My stay at the Comfort Suites Fairview Heights–St. Louis was horrible. The hotel is extremely outdated, poorly maintained, and smells terrible the moment you walk inside. The online photos are misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. The carpets, walls, furniture, and elevator all looked worn down and dirty. The indoor pool looked unclean, and I was locked out of my room twice because my key card stopped working. The worst part? I was bitten by what appeared to be bed bugs. When I reported it, the front desk acted unconcerned and the manager promised reimbursement that I never received. Afterward, they stopped responding completely.

The evening check-in was pleasant and quick. Our room was clean but needs to be updated. Bed and sofa/sofa bed were not comfortable at all. We only stayed one night. We went down next morning for breakfast but on our way up, our key card was deactivated as was another family members. We went down and morning rep was NOT very pleasant at all. We told her card was deactivated and she just asked for the card. Did not ask our names to confirm or anything. When we actually checked out she just said to drop key card in basket. I had to ask for a receipt and didn't get a thank you. Plenty choices for meals.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They not only charged for early checkin but the room smelled like wet dog and wasn't really clean. Couldn't get any extra pillows for my bad back and they were very rude when we asked for anything.

When we arrived there was no staff to check us in. We waited over 25 minutes ringing the bell. Attempted to call the number to the hotel and it went straight to voicemail. Finally a girl came out of one of the rooms nearby looking like she just woke up to check us in. No apologies. Then we make it to the room. Reason we had booked this was because of the 2 queens and a pull out. The pull out was a joke! The mattress on it was as thick as cardboard so if you like bars in your back then you’re in luck. Also no linen for the pull out so I had to go down and talk to our sleepy lobby attendant. Don’t expect your room to be made up during the stay. Also the air is random in the room where it will blast cold air about once an hour. Made the mistake of staying here and if it were any longer I would’ve changed hotels.

Came in and the room was dusty. We had 5 people staying in the sweet, which they asked us about at the front desk. The room didn’t have any pillows or sheets for the pull out sofa. We attempted to call the front desk, but the phone was not operational. We had to go down to the front desk to get sheets, but were told there were no pillows available. Then we turned on the tv, a Hi-Sense Roku television with an LG tv remote. Needless to say, the remote didn’t work. That caused trip two to the front desk since the phone didn’t work. They gave us a generic Roku remote that, upon returning to the room didn’t work. Trigger trip 3 to the front desk where we received an explanation that they don’t have Hisense televisions in the rooms and don’t have a remote. They finally called housekeeping, which once I reached the room had just dropped off another remote. Thankfully that one worked, because they left before checking if it worked or not.
