Quality Inn at Collins Road - Cedar Rapids

The parking is almost non-existent. Had to park in some empty lot across the street. We had to maneuver the luggage cart to the other parking area. The grounds were filled with weeds everywhere.

Side doors never locked anyone could come in not a guest. Doors and keys for them failed every time for use never allowing us in without front desk interaction. Pain splatters all around entry of room can’t tell what was happening walls were coated with crusty snot and other substances

The room I was assigned had no air conditioning. I called the front desk and was told that there was nothing that could be done, I was told no other room was available until the next day. I asked if a credit would be given since I could not sleep in 100 degree room, and was told that there’s nothing that they can do for me! I had to go to my family’s house to get some sleep, so I didn’t even sleep in the hotel on Friday, July 21st. I was assigned a different room on the 2nd night, but never received anything for my troubles. I find it very unacceptable and will not be staying at this hotel anymore. In addition to my room problems, the gym in the hotel was not open for customer use!

The number one issue was there was no elevator.....

The property was not secure. Side door opened without key card. Checkin person was rude and unfriendly. There was pet food on the floor in our room (we did not bring a pet). Kleenex box was empty. Halls and stairways appeared to have not been vacuumed for several weeks.

Beds were comfortable, pillows however could use upgrading. The website lists buffet breakfast, however that was misleading as it was a continental breakfast with bagels, cereal, yogurt or waffles. There is no elevator which created issues for my elderly mother. However was sufficient for a short weekend stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late due to weather conditions, and they held the room for us. When we arrived, however, is when we found out that the facility had no elevator or ramps. We were on the second floor. While we do not need accessibility, we did have a rather heavy suitcase to drag up the stairs. This information needs to be on their website. I am concerned for those who make a reservation and DO need accessibility options. No elevator. No ramps. But two floors. Also when we arrived, I had to ask the front desk for toilet paper in the room. They gladly gave it to me. I just think it odd that housekeeping had not added toilet paper to the room when the roll was clearly down to the last bit.

Room smelled like mold or mildew. Double billed my card. The side doors don't lock and anyone can walk in off the street. Safety hazard.

Staff were rude and dismissive when I asked for help. The side door to the building was broken, and by the second night my own door stopped locking, which was extremely unsafe. On top of all this, they still charged a $100 deposit. I only stayed because I was in town dropping my son at college and couldn’t afford to move. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, the WiFi did not work!!!!

We left - the bathroom had not been cleaned from the previous guests, the room smelled like smoke. Disgusting and unacceptable.

Everything was very clean, and smelled nice (not like cleaner). It was quiet, and the air temp was great. Comfortable beds. We needed assistance from the front desk, about a canceled reservation, and she went above and beyond the call of duty to help us get things cleared up.

Clean rooms

Suppose to be a smoke free room , but the room smelled like a smoker had smoked in the room .( if you’re a non smoker you know instantly) The room was not cleaned very well ,with absolutely no detail cleaning at all. Staff was friendly and kind.

Upon entering room, the toilet still had urine and a cigarette butt floating in it. The room reeked of smoke. The refrigerator was full of black mold and the room was full of flies. The tub didn't drain and was full of water. All of the table and counter tops were sticky. The linens were full of stains.

Room and cafeteria were clean. Staff was nice. Only negative was that the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off, and the shower water had some temperature fluctuation. Overall, a good budget hotel.

Fridge still had food from prior occupant, bathroom had garbage on the floor. Overall just seemed dirty.

Staff was incredible although the room are kind of unclean. There was dead skin on the toilets upon arrival so I had to sit on towels the entire stay. I’m allergic to centipedes and found several. I eventually replaced into a new room which was 10x better. Staff is amazing and kind

A little dated and abused but the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. Great for our family of 4 adults to stay one night while seeing a concert in Cedar Rapids.

Small, outdated rooms. Just ok I guess. OK to stay a night in, & way overpriced!!

Food options were alright and the beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds. Great choice!

While the room was older and could use some repair and renovation, it was clean, had really comfortable beds, had great water pressure, and friendly and helpful staff.

The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Our room was comfortable and the bed was wonderful. Pleasantly surprised for the rate. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Plenty of parking.

Good Property. Room looked nice with a working TV (always a plus). Location was tucked away on the outside of town so it was nice and quiet. Good hotel overall to stay for one or two nights :) Good price too. Nitpicks: We needed to leave somewhat early in the morning and was told breakfast was at 6. Ended up being 7 for weekend hours :(. Left and bought breakfast instead. Otherwise it seemed like the had a good selection from photos.

Upon arrival, there was no attendant at the desk. There was another couple waiting at the desk. He called the hotel phone and no one answered after many many many rings. Finally after a 10 to 15 minute total absence from the front desk, the attendant showed up. This is not how you run a hotel.

The information on both Travelocity and the company’s website stated reservations could be made for anyone at least 18yrs old. I made the reservations for my daughter and her friend, who are both 18. When they checked in, the woman working told them they couldn’t check in because they were not 21 yrs old. They showed her the reservation and she still refused. They left and came back 3 times trying to show the woman the reservation that clearly stated 18yrs was the minimum age. Finally I tried calling and, of course, the woman didn’t answer - 5 different phone calls. My daughter had to go back in - with me on speaker phone - to speak to the woman. I explained why we chose this hotel (18yr old minimum age for check in) and how I were would never have let my daughter on this trip if I had known she’d be turned away. The woman was rude, said it’s their policy and “always has been” and stated there’s nothing she can do about it. We went back and forth, and she finally agreed to contact her general manager. Long story short, they gave the girls their room. Awful experience though and one that should’ve been handled MUCH differently. The woman as rude and argumentative and only looked to help us when she felt like we weren’t going to settle for her BS answers. Horrible customer service experience all the way around.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and especially the room. Staff was extra friendly and eager to help whenever needed.

No one was at the front desk when checking out. Rang the bell multiple times to notify someone (as instructed) with no response. I had to go to the breakfast area to get them.

Check-in clerk was rude and an ass

When we arrived, there was no one at the desk. There was a couple in front of us and they had been waiting. They reported that there had been someone there who had then left. They had been waiting at least 10 minutes for someone to return and take care of a key issue that they had and we had to wait even longer just to get checked in. That is not the way you want to end long day of travel. And if hospitality is one of the hotels values, then those who are at the front desk ought to exhibit, some evidence of being hospitable. No word of greeting upon arrivals and no word of farewell upon departure.

Staff was really pleasant and professional. Property was very neat, clean, and enjoyable. Will DEFINITELY be considering this hotel when returning to Cedar Rapids!

The hotel was convenient to the restaurant we wanted to visit and was easily access able to the interstate.

I liked the breakfast options in the am. I liked that the place felt clean and safe. I know they allowed pets but you never knew because they were quiet and respectful.

Hotel is a little older, no frills, but was clean and inexpensive. Breakfast was better than expected. Staff was friendly. In a safe area with plenty of food options nearby.

Been here twice now. Love this hotel even more now that I stayed within the Cedar Rapids area. Great food and brewery’s nearby the hotel. Maybe not *right next door but close enough. Good breakfast. Good water pressure in the shower. Clean rooms. Definitely coming back.

Breakfast was terrible. When asking the front desk if they were going to replenish any of the items that were out they stated no. No breakfast sandwiches, no orange juice, no bagels….they don’t care at all about the breakfast.

The accessible shower head had dangerously hot water or almost nothing. Sink drain was plugged up. Very poor breakfast--stale pastries, warm cartons of milk.
