid waved to us as we retrieved it and drove away. I am looking forward to going back. Highly recommend for a decent lower priced option that will not disappoint. Book higher than standard room for a better experience in accommodations. Very cute small property.

Great location South of the airport. Small but well maintained outdoor pool. Boat launch and dock/slips available for tenants. Super friendly staff.

The area was beautiful and staff was friendly. The only downside is our room needed some fixing. There were holes on the tile and yellow mildew all over the floor and baseboards. The apartments looked a lot better.

We got room 127.The bed linen was dirty, air condition dirty , bathroom dirty and the door of rhe bathroom was broken, the curtains were broken and dirty. We were sorry that we never come back and dont recomend at least dont take room 127.

We killed roaches and ghost ants. Our first evening we killed 8 roaches in kitchenette and hundreds of ghost ants in bathroom. Bathroom has no exhaust and becomes a sauna when you close door. we went out to purchase roach and ant killer just to make us feel better, Also wiped stove. counters and sink and shower with bleach water.

Our room was not very clean, dirt on walls and under bathroom door and baseboards. Bed was clean. Rooster started at around 4:00 am. Parking lot on both sides of room with light and noise all night. Convenient location. Highlight was seeing a manatee very sweet.

My room at this So-Called “Resort”, had a 2 foot long crack in the ceiling, water damaged nightstand with mold, Rust all over the refrigerator, mildew and muck over the shower. The room was gross enough to cause me to leave 5 hours after had checked in for a two day Memorial Day weekend trip. The only good thing is that they refunded my money. However, Kingsail “Resort” ruined my weekend getaway.

Dirty! needs painting. Mold in AC unit visible. Shower needed to be cleaned. Blinds on the windows were dirty and one blind had a broken slot which we had to cover window with paper for privacy. Shower pressure was next to nothing. I have long hair and would not have been able to get the shampoo rinsed out if I had tried, that's how bad the pressure was. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!

We, my teenage granddaughters and me, liked our room, but the beds were squeaky thogh comfortable. The bathroom sink was missing a drain cover and the door needs to be replaced. We didn't have a dresser in our particular room. Parking was there. We had a room right on the lagoon with a lanier, loved it. We saw lots of pelicans and a mom and baby manatee. The fresh coffee every morning was nice. The pool and view from it was pretty. I loved where we were at. The front desk ladies were all nice. We had an issue with our air conditioner and the matainence guy was there to fix it in minutes. I also liked the location, central to where we wanted to go. On a sode note, don't miss Sombrero beach! Only 5 minutes away. Yes, i would stay again.

Kingsail is the classic economy motel for a Leys trip. We had room 120 which did have some questionable blinds in the room, particularly the one directly next to the door. You could essentially see into the room which was less than ideal. Served its purpose, but that purpose being solely just a place to land our heads during a very difficult trip through the keys (Homestead wildfire) which had nothing to do with the hotel. So fairly, it’s a place to rest your head on the economy scale. Clean rooms.

Room was clean but very small and difficult to sleep with 2 windows that only had blinds, no curtains and there is bright lights shinning through. Also our car had to be parked where we couldn't see it, which I guess depends on the unit you get. We had unit 122 and the toilet was loose and shower handle very loose with poor function, low water pressure. However property was good . I love the roosters all around loose in the keys. If your not bothered by light shine in windows then you will be ok to get by but for me I did not rest at all. They do have hot coffee at 7:30am but no breakfast so we went to Wendy's down the road.

Definitely outdated. No fan in the bathroom. Room with single king bed has no spot to put clothes or anything it’s only a bed 2 night stands and a table with 2 chairs. Bathroom was little run down. No blackout curtains.

The staff, especially the front desk, were great! We booked an extra night after original booking but there was only availability for a different type of room. The front desk kindly did their best to make the transition smooth to the other room on night two since they were sold out and cold not offer the same type of room. Our first room did not give us a great impression at all (room 122). It desperately needs painted and had paint patches all over the walls. The nightstand looked dirty but needed painted. The bathroom could use a little extra scrubbing on the dirt build up. Our second room made up for it and gave us hope that Kingsail is aware of making improvements. We will return, but will request a room that "feels" cleaner with updated paint and less patchiness. Pool and lagoon were quite enjoyable as well!

place - our room on the waterfront was basic but very nice and great location. Our welcome when we arrived early and asked to leave our bags there while we explored - was very poor. The receptionist was clearly not feeling well and was totally unwelcoming to the point of rudeness! The lady who replaced her when we came back to check in was lovely, but if we had not paid up front, we would not have stayed there based on our lack of welcome and friendliness

This was our 2nd trip to the Keys and we liked the Marathon location (on the water!). Our room was very spacious except for a very tiny bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. Our only "complaint" was roosters crowing throughout the night and waking us up multiple times. Seems the wild chickens are becoming more prevalent here and probably not much to do about it unless you stay in a high rise.

We really enjoyed the cost-effectiveness of this property compared to other places in the area. It felt like a sweet locally owned place that offered a clean, well-maintained environment and spacious rooms. We loved that it was situated right in the middle of the Florida Keys giving us easy access to all the islands. We also loved that it had its own marina and allowed free access to the kayaks!
