Holiday Inn Winter Haven by IHG

I so enjoyed my stay here. The gals at check-in, housekeeping and the lady in the bar were wonderful. This will be my hotel of choice when I’m in winter haven, FL.

Staff was friendly and room was clean

I booked for one night while attending a volleyball tournament next door. We traveled with three girls (2 @ 17yrs & 10-month infant). We arrived 90 min early from check-in hoping to drop off our stuff before the start of the tournament, but the room was not ready. I came back at check-in (3:00), unloaded our luggage onto a cart and carried in the baby in. I was told again the room was still not ready and the clerk contacted housekeeping to get an estimate. She relayed that it would be 15-20 minutes. I said that is fine and I would wait with our stuff and a fussy baby. 45 minutes later I was given a keycard and told the room was ready. I headed up with baby and bags to find the room was NOT ready with it still being prepped. I returned to the front desk with stuff and baby asking how much longer it would be. The clerk looked at me like I was an idiot and told me, "I don't know, I was told it was ready." Her attitude degraded more when I asked if I could be comp'ed for my trouble with 4 free breakfasts for the following morning (buffet was NOT free). I was told she would give us 2. She then indicated the situation was not her fault and she had no control over the previous occupant who desired a late-check-out. I felt like I was being put in my place for doing something wrong. There was no apology or an offer to make it right, just excuses and blame passing. I wasn't treated with respect and could not wait to leave the following morning. I will not stay at this location again.

The room very clean and beautiful. The staff very nice

I came to winter haven for a family members gender reveal party. I drove 3 1/2 hours from NFL to get to it. When it was over and we got to the Hotel it was not inviting. Staff was barely civil and took a long time checking me it. The room was beyond awful. The seat was left up in the bathroom and old pee was all over the inside rim edge. I wish I was kidding. My husband was tired and so was my kiddo and asked me to over look it. The room smelled like burnt hair and had a slight odor I cannot place. I knew we should have requested another room but I kept trying to let it go and relax. But sm was wrong. The sink wouldn’t drain properly, after I washed my face the water just sat there. I were the tubal mascara, and all of those black particles just sat there in that water, literally so gross. Waited to right before bed to brush our teeth, same issue. The room looked AI generated 3 pictures all clumped together behind a lamp and the rest of the walls all blank. It was weird and I just hated the whole experience.
