La Quinta by Wyndham O'Fallon, IL - St. Louis

The pool is shut down by IDPH. No notice to this prior to walking into the hotel. The power went out the night we stayed with no reason behind it. The hotel charged an extra $100 (does not show this charge anywhere prior to check in but attempted to bill for it hours before we checked in) and did not return the deposit like promised. Waffle machine was broken both days and breakfast consisted of juice and toast.

Overall the hotel looked dirty. From a cigarette butt in the middle of the vestibule to bits of paper on floor, you could tell no one vacuumed in a while. Stains on carpet, green pool water, overall shabby appearance, front desk clerk who would rather hang on her phone rather than police the trash in front of her. Would not recommend to anyone.

We are traveling across country on a budget so for the price this was an excellent stay. Comfortable bed, real shower. Here are some issues, if mitigated, would have uped my review to 4. Hallway carpet and room carpet need a good cleaning. Overhead light in room was burned out,, refrigerator cabinet door was damaged, no hair dryer, icemaker 2nd floor was out of commission. Overall noise level from room above and hallway was noticeable. It's the little things that make to stars! Breakfast area was in really good condition and food plentifyl. The luggage carts we stable and easy to manage.

To start, the hotels wifi was not working. When I asked about it I was told “it was down and would be up in an hour” well it never did end up working during our entire stay. The pool was probably the grossest looking pool we have ever seen. We could not let our children swim in it. The water was a green hue, the water was stagnant and had floating patches in it. You could barely see the bottom of the pool and what you could see was filthy. When I asked if the pool was open they said yes. There is no way that pool is being swam in. The room smelt like stale cigarettes. The secondary lock for the door was broken off. The sheets and mattresses had stains The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed The hotel is located next to an extended stay hotel so there was constant traffic of people in the parking lot we did not feel very safe having our car there.

The location is great, and the beds were softer than many places. The buildings side access doors did not work, and I think they do that to control access. Hard to imagine both doors being broken at the same time. The coffee pot in 206 did not work and you could not get a cup in the lobby until exactly 6am. We left without it.

I booked a king bed. Upon checking in and getting my room it was 2 queens. I asked for a refund of the difference. They would not refund me the difference since I booked through a third party. The lobby floor and elevator floor were sticky the entire time of m stay. The pool was green and appeared moldy on the bottom. The hallways reeked of marijuana smoke. The room itself had stains on the linens and gum stuck to the headboard.

Needs upgrade. Elevator has not been inspected since I don't know when.

Hotel was dirty and unkept. Staff attention was poor. Desk clerk at check in was hard to understand. Room was dirty with areas tgat appeared to not have been cleaned in weeks or months. Food crumbs found in tv dresser shelves and areas by bathroom sink cabinet. Areas arou d the room looked unvacuumed. Splatter of something was on doors, cabinets, and ceilings. Cabinet for room fridge was broken, shelving trim was broken, coffee pot was broken. The kids did not want to swim in the green pool even if the co struction workers werent drinking and leaving a bunch of beer cans on patio with the door held open. Breakfast area was not well kept or stocked. We decided to not try and eat there tge second morning.

Pool wasnt working

I decided to book stay at LaQuinta Inn and Suites based on prior experience with the Wyndham brand and LaQuinta properties. In over 30 years of traveling and staying at hotels domestically and internationally, I have never had such a terrible experience warranting an early departure. I booked two rooms for a family of five. One room was FILTHY. There were items in trash from previous guest. The toilet was disgusting and covered in urine. There were strands of hair in the shower, on the floors, in the sink, on the walls, and yes, even on the bed linen. The second room was freezing cold. The thermostat didn’t work. I went to pick up the room phone to call, and it didn’t work. Not a dial tone or anytime. What if there was an emergency?!?! There was no hair dryer and when requested, it never came. Hoping a trip to the pool would be better, we were met with a freezing cold space, with cold and dirty water, and the pool floor was in need of a scrubbing. Breakfast was basic, but the milk was bad. There aren’t cartons of milk, and whatever was in the pitcher tasted spoiled. Seeing one stink bug in the bedroom didn’t cause panic. Seeing two more later deeply disturbed my daughter, so she was scared to go to sleep and wanted to leave right away. I calmed her and told her we’d leave the following day. Thinking all was calm, I encountered multiple roaches throughout the night during trips to the restroom and at the sink to wash hands. Immediate departure at that point!

Sheets, pillows, floors, and chair all had stains. Overall hotel was very unkept.

Disgusting the room the bed sheets and pillow cases had stains the bathroom still had hair on the floor and in the shower. Just know the 20% off is for a reason

Bed sheets were dirty and stained. Shower was filthy. Theres was rose pedals on the floor from someone elses previous stay

Room was so dirty. Somebody’s clothes still in the room. Left over food was still in the refrigerator. Dead bug. Not clean sheets Not vacuum the floor , animal’s hair on carpet. I was charged room twice. End up just get out from hotel same arrive day.(night) Get refund was take more then 2weeks. Lady at the counter, she wasn’t processing to refund. So I have to Physically visit again to get refunded. It was bad experienced.

This is one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve stayed in in a long time. It didn’t look like the floors had been swept, mopped, or vacuumed in weeks. The furniture was in bad shape, damaged, and threadbare. However, I wanted a cheap nights sleep, and that’s what I got. The bed was comfortable, and the AC worked.

Filthy and dated rooms. Blood on sheets, mold in bathroom shower, used bandages on black out curtains. AVOID THIS LOCATION

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was filthy dirty! We had 6 rooms for a sports team and every one was disgusting. Blood stained sheets, dirty bathrooms, mold in refrigerator, dirty curtains etc.

I do not think anyone employed here knows how to clean! This was the worst hotel i have stayed in! Hotels have been smoke free for I dont know how many years yet all blankets had so many cigarette burns! I changed the sheets my self. I can not believe they have not been shut down!

Room was dirty , Lady Bugs , Stink Bugs everywhere , spider webs , bedding was dirty , towels not clean. Don’t waste your money.

Staff was friendly. We had to have our room changed as soon as we got there. The curtains were filthy and had mold all over them. The second room was the same, curtains all dirty and mold on them. There was mold in the bathroom floor. The AC stopped working on our 2nd day there. There were no towels available. Family of 4 but only given 2 towels. We requested more towels and were told there were no cleam towels to issue. There were no towels in the pool as well. Breakfast is from 6-9. We went down at 8 and the food was gone. They only had some bagels. No coffee nor juice both were empty. I definitely wouldn't recommend it and definitely would never stay here again.

Rooms were dilapidated and water pressure was bad

Was very nice considering the low cost. Bed was very comfortable. Room was dated and a bit worn but clean. They require a $100 deposit at checkin which can take up to 2 weeks to credit back if you use a debit card. Overall very good for the price.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was dark and dingy. In need of a deep cleaning and sim newer curtains.

Outside of hotel is well maintained. Our room smelled of pot and the bathroom smelled of mold. Sheet would not stay on bed, revealing stains on the mattress pad. The plug near the bathroom had an obvious burn mark. Cups were left without plastic covering, so not sure if it was used. Hair was all over the coffee packets

A/C was automated & controlled by hotel. TV stand was huge & should be removed.

Room had an odd musky smell and curtains did not close all the way so the light from the parking lot flooded my room

Beds are amazing. So comfortable.

Room curtains had holes in them, and the carpet didn’t feel clean. Unfortunately we had hoped for the same quality as another location but same name but it was not

I did not like attention at check in. I did not like there was a noisy party in other room at 1:00 am.

The facility was overall in disrepair and the pool was unclean. The rooms were mediocre and the shower was a huge disappointment, especially because the water pressure was nonexistent. Finally, the breakfast was also a disappointment. I didn’t really enjoy my stay.

The service was excellent, their housekeeping staff was friendly, timely and thorough.

Check-in experience was poor. Front desk staff "accidentally" charged my credit card for more than the total prepaid stay after I mentioned that I booked online and prepaid. The charge actually posted and I had to request and wait for a refund. This took time out of our trip, as no one was readily available at the desk when we identified the issue. The staff at the front desk was argumentative and less than pleasant to work with. The pool was small and lacked any towels available for use. The room was in disrepair and not properly stocked for the amount of guests staying(Not enough towels, etc). The carpets / floors needed a good cleaning and the sheets were stained. The toilet only flushed if you held the handle down for an extended period of time. Toilet plungers were present in the hallway right next to an ice machine. Guests did not adhere to the quiet hours at the hotel and staff did not enforce the policy. Hotel breakfast would essentially run out before the operating hours ended and would not be replenished. We never ate the breakfast due to the limited items left each day when we arrived. Parking lot and surrounding grass was filled with trash and debris.

Staff was extremely friendly anf anything I needed they were more than willing to assist. I wish I knew their names. They were so kind to me during a very rough time and I will be forever grateful for my stay here at this location

When we arrived to the location, the grass was high and the outside of the building had not been taken care of at all. Went inside to check in and the front desk guy left for 15 mins to help someone with their key to get in and finally came to help me. They already had ran my card prior to me getting to check in- the hotel room 105 wouldn’t even lock, like the deadbolt lock wouldn’t lock and I had my daughter and my mother with me. Breakfast was alright but my issue is I have been over changed on my card- can’t get a single person to answer the phone and I would highly highly never recommend this hotel to anyone. Just over all experience was horrible. If I would have know this- I would have stayed somewhere else for my money. I’m irritated that no one will answer- I have called 10 times.

We stayed two nights. We had 3 people staying in our room and were refused an extra towel until the morning when laundry could be done. The next morning, I went to attempt to get one towel and they tried to tell me we would still have to wait after a guest in our room already slept without showering and we had an engagement to be at. The room had paint chips in bathroom on walls. The doors coming from outside were not locked/secured and anyone could come in and out without a room key, although the door handle was equipped for that. We were made to place a deposit of $100 for “damages” as were were told during checkin which was never voiced prior to arrival and were told we would receive back if no damages. Hotel granted us a “late checkout” and we were busy getting things out of room/loaded in car and was out at approximately 12:10pm. Hotel housekeeping staff were nowhere near our room to even begin cleaning, staff were down the other hall opposite ours when we left the room. We were arranging our items in our car and staff did not even enter the room to clean it until 20 min after we had left. They asked if we wanted to pay for an extended stay to which we replied no, that we would be out in a few min. The man from the front desk continued to harass us delaying our time in leaving. We never agreed to any fee for late checkout fee. Upon reviewing bank account, noted the facility illegally took $20 out of our deposit money, only refunding $80. Told me it was for late checkout

We had a group of five and could not get any extra towels. There were no towels for the pool and when asked, I was told they only had two. Our room was not serviced during our stay. We had to find housekeeping to get towels and toilet paper for the next day. Trash was not checked during stay. Evening staff was not very helpful. Will not stay again.

This place was a disappointment! I thought that I had seen a rating of 8-9 so I was expecting a nicer place. The first room they gave us there was water on the bathroom floor. The lady at the front desk did change our room without complaint. The second room had some mold in the corners of the shower. I know this is hard to control; but, a little bleach water would take care of this. They only provided us with 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel for two people. We even had to ask for and extra bath towel. If we wanted anything, we had to walk down to the front desk to ask since their was no phone in the room to give us easy access to the front desk. Yes, I know I could have looked up the number of the hotel and called from my cell phone; but, most hotels still have desk phones that you can at least use to get service. The general appearance of the room showed a lack of care by the maintenance staff.

Property was as expected. Hairdryer was missing but front desk found one. Shout out to the manager on duty the morning of my checkout, she was being berated by a man who was very unhappy with his stay but she kept calm and held her own while he was throwing a tantrum and threatening her. Staff was top notch.

I was there for 4 nights and they did not clean my room not one time. I had to ask them for towels. I asked them to clean the room they said they would but didn't.

Very sad property. Everything old, broken, dirty. Property seemed to be operating via one family. Very hard working (they seemed to be alone maintaining the whole hotel), and very kind people. There weren’t many options available for our dates in the area. Just know what it is to prep your expectations!!

Location. Good

Convenient location, unfortunately there was no coffee in the room for the kurig, towels were dirty,no hand soap, and plug for the tub was broken.

Super sketchy area

wanted a cheap hotel to stay at with my bestie and her baby. reasonable pricing! had a pool. very spacey. not much stuff in the pool room. water was warmer which was nice. the rooms were cute and clean. we stayed 2 nights and when we needed things the staff was easy and pleasant to work with. only about a 16 minute drive to downtown saint louis going west. gas stations and stores close.

We stayed for softball tournament and they didn’t come in after first night to check for trash or towels. We ran out of toilet paper and we had to ask for more towels. Other than that, we had no problems and it was very clean. Very close to the sports complex and lots of food options within 10 mins.

This property is located in highly undesirable location. I would have never stayed there had I known first.

Dirty, poor neighborhood, unsafe to go out after dark. Person sleeping in the hallway. Room was not very clean, but acceptable. Bed was comfortable.

Clean, quiet, with a convenient location to the interstate and restaurants. For the money it was perfect…no complaints, and the front desk person was friendly and efficient.

Front of hotel (entrance) clean. Pool looked dirty and mirky. Smelled of strong chlorine fomr second floor window looking down.Room could use some Tlc paint chipping,lampshade cracked,bed dipped in the middle. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE)In the bathroom the toilet was very low. Shower was dirty where the doors moved and appeared to have rust. Breakfast - no Coffee,Eggs or fruit. No one around to refill said food. This was a very disappointing for the Price!

The front desk staff was friendly. I didn't expect anything out of the ordinary from such a cheap hotel, but I didn't expect it to be so dirty. The carpet was very dirty, it hadn't been vacuumed for a long time. There were stains on the bed and I asked to replace it. The furniture and walls were very dirty. Breakfast was very limited. Milk, coffee, orange juice and apples ran out. I had to ask for something to be brought every time. I don't recommend this hotel.

Terrible property condition. Very bad and unhygienic. Worst ever. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Weed smell in passage. Water drain issue in bath tub. Entire hotel was not maintained. Room carpet was dirty and smelling. Limited breakfast items. No fruits availability. Not hot water. Breakfadt area was uncleared. Messy

Good for the money. Pool was open. Breakfast was limited but at least hot. Beds were comfortable and staff were very nice.

My low grades on this place are owing to all the trash in the parking lot and lawn areas. Place looked like a dump. Hot dog buns as one of the pastry selections in the breakfast area? Gimme a break.

The whole second floor smelled of marijuana and this is a non-smoking hotel. The continental breakfast was horrible. Worst I’ve ever had.

The hotel was very nice. Room was very clean and fit the needs of our family of 4. Beds were comfy and the room seemed clean and renovated. The pool was looking like it needed to be shocked- it was a bit cloudy. They offered a wonderful hot breakfast and we saved a lot of money by eating that breakfast. Nice stay!
